Love everything about this place.
Just went in for quick happy hour, will definitely be back for a sit down dinner! The decor in the upstairs bar is just beautiful, and with the patio open & a nice breeze on the right day, this place is a little slice of heaven

Let me just start with I have no photos because as soon as my food was delivered to my table I devoured it. There was not one thing that I ordered that I did not thoroughly enjoy. I started with the crispy Brussel sprouts salad, the rolls with guava butter, plantains and then the blackened scallops every thing absolutely delicious. Our sweet server Kathrine was fantastic, very friendly and attentive! I'm looking forward to my next visit already!

..they don't have their act together. Been through a lot of chefs and keep changing their menu. We sent back two dishes. We never send food back but it was TERRIBLE. Service slow too. What a waste good space.

The steak was really good and it is a very small portion of it, but the vegetables and garlic purée was complete shit, especially for $52 is such a bullshit meal. 2 years ago was perfect, now it seems like the business aspect of food has went downhill. I would much rather spend $40-$50 at Skyloft or at The Cliff here at Laguna beach. At least the presentation and the quality of the food is very much high quality at those restaurants. Save your money don't come to this bullshit ass restaurant.

Food very slow - took over 1/2 hour to get two tiny jerk sandwiches for happy hour? Cute place overlooking a great " tree of life" with lights hanging over a courtyard. The staff / bartenders were very nice. Somewhat attentive but as I was seated alone a bit more attention would have been great. Seated accross from me at a table that overlooked the tree and the tables at the more formal restaurant below was a couple who had the most adorable tricolor mini who was so well behaved. So yes well behaved dogs are allowed. Now onto the sandwiches? Though tiny they had amazing flavor and not overpowering. These two sandwiches, I was surprised, filled me up and left amazing light fruit, parsley and tomato flavors. So juicy on fresh baked bread. Amazing relaxing European music lightly plays in the background and noise of light customer conversations so not over powering just gentle in the background. Ok it was sooo worth the wait !! Coming back and back next time I'm in Laguna.

My husband and I dined here for the first time last night and had a wonderful time. Aubrey our server was super friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. Loved the presentations of the dishes and creativity of the menu . Cocktails were great and I sampled a few . They have a great little bar area upstairs where I will for sure come back for happy hour . It's a great newer spot in Laguna and will definitely return .

At the time of my visit, Rum Social had only been open for 3.5 months (summer 2022). Previously, Watermarc restaurant occupied the space. The front entrance faces PCH right off Park Ave., where all the tourist action is. You can also enter through the back alley into Pepper Tree Lane where Gelato Paradiso is. The vibe of Rum Social is unparalleled to other Laguna Beach establishments. It's reminiscent of New Orleans Square at Disneyland. Downstairs was not yet open for dinner and is where their traditional dining is, but upstairs at their bar is where we enjoyed an afternoon cocktail. I had high hopes for their drinks but my husband and I were both disappointed as we rarely have bad cocktails and I was especially blindsided to have that experience here. Our drinks lacked flavor and were watered down. I've noticed other reviews on cocktails say the same. It seemed like alot of their mixer ingredients (the citruses) are pre-made and diluted. I can't quite pinpoint how they could be so off but it was a no-go for us.

Great food, great ambiance, and fantastic service! Special shout-out to our server, Christian. He was wonderful.
Be the first to ReplyAmazing dinner experience from start to finish.
This buzzy spot is perfect for a night out in LB. Food and drinks were flavorful and unique! Service was flawless... Yes there were some delays from the bar/kitchen since the place was packed and they are still building up staff but our server Christian more than made it up to us with multiple apologies and two desserts on the house. Can't wait to go back, maybe try happy hour and check out the bar!
Be the first to ReplyCute restaurant with nice California vibe.
They have a good wine selection and the drinks looked good too but didn't get one. Interesting menu items and really liked the plantains. I'm not sure if I'd go back but happy I tried it! They also have a bar next door that looked popping!
