Saint Jacques London Reviews from The Last Year
Gritty Moules
Great starter, dessert, ambiance and service. Worst moules I have ever had. Clearly weren't washed to get rid of grit. And they were full of mini crabs. We both only ate a few and said to the waiter they were no good. No action was taken. Shame, otherwise a great place.
Je ne sais quoi!
There's no doubt this restaurant has all the qualities and menus needed for a French restaurant. But there was something about the area that put me off. Perhaps that's just my personal choice! The restaurant they used to run in Chelsea called Gustave Brasserie had more of that special something!
Quality food
Our 2nd visit at lunchtime and taking advantage of the very good Set Menu here. The food is top quality and well presented, although not wildly generous. Lovely light spacious dining room looking out onto pretty courtyard and attracting a mostly business crowd. On this visit we thought service was just a little off the mark but overall we still enjoyed our experience and would happily come back.
Rudest restaurant in London
Please never never go to this place. They truly don’t care about their customers. I received an email advertising a wine dinner at their venue, so phoned a week before and booked a table for four of us at 7.30pm. When we arrived bang on time at 7.30pm I was informed that the dinner started at 6.30pm (although we were never told this) and we should hurry downstairs, where we were told to sit at 5 different tables as singles, although we were 4 in our party, and we’d already missed the first course of the dinner. The main problem was not that they had made a mistake with the booking or failed to tell us at any point that the dinner started earlier, but that they just didn’t care or in anyway try to rectify the situation. We literally didn’t matter to them, or that they had made the error. I’m a keen foodie and go out to eat regularly, and London is lucky to be blessed with some fine French restaurants like Bouchon Racine and Noize, to name two, so please please whatever you do go anywhere other than this incredibly indifferent and rude establishment.
A "locals" place that is worth the visit
We arrived for dinner and the restaurant was fairly empty so we were concerned but by the time we left it was quite full. Patrons seem to be mostly locals (not a tourist hangout) and you hear a lot of French and English conversations. Our dinner was superb as was the wine pairing and the service. Highly recommended.
As good as ever
First came here when it first opened then regularly either side of lockdowns. This was my first visit in a couple of years and pleased to say it’s as good as ever. Excellent menu full of French classics. Portions are generous, service discreet and there is good sensibly priced wine list. Definitely recommend.
Lunch in Saint James
A lovely casual/smart restaurant where we had a very tasty lunch. The square at the back is smallest in London so we'll worth a visit.
Best place in St James’s
Once again we came back to St Jacques restaurant on St James’s street. The best outside terrace in London! Fabulous food and super friendly staff. A wonderful lunch, can’t recommend it enough.

When you sell a reservation that has a prepaid fee AT takes a commission on that fee. This doesn’t really make sense because it’s an expense the seller incurs not part of the profit that is shared.
For example:
Carbone NYC fee to book table for 2 is $108.88
If you sell it for $200 on AT you get $140 from them.
Your net profit is $31 and AT collects $60 in fees.
It would make more sense not to charge commission on the upfront fee as this creates a disincentive and results in higher costs for buyers.

Agreed. Ultimately not addressing this month after month is clearly resulting in a drop in certain venue’s rankings & sales.
