Third time not a charm
I so want to Love this place, but at each attempt, I'm more and more disappointed. I have tried the Fried Chicken Sandwich (it was dry). Roasted Brussel Sprouts (they were dripping in butter and cheese), Rice (boring and flavorless) and recently the baked potato. I was not feeling well and wanted something comforting, such as the Baked Potato. It sounded delicious even though it was stupidly expensive @ $10.00. Restaurant description - Buttered Baked Potato topped with Chipotle Yogurt, Crispy Chicken Skins, Scallions, Fried Onion, Cotija, Herbs (Mint, Dill, Parsley) My experience, it was MASSIVE and more like a "twice baked" potato. It was covered in the Cotija cheese on top (no butter or Chipolte Yogurt anywhere on the potato). There was so much "cheese only on the top" it stunk ! Granted, it's a stinky cheese. It was also dry, no butter or yogurt. And, the worst for me, because it was more like a twice baked potato, it was all smushy like mashed. That is "not a baked potato" call it what it is - Twice Baked.
Be the first to ReplyExcellent vegetable dishes/ highly recommend
My family stopped at this restaurant while visiting in San Francisco. The owner greeted us warmly, and we ordered several dishes and shared them. All of it was good, but we highly recommend the broccoli dish and the brussel sprouts. They make a special sauce that they drizzle over each of these vegetables that is so tasty. Everyone raved about it. And it was healthy too. We are definitely going back again the next time we visit San Francisco.
Be the first to ReplyTasty chicken spot
This is a fast-casual spot specializing in rotisserie chicken dishes. I had the chicken sandwich and umami fries, both of which were tasty. A little on the pricey side, but not super expensive.

I came by this restaurant all the time on my way to/back from the SF Library to my Airbnb. It's a good place to stop by and enjoy some good sandwiches. The prices are pretty reasonable, especially for a city like SF, and the service is quick and efficient. It can get fairly crowded around dinner time, so expect a wait if you wish to sit at a table. Overall, I highly recommend this restaurant.

Our first visit (won't be our last) was most successful. The shredded cabbage & almond salad, the roasted Brussels sprout Caesar, RT salad and lamb rice bowl with honey mustard were all excellent.
Be the first to ReplySo delicious and well priced!
A friend took me here for dinner and I loved it so much, I returned the next night. The food here is so fresh and light and delicious. I have tried the chicken salad, chicken and rice soup, sweet potato, cauliflower, and dessert and everything was absolutely fantastic. I kind of can't rave enough about how much I loved the food. It is all perfectly cooked and light/healthy, and is also creative. Like the cauliflower, which was perfectly cooked and had a nice, light crunch on the outside, was bathed in a beet tahini sauce that was so yummy. And I don't know how they make sweet potatoes taste like dessert (while still being healthy), but they did. The salad and soup both had wonderful herbs that made them so unique and yummy. And the software serve (not too sweet, a little salty) and mint chocolate cookie desserts were amazing. The restaurant is very casual. It seemed crowded both times we went but by the time we ordered, a worker had cleared off a table for us. Service is incredibly friendly and efficient. The food is well priced too. Both times I went, I found free street parking close by, even on a Friday night! I highly recommend this place. In fact, I'm going to eat the meal I bought from them to-go last night right now!
Be the first to ReplyA little gem!
Rich’s Table is one of best and hardest-to-get-into restaurants in SF. But their casual, order-at-the-counter spot is equally good but more casual and accessible. Menu revolves around best rotisserie chicken but not limited by it. Great veggies, salads, wine But limited desserts. Great spot for casual, great meal in Civic Center. Not right by Symphony Hall or Opera house (but easily walkable)but across street from SF Conservatory of Music. This is casual (and take out spot) that is well-done with great attention to detail.
Be the first to ReplyAlmost everything was sooo good; a highlight of our visit
My daughter based in SF took us here for lunch when we recently visited. We queued up to order as is the process. But despite it being crowded and us being a big group (my wife's cousin's family joined us) we were able to get a table without much wait. We left it to my daughter to order. We had the roasted chicken as main, a number of side veggie dishes and the fat rice. Wow, the chicken was so tasty and succulent, and almost all the side veggie dishes were delicious. The fat rice was sooo good, too, as everyone in our table gushed, kind of like the Singapore chicken rice that we all love. We enjoyed it so much that when my other daughter from Vancouver arrived a couple of days later to join our holiday, we came back for another great lunch. Definitely a highlight of our trip.

Very limited menu but what they have is DELICIOUS. The ribs and the chicken are succulent and tasty. Do not ignore the specials because they often really are special. The umami fries are worth the calories. Just a note on how the place works. You order and pay at the counter and THEN you are directed to a table. You usually get your order within 5 minutes. This is not a linger and relax place but the total tab will delight you. BTW, two people can easily share one chicken order, it's big. The salads were a delight.
Be the first to ReplyNice place, delicious food, crowded at dinner time
Tried to go to this place for dinner a number of times but it's fully packed at dinner time. So one day, I went before 6 PM and I was so lucky. The place is very cozy and cute. The food was delicious! Big portion but so yum and light that I was able to eat both dishes. I tried the Roasted Cauliflower with red beet tahini and the RTR Salad with chicken. Recommend them both although I was surprised that the chicken in the salad was hot and not cold. It tasted a bit off at the beginning especially since it was served on aromatic seeds, so the heat from the chicken activated those aromas in a not-so-nice way. But once the chicken cooled down, the smell and taste were much better.
