I had the bolognese with spaghetti noodles and it was delicious. I sat upstairs and the vibe was great! Their margaritas were really nice as well. The service was great!
Be the first to ReplyHave always past this restaurant and wanted to try it.
Unfortunately, it was nothing special. Went with friends and ordered the lasagna and penne vodka. The lasagna didn't have much flavor or meat. The penne vodka was ok but nothing to rave about. If you're looking for good Italian, there are countless other restaurants that are better - one being La Pecora Bianca.
Be the first to ReplyCalamari and eggplant parmesan are both outstanding.
We ate at the bar and the service was awesome! (Every seat at the bar and every table was occupied so that was remarkable) Prices for food and wine were very reasonable for NYC.
Be the first to ReplyPerfect Sunday night dinner.
Our Brazilian waiter Francisco could not have been more attentive. He answered all the questions I had about the menu in great detail, so I actually ended up being extremely happy w/my dinner. Obrigada/Thank you!
Be the first to ReplyThe food here was completely average.
Tuna tartare was bland, the ravioli were okay but at the end the dish was covered in half an inch of oil that they were soaked in which was off putting. Worst of all was the chicken Parmesan which was essentially a chicken pizza (it was the size of a 12 inch personal pizza) and had greens and tomatoes covering one side. A chicken parm should never have those things covering it as any person should well know. It made half of it soggy and there is genuinely no reason to put greens or diced tomatoes on chicken parm. Utterly disappointing and we will not be returning. There are far better Italian restaurants in the city that you should visit.

This past weekend we visited Little Island and walking on the way back decided to eat some Italian and stopped at Serafina in the Meatpacking District. The indoors was full because they do not have a lot of space on the first floor but they asked if we wanted to wait to which we agreed. They let us seat outside on the stools they have while we were waiting. It was a hot day and one of the waiters Felipe asked if we wanted to orders drinks while we waited and brought us water. Now thats what I call service! we did not have to ask, he offered. Once the table became available we brought our drinks inside and to our surprise, Felipe was going to be our waiter. The food was amazing! For appetizers we ordered the Bruschetta, the Meatballs and the Fried Calamari and all of them were VERY good. We also ordered the "Crostini Di Sofia" which are a toasted bread topped with fresh melted Italian mozzarella & prosciutto di Parma and WOW, the best prosciutto I have had. Also ordered the Lobster Ravioli which have a more beautiful name (Ravioli Degli Innamorati) and it was delicious too, you can actually taste the lobster. The food was great and the service by Felipe definitely made the experience one we will repeat in the near future.

I stopped here with my cousins visiting from out of town as I knew it was a great restaurant back in Boston. We came here and sat outside, it was around 8 or 9. Unfortunately we understand the rat problem in NY, as we sat there we saw rodents running from the dumpster to near where we sat to around the table. The other poor review has to do with the staff. Apparently they just wanted us out of there. At one point while I was still finishing an app, fork in the air to my mouth, the male server stood there with his hand out waiting for us to give him the plate of food so they could get us our dinner. I said, not impolitely, that i was still eating, to which he stood there waiting while i finished to promptly grab the plate away. It felt like a tourist trip, not like the other Serafina's we've been to in and outside of NY. It was such a gross feeling walking away from the restaurant.

I have been going to Serafina now over 10 years especially this location. The meatpacking locations holds a lot of memories we all have seen it in sex and city. The food never fails it's always on point. All the pasta dishes are always good you can't go wrong if you order one. The pizza is delicious and it's think crust. I love getting a drink here people watching as well.
Be the first to ReplyFood was shit.
Their signature drink was the only redeeming part of my meal. I ordered the Farfalle Al Limicello. Don't waste your money.

Be the first to ReplyUnfortunately we had to eat here, because it was dinner
Unfortunately we had to eat here, because it was dinner time and all the restaurants around the area required a reservation because they were fully booked for the night. So me and my friends ran across this " restaurant ", and let me tell you about the Terrible experience we had. To begin with it was an issue to even get the hostess attention, once we did we had to wait to get a table ( Long wait ), but we were ok with that because we didn't have a reservation and needed a place to have dinner etc. when they did sit us down, The waiter was as slow as a snail and made us wait a long time for every single thing we asked for. He took 15 minutes to come greet us, The water took 20 minutes to come to the table, he didn't know any of the specials, couldn't recommend us anything on the menu. I decided to order an old fashioned cocktail, the waiter kept talking to other employees as I kept looking at him, and still my drink wouldn't arrive. To make things worse they sat us down in table in the corner ( inside area ) next to the bar and there was this drunk gentleman who was being obnoxious and wouldn't stop making comments. The staff was seeing this guy had one too many drinks and they didn't do anything. He kept harassing people who would come up the bar and making unnecessary comments. ( he was LOUD and annoying ). Finally the food arrived an hour later and it wasn't any good. Salty and pretty much had a fast food Italian food feel and look to it, we definitely could tell some of the stuff was heated up and not fresh! Never again will I go back!

Trekked to Serafina in the snow a few weeks ago for a lovely ladies brunch. TBH, I had low expectations based on other reviews, but was happily surprised.I ordered the Penne All'arrabbiata, and received a beautiful bounty of delicious pasta. I tried to be ladylike and leave some to take home, but ended up eating the rest as soon as I walked in the door. We also ordered the focaccia to start, and while it was good, it looked suspiciously like pizza minus the toppings instead of the fluffy bread I was expecting. However, a quick Wikipedia search tells me that focaccia is "similar in style and texture to pizza; in some places, it is called "pizza bianca" ("white pizza")." So I got a delicious meal AND I learned something new. Well worth the trip, in my opinion! For more reviews of vegetarian dishes, follow me at @this_vegetarian_life on Instagram!

Randomly came here one evening for dinner after our original plans were rained out. We were able to be seated immediately which was great since it was raining. We started with a round of drinks and bruschetta. The bruschetta was your basic item, nothing too special about it but still good. For our mains we ordered the spicy penne

Not many vegetarian options but the spaghetti squash is incredible. Great flavor and a good amount of food. Especially like the pine nuts.
Be the first to ReplyHonestly not great at all.
Try to avoid this restaurant at all costs. The food is horrible. Ordered a Truffled pasta and all it had was a bunch of olive oil and a couple of truffle. Could have made this plate at home and would've tasted better and cheaper too. I think the low prices pay for the horrible food. Please look for better restaurants than this one. If you decide to go, DO NOT get pasta maybe you will have better luck with the pizza or something else, but steer clear from the pasta.
Be the first to ReplyI was nervous going into this spot.
There was a general consensus that this is one of those places that had hype but isn't actually good. The pizza is good, no issues there. The schnitzel though? Probably not the move. I don't why I get schnitzel at an Italian spot but I did and it was weird. Maybe the other dishes are better. The espresso martini though...it was brutal. It looked terrible. It tasted meh. Don't shoot for the stars here, keep it safe and simple with your ordering.
Be the first to ReplyI had FORMAGGI D'ITALIA pizza.
I enjoyed it. This is not a place for a long dinner etc. Good for luch. Service was fast. Lots of outside seating.
Be the first to ReplyThe wine was pretty good.
They didn't mess it up. Otherwise, skip if possible... Overpriced and probably the most well done tourist trap.

Great menu selection! I ordered a Bellini and a burger on a Saturday around 2:30pm. They forgot about our table for a lil while in the beginning, but service was nice overall. The burger was on point.
Be the first to ReplyGood food, terrible service.
I was given a glass with lipstick on the brim of the glass. I asked the waiter for a new glass because my glass was dirty, he responded with "it's not dirty."Without saying anything else he leaves, then comes back with a new glass. As he takes the dirty glass, he says again, "this isn't dirty you could just wipe that off, it went through the dishwasher."All downhill after that interaction, in terms of service.
