This is my first time here but it definitely won't be the last. First of all, the decor is stunning with its upscale beach atmosphere (very Martha's Vineyard). We started the with Rock Salt Shrimp with some red wine. Our main entrees were Chilean Seabass and the scallops. My husband had the seabass and said it was outstanding. For the scallops - hands down the best I've ever had. They melted like butter. Our server was super attentive and very kind. Highly recommend! (my picture only shows the side portion of the scallops - the entree has more)

The ambience here is great for a night out. Music is always good and the service is excellent. We love sitting at the bar chatting with other guest or the bartender who knows how to make delicious cocktails. We tried the dumplings this time which were phenomenal. A little citrusy and spicy so unique and flavorful. I opted for a salad and my husband got the blackened salmon Alfredo. He really loved his meal. The pasta is very saucy which he loves. My salad was delicious but hard to mess up. I was eyeing the other l guest meals and everything looked so good I can not wait to go back.

We live 2 hrs away but visit Indy a couple of times each year so we can eat at SALT. The food is consistently good as is the service. Our waiter Chris C. has served us several times and he is great. this is a favorite place of ours for food and service in Indy!

Excellent service and food. Highly recommend and would definitely come back. I would recommend the Parmesan crusted sea bass. Scallops were good, but didn't care for the risotto. Calamari appetizer was excellent.

The food was amazing and our waitress was as well her name was Alexa she was so helpful and happy it made me and my girlfriends whole experience so much better thank you so much first time in Indiana and we loved everything about this place.

Service was spectacular our waiter had suggestions for every entrée and paired everything we ate with perfection. The pan bread was hot and the butter with lava salt was out of this world. Scallops were meaty and cooked to perfection, the salmon was full of flavor and a healthy cut of fish. Striped sea bass crusted with Parmesan was delightful. Dessert did not disappoint, all together was a delightful dinner. Highly recommended

We were a larger party and they did an incredible job catering to our needs. The manager (i'm forgetting her name), came to our table to check-in on us and that was very meaningful and really showed the students that people care. The hospitality here was incredible and I was very impressed. From the moment we stepped in, to the moment we left, we were very welcomed and cared for. This was a treat for the students and I couldn't have asked for a better experience for them. Our server was incredible and we always had water in our glass which is always a nice perk. She was patient, kind, and answered all of the questions. I wish I could remember her name, because she was incredible. Now for the food, holy crap, it was amazing. I am very hesitant to eat seafood since I moved to Indiana 7 years ago, after living in California but I am so glad I tried it here. We ordered oysters and those were so good. I had the lamb and it was so good. I also got a taste of the mac and cheese and that was to die for. We had students split the sides and they said it was the perfect amount of food on top of their entrees. I would highly recommend this place, even if you are hesitant to eat seafood here. I can't wait to go back!

This was the perfect restaurant to get a drink before walking across the street to Old National Centre. The bar is big and shaped like a square, with lots of seats, and bartenders flying around in the middle, cheerfully making drinks and taking orders. There are TVs above the bars, which were all set to sports when I was there, but it's fine because I wasn't there to watch TV. And anyway, the people-watching opportunities are copious here so there's no time to watch TV. Everyone makes fun of Carmel because it has that certain je nais se quois. But Salt on Mass is where the big dogs go to drink their martinis -- the old money Indianapolis-Carmel people. This place out Carmels Carmel. And I love it! I had a great time sipping my single gin & tonic while strangers' conversations happened all around me. This place skews older and more settled (60+), at least when I visited on a Tuesday evening. I'd like to come back some time and try the food, as my first visit included only a liquid dinner (gin). The food that other people were eating at the bar looked amazing, and I'm sure it tasted amazing, too.

The family & I have been dining at Salt on Mass for about 6 years now & we absolutely love this place. The food is by far the BEST in central Indiana! The seafood is ultra fresh as they do not have a freezer. Everything is prepared fresh to order. The staff is very professional & knowledgable about their menu. There are always off the dock seafood specials available. Everyone we know that has dined at Salt on Mass raves about how fantastic EVERYTHING is!!

I've been wanting to try Salt on Mass for a while because I love seafood and they have great reviews. I went with the shrimp and scallops and my partner had the Chilean sea bass. My scallops were perfectly cooked and the risotto was creamy and delicious. My partner said his Chilean sea bass was delicious as well. I am giving 3 stars strictly because of service. We were celebrating Valentine's Day late and made a reservation for the following Saturday.We had an early reservation so the restaurant wasn't too busy when we arrived. We were greeted promptly and taken to our seats. There was the same style two-person table in the section we were taken to by a window and I asked if we could sit there but the hostess said it was reserved, which I found odd because we had reservations as well and there was plenty of seating available. We finished our dinner and no one was ever seated there. There was also some miscommunications with our waiter. When the waiter presented the Chilean sea bass, he stated that there was a chef special and it came with lobster risotto, so we assumed when it was ordered it would come with the risotto. He asked if we wanted to order a side to share and we got the mac and cheese. When the food came out, the sea bass did not come out with the risotto and when I asked about the side of risotto, he said the mac and cheese was the side. We just left it at that. I also attempted to order a drink off the menu and the waiter immediately said "you won't like that". I know he was trying to be helpful, but I thought the approach could have been different. In the end, we did enjoy the food. I just wish the experience was a little better.

The food was excellent! The Parmesan crusted Chilean Sea bass was the best I've ever had and the shrimp and grits were very tasty. Our server Jane was very attentive and helpful. Our only issue was the wine list. For a seafood restaurant, the white wine list was very sparse. They need more than one California Chardonnay-maybe a Cakebread or a Rombauer or something even better!

Im actually allergic to shell fish and this has become my favorite indy restaurant along with all of my coworkers. Not only is the food fabulous but the service is always top notch. Our go to server, Brandon keeps us coming back. He not only delivers an incredible dining experience by being incredibly knowledgeable but he has charisma. He made our dining a whole experience. He has the best sense of humor and is the whole package. We even had him sign our wine cork the first time he waited on us because we never wanted to forget that night. Funny how I avoided this place because of my allergies for so long and now this quickly has become our go to. 10 out of 10 and thats saying something as I am a huge foody and dine out often. Don't sleep on salt.
