What a fun meal experience, dining poolside (by the evening lights) at this hotel-based restaurant! The waitstaff was pleasant, knowledgeable and seemed to be enjoying the evening as well.Early on in the meal, we were startled by the sound of a breaking dish...until we realized that for tables having some sort of celebration, they were screaming "Opa!" and smashing a dish for good luck. Happened multiple times throughout the night, and then of course everyone in the place got in the act of yelling (in celebration) as well. But enough about that...on to the meal! We ordered drinks, appetizers and several other platters for sharing around our three-person table. We started with a salad course, then saganaki and octopus ceviche and finally dishes of lamb chops and gyros. The courses began to arrive. The Greek salad was big enough for four people and had all the typical "goodies" in it with a light dressing on top.Later, the next (appetizer) course came. The saganaki was flamed tableside and served with grilled pita. The cold octopus ceviche was well-balanced and acidy served with chopped red peppers, onions, cilantro, lemon and lime.Lastly, the main course. Our friend's lamb chops were grilled and served with a small spinach salad and french fries. I thought the lamb was just slightly overdone, but the grilled flavor was pretty spot on. The lamb gyro platter came with thickly sliced lamb meat grilled alongside red onions, served with pita bread, tzatziki sauce, rice pilaf and french fries. Rice was nothing special, fries were perfectly crispy and the meat (along with pita) allowed us each to make small gyro sandwiches.A lovely evening was had by all, especially since our dining partner was a long lost (high school) friend of mine who I had not seen in almost 36 years!
