I ordered some of my top favorites here being the NY Strip
I ordered some of my top favorites here being the NY Strip cooked rare and a decadent slice of Chocolate Sin Cake this Friday evening. Both were simply amazing, high quality, moist, rich and very delicious with bold flavors. My steak was abundantly seasoned well with salt n black pepper. The meat was kind of firm with a terrific crust and deep inner redness. It was still tender and very well marbled. The melted butter was just a bonus, bc the prep is very noticeable with or without it. My dessert was very deep in cocoa notes, dense and had a great, refreshing raspberry sauce on bottom. This flourless chocolate cake resembles a big slice of fudge, but even a lot better in taste. Great, welcoming, attentive service again. Love me some R C. On a note, some other menu items I really like here are their bone-in strip, big filet, creamed spinach, lobster mac, mushroom caps, s p casserole and bread pudding.

Be the first to ReplyRuth, Chrys has been one of my favorite restaurants since
Ruth, Chrys has been one of my favorite restaurants since my college days. In recent years, the quality of taste has been subpar, and other steakhouses like Maestros & Steak 48 were better. I must say this past visit to the RuthChris on Westheimer was a welcomed blast from the past in terms of taste. The service at RuthChris has always been good, & the vibe is laid-back and relaxed, just like I like it. The waiter was a true wine connoisseur who had great recommendations for almost every cut of steak. I only wish Ruth Chris had a bigger selection of Pinot Noir from around the world and not just the two. The mac & cheese was seasoned to perfection, and so was the cream spinach. Everything was truly great and I would be coming back.
Be the first to ReplyWhile this place is good, it's not great for me.
It's just missing that "wow" factor that I'm expecting from this kind of establishment. The service was great, but the food was lacking just a little something in flavor. It's certainly not a bad choice, but with so many other similar options out there, it's not a top choice for me.
Be the first to ReplyEverything was great.
The service was really good & the food was tasty. I really enjoyed the lobster bisque however my bf did not. He felt like there was something missing. The crab cakes were amazing. Came out literally sizzling. Now the Porter house steak was amazing. So flavorful and they came out with buttered plates. The steak was so tender and juicy. The garlic mash was so creamy & delicious as for the spinach, I was not a big fan. All in all it was a nice little date night with my bf.

I ordered the T-Bone very rare with the Bread Pudding for dessert. I usually get either the original boneless or bone-in Strip when coming here. Both the main meal and the sweet treat were top notch, very delicious, juicy and well-prepped. This steak looked much more like a porterhouse, tbh. The meat was very well-seasoned, hearty in flavor profile and very tender, especially on the filet side. The inner redness was a great example of what a rare steak should be and the contrasting crust on top was superb. The butter, salt and pepper were very generous adding great depth. The bone taste and marbling to leanness ratio were prominent in the steak, which were obviously more to appreciate. For dessert, I usually get either the bread pudding or flourless chocolate cake, bc those are my two favorites and they're both so good. My bread pudding after this massive beef entree was also really good and addictive in both its terrific taste and really moist texture. It was sweet to the right degree with some cinnamon, cooked cherries, whisky milk sauce and whatever else. It's one of my favorite bread puddings on the planet and it reminded me of a big, warm donut in a way. It had a great, brown-colored crust combined with a very soft middle. The service was great, welcoming and efficient again. R C is one of my favorite steakhouses and so consistent every time.
Be the first to ReplyThe food was mediocre, and there was nothing that wowed us.
We ordered the filet medallions with shrimp on top, lobster Mac and cheese, garlic mashed potatoes, crab cakes, and crème brûlée. The garlic mash didn't taste homemade and had the consistency of instant mash. The lobster Mac and cheese lacked flavor and lobster was overcooked. I ordered a medium rare steak but was disappointed because it was on the medium well done side. For a "high end" restaurant I would say there's plenty to work towards. From the food to the interior design, it just doesn't give high end. Safe to say, I don't feel compelled in the slighted to come back.
Be the first to ReplyI went last year and said I would never go back to the one
I went last year and said I would never go back to the one in Houston. I will continue in Louisiana to enjoy their great food and service. Everything changed with their new restaurant. The clientele, demographics changed with client behaviors and standards that were allowed to slip and not corrected by management. It seems most long term servers have been replace by younger , polite but inexperienced, and lacking of knowledge. The new change we have witnessed the last few years, are not on par with service and defiantly NOT on par with Ruth Chris's traditions we have enjoyed over the years. The food is delicious when you receive the correct desired cooked steak. Sadly so that wasn't even the case. Too many fantastic options near by, no longer willing to pay the price for such unprofessionalism we have witnessed the last few times, especially over special occasions. Again sadly so this Louisiana gal will continue to enjoy just not in Houston.

Be the first to ReplyMy first time at Ruth's Chris and it was for a Saturday
My first time at Ruth's Chris and it was for a Saturday afternoon birthday dinner for a family member. Running late, I decided to opt for the $3 valet which is very prompt, friendly, and attentive. Entering the restaurant, even in the afternoon on a sunny day is quite dark. The hallways are quite maze like as well if you are going to a private dining room. It was great that I was led to the private room because silly me, I am directional challenged; I will end up in the kitchen if you don't watch me!In any case, the private room was quite spacious and simply decorated. A few tables to place gifts and a cake were available for the occasion, but the air in the room was barely on. Very stuffy throughout the 2 plus hours I attended. I thought it was just me...turned out I was not the only one feeling the lack of air circulation. I was asked to sit at a certain table to my luck was wobbly. Servers did their best to accommodate the 20 plus guests at the party. We weren't much of a hassle- a few drinks orders here and there. They did take cards for non hosted items, but I just cashed out my one drink I had and called it a day. I would suggest the raspberry cosmo for sure. Very fragrant and low on the cal count (170 calories). Plus it was heavy on the liquor. Sip slow! The private dining menu had several options for the main entree. I decided to go for the gusto and order the New York Strip medium well. Coming out the kitchen sizzling at 500 Farenheit, your first cut into the steak may make you question if it's medium well, but trust me- let that steak sit for a few minutes because 1) it's too hot to eat, and 2) by the time you give it some rest, it'll be at medium well! Steak was absolutely tender and not seasoned too heavily. I did use Heinz 57 sauce because it did need just a little more seasoning for my taste. However, I did not need to drench my steak with sauce to get that extra boost of flavor. The family sides were quite a nice balance to the steak with mashed potatoes and creamed spinach. Not too heavy to make you go into a food coma- that occurs from the cheesecake that they bring packaged to you for home devouring. The next day, that cheesecake was so good covered with fresh berries (removed the blueberries since I'm not a fan), but the cheesecake was so light and creamy- I could have had another portion for sure!Overall, I would venture to come to this restautant again although the private dining room does not have a view to rave about (faces a garage) but it's spacious, provides resources to entertain (TV for presentation), and provides a vast dining menu. I am looking forward to experiencing this place on another occasion in the future.
Be the first to ReplyI ordered my favorites here tonight consisting of their NY
I ordered my favorites here tonight consisting of their NY Strip cooked very rare, Creamed Spinach, glass of Sauvignon Blanc and a slice of Chocolate Sin Cake for dessert. The steak was very flavorful, juicy, tender, meaty, fatty and well seasoned. It was very delicious and consistent in every bite with no flaws. The top n sides were seared just right and the middle was very red as very rare is supposed to be. It was easy to cut throughout and I could taste the rich beef itself, herbed butter, black pepper and salt. It is imo one of the best steaks I have ever eaten and I have eaten at several prime grade steakhouses. The creamed spinach was so tasty, well-spiced in a mild way, heavy on the cream and spinach flavor at the same time with a great texture like pudding. It was very delicious and rich along with being sort of earthy in taste as it should be. This is my personal favorite side dish here and also with steak in general as well as brussel sprouts and mushrooms. The cold, crispy white wine washed this excellent, salty, savory meal down very nicely. The flourless chocolate cake I got after this meal was very rich, dense, kinda soft like a heavy fudge and full of cocoa awesomeness. It was very delicious and satisfying. The raspberry sauce on the plate for this dessert is a nice fruity, refreshing plus to go with it as well as making it look artistic. The chocolate sin cake is my favorite dessert here along with the bread pudding. The service was very attentive, efficient, welcoming and friendly from the bartenders and managers I came across on this visit. RC is an excellent establishment and steakhouse.
Be the first to ReplyHad dinner this evening and it was not good.
Steaks tasted old. Lobster was freezer burned tasting definitely not fresh. Food was no where near what it should've been. Overall experience was sub par. Hostess' were nice but unprofessional with cussing and playing around. Would never recommend nor come here again.

Dined here with my husband tonight, and the food was exactly what you would expect a steakhouse to be. Our waitresss Tammy was exceptional! She was so knowledgeable on everything, wonderful personality, and always had a smile on! She explained and made recommendations knowing it is our first time here! It was a bit loud but expected for a Friday night. I will be back, and will request Tammy as our waitress again! Thank you so much for such an amazing evening!

Food AMAZING. Service EVEN BETTER. Ashley made us feel right at home. We will be returning every occasion!!
Be the first to ReplyIt was our first time here.
My partner went to the restroom just before the waiter came so I ask for a few more minutes. He came back and was very drab and not enthusiastic about serving us. It took forever for their specialty drink, the waiter was nice enough to comp it. I overheard him ask the tables next to us if it was their first time. He proceeded to tell them all about the specials and desserts. I was looking forward to hearing it all first hand. But, sadly, when our turn came we didn't get the red carpet at all, in fact, we were treated like we came to the back door for scraps. The food was amazing, the filet was melt in your mouth tender and the lobster bisque was very tasty, although I'm sure it was microwaved, the garlic potatoes were amazing, once we sent back the cold ones for hot ones. The waiter never came and asked how the steaks were. First time I've ever been to a steakhouse that they didn't immediately asked if the steaks were cooked ok. The cheesecake was also delicious. If the waiter hadn't judged us in the beginning, it would have been a wonderful experience.
Be the first to ReplyFood was not worth the price at all.
It seems like the cooks use minimal effort here. If someone told you that this was "a good place" or "the food here is amazing" please do not ever listen to that person again because they have zero taste. On top of that the staff is very rude and stuck up.

My server was Tim and he should be the poster icon for quality customer service. First Time dining at Ruth Chris and he explained the menu to perfection. He even shared his own recommendations. I enjoyed the food. I made a reservation on open table. I called multiple times to get an idea of the restaurant. However nobody answered. So I can only give this 4 stars. The valet parking fee should have been communicated. Which I have no problem with the fee , I just would've carried cash if I was aware.

Food came out cold and quality of steak was tough and hard as a rock. The only good thing was the wine and Ceaser salad. Even the complementary bread was hard!

Wow! I was looking for a good steak restaurant for my boyfriend's birthday, and a co-worker recommended this place. They did not disappoint! The food was so good! I had the stuffed chicken (recommended by my co-worker) and my boyfriend had the ribeye. We ordered the garlic mash potatoes, lobster Mac, and the brussel sprouts to share. The food came out sizzling hot! It was his first time trying brussel sprouts, and he loved them. We also shared the Spicy Shrimp as an appetizer. They were delicious too! My boyfriend said the Long Island was very good and strong as well. We left stuffed and very pleased. Thank you for making his birthday one to remember...

My family and friends indulged here for my 31st birthday dinner! My steak and lobster was delicious and all the sides we basically shared! Definitely recommend and for my first time here I'll be back!
Be the first to ReplyMarcel and Nate are the best bar tenders at any Ruth Chris
Marcel and Nate are the best bar tenders at any Ruth Chris steakhouse, let's not forget management who is awesome. If you look in the dictionary the picture of Randy would be next to his picture. Great customer service, great food and drinks.
Be the first to ReplyLast time I was here was Easter.
I ordered a NY Strip medium rare, a 6 oz glass of Chardonnay and a slice of Chocolate Sin Cake for dessert. Everything was very delicious, high quality, very well prepped and moist. My steak was very well seasoned and very tasty with great consistency in every bite. The black pepper, salt, melted butter and top notch beef taste were all noticeable in every bite. The marbling in this strip cut was prominent in the right way. The inner redness was great n always spot on here for medium rare. The white wine I got this time was refreshing, crispy and not as sharp as the other two I have had, which was cool. My dessert was very tasty, really rich and highly dense with good moisture. It's a flourless chocolate cake similar to fudge, but a lot better and not as sweet either. This chocolate lovers' dessert has a great amount of cocoa kick to it. That bit of raspberry sauce on the bottom of the plate goes very well with it too. Ruth's Chris is awesome in so many ways with several amazing menu items to choose from. The steaks are top quality premium meats seasoned very nicely. I really hate it when places of any type or level don't season their meat. The sides and desserts are diverse and made in house with great freshness n lots of flavors. Ruth's Chris is one of my top 3 favorite steakhouses along with Morton's and Pappas Bros. The service was very attentive n very friendly with great efficiency on this visit as well.
