I haven't been to Sequoia in a while now, and had never been on a Saturday for brunch. Saturday was just as good as Sunday in my opinion. Plus Saturday you do not have to walk to the buffet stations instead it is all tapas style. Our food/drinks kept flowing rather quickly so you really do get your money's worth for the bottomless. The food itself is very flavorful and I particularly recommend the bacon Mac and cheese, the shrimp and grits, and the ham grilled cheese sandwich. We were also celebrating my husband's birthday and they brought out a cute cake for him with a candle. I always enjoy my time at Sequoia whether it's happy hour, Sunday brunch and I can now add Saturday brunch to the list. Highly recommend.

Nestled right by the waterfront, Sequoia is a spacious, two-story gem offering stunning views from every corner. Whether it's a corporate bash or a special night out, this place buzzes with excitement, especially come Friday. The staff is friendly and welcoming, and the vibe can be as formal as you'd want it to be. The food and drinks were great. I opted for the octopus for the appetizer and duck for the main course, both of which were excellent. With its relaxed atmosphere and mouthwatering dishes, Sequoia is the perfect spot to unwind and savor every moment, all while soaking in those gorgeous waterfront views. #bubblytip: Don't worry about where you're seated - the view is gorgeous no matter what!
Be the first to ReplyBrunch menu could be a little more expansive.
. service was good but there was always a delay with refilling champagne.. I've never been to a brunch where champagne was monitored and you can only get a refill when your glass is empty..

My friend and I made a 1p reservation for brunch on a Sunday. This is not a pop up place. You must make a reservation. It will be packed! The brunch buffet is in a separate room. You have to go there yourself. Most people love it for the seafood. Burch was about 100.00. The food was good. They need more vegetables options.

A few friends recommended this place while I was traveling to DC. This restaurant did not disappoint. The WHOLE experience was AMAZING!!! The hostess were amazing, friendly, accommodating and helpful! The wait staff were were attentive, pleasant, and patient. The food was ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS!!!! We will definitely visit again
Be the first to ReplyI enjoyed my first visit to Sequoia.
I've heard great things about it for years so I was excited to try it. My friend and I had a reservation for 1pm for Sunday brunch. We were seated a few minutes after arrival. This place was packed! Not an empty table in sight. It took a while for our server to come greet us, so we were a little confused on how the Buffett worked, (you basically just go right on up) and the staff brings you your selection of drinks. I knocked a star because for someone who hasn't been there before - it would of nice to get a run down of everything. The food was good. I enjoyed the prime rib, salad and seafood. I'd come back!

The flavors of this meal were so unexpected! Based not the two main meals ordered at my table (on a Friday during lunch), this place does a great job of upscale fusion!! I had the chimichurri chicken and shrimp and the table was also served the char-grilled Bronzino (graciously from the dinner menu); both had flavors that I typically don't expect from a restaurant with an ambiance of this scale. I will definitely be back for dinner or weekend brunch, especially in summer time!
Be the first to ReplyCame here on 1/13/24.
To celebrate my sister birthday. From the time we walked in the restaurant it was an amazing experience. The hostess was very polite and kindly let us wait at the bar until the rest of our dinner party arrived. The servers were very attentive and made sure we enjoyed ourselves throughout the dinner. The restaurant was nicely decorated, very cozy one of the nicest places I been this year. Now let's get to the food. We had a lot of food and everything was very good to delicious. Only complaint I had was the spicy guacamole, it wasn't no spice no where and that was the only let down. The jumbo shrimp cocktails was very good. Lobster bisque was also very good. The lobster and shrimp salad was delicious. Also, the lobster scampi was amazing. The crab cake was good and steak was cooked to the right temperature and well seasoned. I would definitely come back to try their brunch menu.

Very cute venue! The decorations here are so modern and sophisticated. We came here for a company party so not sure what it would have looked like otherwise? The food we had was buffet style but included bacon wrapped scallops, steak, chicken, black bean egg rolls, crab cakes, Caesar salad, three different pastas (Alfredo, tomato, mushroom), and rib roast. Everything was delicious. If any of these things are served at their actual restaurant, I would for sure come back and recommend. I think in the summer this place would have a lot more foot traffic but it is definitely nice in the winter that it is by the ice skating rink and large tree.

It had been awhile since I've dined here and let's just say I was thoroughly disappointed. Not because of the food, but my girls and I dined there for brunch this Sunday where we had a 2pm reservation time. This is a pricey bottomless brunch and if they weren't going to allow us enough time to eat and drink comfortably, a 2pm reservation should not have been given/offered. We were rushed, the food area closed at 3PM and the Mimosas stopped at 2:45PM. At 3:02PM I rushed to the dessert section to get cotton candy and the servers rudely informed me that the station was closed. We were extremely disappointed!!!

Bar tender placed "bar closed" sign in front of us even though bar was open according to hostess. He did this without acknowledging our presence, we felt completely disrespected.

Ok so let's be honest here, the place itself is very modern and tastefully decorated, and options vary on a wide range of fine dining platters, and mixology hand-crafted drinks and wines.- Reservation and service at arrival were on point, regardless of being a busy Saturday evening on a pre-valentines day weekend dinner, we were promptly seated by the hostess and our server introduced himself to us in no time, making dinner special recommendations as well as drinks.- Food was everything you would expect in a fine dining restaurant, for an appetizer we order the new england clam chowder soup which was very fresh, tasty, and hot, from that moment forward I knew everything was going to be good, the steak was tender and juicy cook to perfection and the seafood tasted like fresh out the sea just with the proper seasoning.- Location wise despite being located in a busy Georgetown neighborhood in Washington dc, parking was accessibly affordable and very close also nearby many more different options for a drink and a riverfront night walk and sightseeing.- and as always being some room for improvement and innovation I encourage our chef to stay creative and never be afraid to go to basics

We toured Sequoia as a potential wedding venue and stayed for dinner after our tour. You can't beat the beautiful space, lighting, and waterfront views of the Kennedy Center and Potomac River from the large windows! They also had a great greatest hits playlist playing. At 6:30pm on a Friday the restaurant was not too crowded, and it looked like it would be possible to walk-in without a reservation. The service was good, and our food came out quick and very hot. The food was GREAT! We started with the octopus, which came with artichokes and a fun sauce that all went together nicely. The surf and turf (filet and crab cake) special was very good -- the steak was cooked perfectly and the crab cake had large chunks of crab. The lobster pasta was also wonderfully creamy and rich, with a beautiful presentation of the lobster tail on top of the pasta. We split the tiramisu dessert and had coffees (they had decaf options!) to round out an excellent meal.Would definitely recommend for a romantic or any special occasion dinner!

I attended Sunday brunch for my friend's birthday at Sequoia and loved it! The service was excellent. Our server Jeff made sure my champagne glass was always full. The food was delicious, and there were many options for food. They also had a dessert section with ample choices of sweet treats to try. My friends tried macaroons for the first time here. I enjoyed the roast beef, breakfast potatoes, and chicken & waffles from the buffet. I do have a few cons. The buffet and bathroom are quite the walk from the main dining room. I can see this being incredibly frustrating if you are not fond of stairs, especially if you are bringing toddlers, babies, or even a grandparent. This spot is expensive. Brunch is $85 per person. I will be returning with my family. I need to save up some coins first, though :).
Be the first to ReplyBeautiful place and great service.
I can here for a ladies Sunday brunch and it was one price for an abundance of various tapas style options. I stuck to the shrimp and the chicken and waffles. The mimosas were divine! Overall good experience and vibes.

Was in DC just before the holiday for a business trip and we were brought out to Sequoia for a Sunday night dinner. Located in a great little spot right on the water; I had been here years ago and ate at another restaurant nearby.Anyway! Went off and started with the seasonal sangria which was absolutely delicious and refreshing. Came with a nice visual appeal to it too!Apps for the table: fresh guac and chips, calamari, lobster flatbread (my favorite of the bunch). All were fantastic and came with enough to share; we had a party of 6.All of our entrees were absolutely amazing; could have easily chosen anything my colleagues chose and would have loved it. I went for one of their specials, not on the menu, which was a surf and turf selection; I went for the filet, which was delectable and a fresh crab cake. The crab cake was beyond fresh and delicious. For dessert, had to do some tiramisu which was infused with kahlua. Absolutely to die for.

From the ambiance, service, food and unlimited mimosas, BellinisThe food is always fresh and all of the made to order food is always tasty. I took friends from out of town and they loved. Brunch is a must.
Be the first to ReplyAbsolutely LOVE Sequoia's Branzino.
The rice and veggies were the perfect pairing. Beware of the sauce! It is spicy. The drinks also tasted great and had a nice presentation.

I literally got 7 one inch by one inch butternut squash raviolis as an entree. I mean maybe if they were lobster but no. I went to a wedding there and the entrees were filet mignon, sea bass or butternut squash raviolis. I was so embarrassed when my entree came. I guess people who don't eat meat don't eat much. It was poor showing for sure
Be the first to ReplyTLDR: $90 brunch buffet with an unbeatable selection.
Extremely busy during brunch so make reservations. Come for the made to order crab cakes, prime rib and snow crab clusters. Vibe: 5/5. Sequoia is a massive restaurant with ample indoor and outdoor seating. During our visit, we came with a group of 11 and were seating outside on the patio. We had a very nice view of the Anacostia and we're comfortable under the oversized umbrellas. Inside the dining room is nicely appointed with both small and large tables to accommodate any group size. The main buffet area is located in a separate room away from the dining room and the dessert buffet is located at the bar. Everything is well placed and we never had to wait very long for food.Service: 5/5. Our server did a fantastic job at keeping our table clean and refilling water and mimosas (which are all you can drink). Typically tables have a 2 hour time limit, however our server allowed us to stay as long as we wanted since some of our party was a tad late. The buffet servers were also very friendly and generous with portion sizes with larger ticket items such as snow crabs and prime rib. Food: 4/5. Overall the food was good, but the sheer selection of food on the buffet was the main selling point. One thing that amazed me about the brunch buffet was the selection of made to order items available. Diners have the option to enjoy made to order poke, handmade lump crab cakes, 3 different kinds of eggs benedict, Belgian waffles and sushi, all being prepared right in front of you on the buffet. The raw bar was also a fan favorite, sporting Chincoteague oysters, mussels, jumbo steamed shrimp and of course snow crab clusters. Typical breakfast fare such as omelettes, bacon, sausage, waffles etc are also available and are perfectly acceptable. Desserts did not disappoint either, as they offered made to order milkshakes, chocolate fondue fountain and an assortment of tasty cake bites and custards. The price point of $90 is steep, especially if you are not a big eater. However if you plan on putting away 4-5 plates of the premium items like snow crab, prime rib, crab cakes and sushi, then Sequoia should be in your short list!
Be the first to ReplyWow, it's an expensive spot but imo it is worth it.
When you go to a buffet like this, you do need to know how to direct your energy though. Aim for the meats & seafood. The staff are all super friendly except had an awkward moment toward the end of their service at the milkshake station, I made a request and the lady manning the station just waved her hand essentially signing no but didn't make it clear as to why.. Overall the food is excellent, the prime rib was super tender, probably ate about 5 servings along with the snow crab legs !!! The paella and sushi station and their bacon.. () was very good. The crab cakes were decent and they ball them and fry it right there. The sausage, Mac and cheese and taco bar you can probably skip. The waffle was also surprisingly moist and delicious! From the dessert bar, I had a variety of items and I love how the bites are small so you can try more things. And, if you don't like it, you don't have a huge piece sitting there and not as wasteful. The place is huge right by the water and they do have a large covered outdoor area. The place got packed so be sure to make a reservation and coordinate parking.
