Mount Vernon Triangle is lucky to have this restaurant.
Highly recommend getting the Chilean Sea Bass.
Be the first to ReplyQuite possibly my favorite place to eat in Washington, DC.
There is not a single bad thing on the menu. The only thing I haven't enjoyed is the grape leaf wrap appetizer but that's just because it's my palate doesn't agree with it. Drinks and food are next level. Entrees are def sized to be able to share but its not a must. Staff is very attentive and and welcoming. Only issue might be being able to book a table because it is so popular.
Be the first to ReplyI ordered out from Rumi's Kitchen and was not disappointed.
I got the lamb shank and substituted the green salad for the rice. I'm glad I did because I didn't realize that they include fresh bread. The potion was pretty good for the price, and can easily feed two people. The lamb shank was excellent. The salad was a fresh and healthy. The bread was good. They also included sumac and Sabzi and included a nice little info card to explain what these are and how to use them for those that don't know. Everything was excellent and I definitely plan on coming here in person.

Be the first to ReplyGo here ASAP.
Order the Sea Bass, the Kashk Badenjoon (eggplant), and a dirty martini (or any other cocktail of your liking). Enjoy the fresh naan while you wait for your food. Savor every bite. Everything is exquisite. I will be dreaming about the Sea Bass for the rest of my life. I will absolutely be back!! 15/10 stars.

Hello Yelpers!!!!! I never drive to DC to hangout but I'm glad I did. This is a very nice restaurant. I think it's ok to say this restaurant serves Mediterranean dishes. The Salmon and Shrimp dishes were delicious! Waited was very friendly and helpful. The drinks were delicious and the ambiance was great as well! I highly recommend!!!!

Great experience! Good food, glad this chain made its way to DC. Baklava is top notch!
Be the first to ReplyWe had an amazing food experience here.
Everything we had was delicious! Definitely make a reservation otherwise you will be waiting for a long time . The ambiance is very nice and some of the best Persian food I have had so far.

Make a reservation as soon as you see this review! Do not hesitate for a moment...I'm so glad I was able to have a lovely dinner here with my coworkers. It was very busy on a Monday evening in the winter. That should tell you everything you need to know about how good this place is. It is tucked around the corner from the convention center on a quieter section of the neighborhood but has a good amount of space inside with a warm, inviting ambiance. The food was top-notch, from the appetizers that came out for the table (fresh pita and veggies) to the homemade saffron infused ice cream. No detail was left out of any of the dishes or drinks ordered here. Flavors were delicious, and everything our table ordered was cooked perfectly. Highlights include their kabobs and the delectable sea bass. Their plates are definitely shareable and you should order almost like tapas so you can taste a little of everything.Service was excellent and despite not having a reservation, they were kind enough to let us sit at their bar top tables and did not rush our meal. Next time I will make a reservation ahead of time for sure!
Be the first to ReplyI decided to try Rumi's since finding it in the Michelin
I decided to try Rumi's since finding it in the Michelin Guide and was not disappointed. We had the Lamb Kabob and Salmon entrees, and both were amazing (especially the salmon - I was trying to figure out how I could cook it like that at home). Entrees come with saffron rice and we also ordered a few drinks - Black Rose and Persian Sunset. Portions are HUGE. Overall, excellent food/drinks and would highly recommend!
Be the first to ReplyRumi's Kitchen was the perfect addition to my list of DC
Rumi's Kitchen was the perfect addition to my list of DC favorites. Their service was amazing and the food was even better. From great cocktails to large servings of perfectly cooked kabobs, it's safe to say that I will definitely be returning for this impeccable experience again!
Be the first to ReplyRumi's Kitchen was outstanding.
It is very close to the Washington Convention Center and it is B-U-S-Y so make a reservation. We had a group of 6 and we were seated quickly to our table near the kitchen. I loved that our waiter was cognizant of our allergies and we did not have to tell him instead he asked which I like. We had a nut allergy (your's truly) and Soy (another in our party). We were provided recommendations for what to order based on our food restrictions. We ordered Lamb Hummus, Zeytoon Parvardeh (which was liked by one and disliked by another due too it being too spicy), Grilled Shrimp (they are HUGE! and delicious), and Falafel which was outstanding. We all ordered various items and I ordered the Soltani Kabob. It was so so so good, I don't know how else to tell you but to get there and try it. It was incredibly tasty and a nice smooth umami flavor. Everyone loved their items which included the Chicken Barg, Chicken Kabob, and Lamb Kabob. I did the Lubia replacement for the rice and it was so worth it. The normal basmati rice was delicious but this was even better! You get more than enough rice for everyone too, very large. I was the only one to finish my meal. I ordered the Faloude dessert (see picture) which was sour with sweetness which was a true experience. I recommend it if you are able to eat dessert. All in all, amazing trip and the bathrooms are really nice
Be the first to ReplyAbsolutely love the food at Rumi's Kitchen.
It's a very nice spot inside and the staff are great from the couple times I've eaten in person. The space is a bit cramped in a few spots, but where isn't these days. The dips to start are good but not noteworthy. In the appetizers, the Kashk Badenjoon is my absolute favorite - they do it well, so tender and flavorful.Have tried chicken kebabs, lamb kebabs, and the sea bass. All were very good but their lamb kebabs are excellent. Tender in ever bite, which is hard to do, which a great spice profile.Be prepared to pay for the quality of the meal, but it's worth it.
Be the first to ReplyThis has to be one of my new favorite kabobs spots in DC!
This has to be one of my new favorite kabobs spots in DC! I've tried a few different Iranian restaurants around the NOVA area but nothing compares to this spot. The service was great and the vibes inside were awesome. Lastly, The food was amazing!! They have so much variety and options with their menu selection. I would definitely recommend the lamb sausage hummus, koobideh kabob, and the chicken soltani.
Be the first to ReplyOverpriced, overrated, overhyped!I'm Persian, trust me this
Overpriced, overrated, overhyped!I'm Persian, trust me this is not good Persian food! The rack of lamb that I got was burnt on the outside and raw in the inside. The presentation was good though.
Be the first to ReplyGabriell, you are awesome and very attentive! Thank you.
Food was awesome. Bold tasting meals and really good old-fashions. The loads of bread we got with our apps was AWESOME! I thought it was a mistake but nope, Gabriell definitely understood that with that many apps means you need a good amount of tasty soft bread to accompany it. Will be back
Be the first to ReplyAsked for a medium well rack of lamb and it came rare.
They said they will bring us another one and it came well done and burnt!!! They said it will take 7 minutes but had to wait 30 minutes for a burnt lamb. When we complained they offered us a free baklava. Had to pay $45 and could not eat though!
Be the first to ReplyI heard by word of mouth some great reviews about this gem
I heard by word of mouth some great reviews about this gem of a restaurant so I was keen to try it out. And it was that good that I went twice in a week!Although it was very busy, and we had to wait for our table inside, on both evenings, the service was charming and extremely pleasing. Our servers were knowledgeable and helpful. The outside tables are popular even with the rain and much less noisy. They have adequate heaters and each table is lit perfectly with a stylish, delicate, and narrow Pina Pro Rechargeable LED table lamp, which shines brightly enough on to each table surface for you to appreciate the food, without shining ย anywhere in your eyes. I liked the attention to detail. The food arrived promptly, with freshly baked taftoun and appetisers, some of the best tasting I have ever had in a Persian restaurant anywhere. All the portions were generous. The mirza was OUTSTANDING, and I should know! The maasto o moosir was just right, the half ghormeh sanzi - half ghaimeh starters on tahdeeg were both very tasty. The sabzi plate, was small in portion size but came with fresh ingredients ( walnuts, radishes, feta cheese), except for the limp looking herbs. The main dishes were just as pleasing as the starters. The chicken kabaab pieces were moist, and delicious, served with a large, grilled tomato and some saffron rice. But my all time favourite was the meaty, tasty ghaimeh served with saffron rice. DELICIOUS!And there's more...for desert, it was a delight to taste the huge bowl of faloodeh topped with albaloo ( cherries). It was very popular , as was the ice cream wafer sandwich. On the following night there were no tables outside. We were happy to be seated inside, where there was a lovely buzz and ย atmosphere , and our table #13 for 6 was perfectly positioned for conversation. The ghaimeh did not disappoint again, and I devoured it to the very end. The salmon, served with a herb rice, also caught my attention. The pomegranate drizzled fessenjoon stew looked very appetising and ย I loved that it was served with the traditional duck. Bravo! CONGRATULATIONS to you, Mr Ali Mesghali, you have really done us proud, with the high quality ย and authenticity of all your Persian dishes. I can't wait to come back. THANK YOU.
Be the first to ReplyIt's all about the attention to detail--thank you,
It's all about the attention to detail--thank you, Rumi's!!! The French steak knives I am in love with, the dimmable table light, the attentive and nice service, the complimentary bread, nuts, radishes/greens, etc. You always have water and a cleared table and a waiter who checks in. ย Been here twice during covid era on the patio, and the food and service are always spectacular. Was here in fall 2021 (duck fessenjoon and cardamom ice cream=delicious) and just there 18 March 2022. The lamb kebab was cooked perfectly just as I ordered it and the rice it comes with was fluffy, with raisins. We had cocktails and Lebanese wine which were all really good and cocktails were a good serving size (Persian sunset) not filled with ice and skimpy like most places. Rice was however not as big of a portion as my friends were used to there. Yogurt on the side (separate order--cucumber in one and garlic in other) was perfect and good for 3 to share. Friend had salmon, another the veggie kabob, and another also had lamb kabob. We had g. sabzi dinner as a shared app with tahdig (no saffron). We were all well fed by the end. Place was packed inside and out and always is! Was not loud outside at all. One thing I always wish wouldn't happen, that no restaurant in the US seems to comprehend, is when staff ask to clear anyone's plate while others are eating. It may seem nice (or maybe they need the plates?), but it cuts into the dining experience for others who then feel rushed to finish or like pigs, or just weird being the only ones able to eat...may seem odd, but just leave an empty plate while everyone else finishes!!!
