Good Neapolitan Pies and top-notch Focaccia
Owned by Caitlin and Daniel Cutler Ronan serves Neapolitan Pizza that eschews tradition in favor of local Produce and Proteins inside an understated space with a patio on Melrose. Opened in 2018 and surviving the pandemic with take-out, 2023 adding Sunday Brunch to nightly Dinner service, it is after eyes adjust to the darkened interior that diners sit in posh booths perusing a menu of inspired plates, Pies, biodynamic Wines and Cocktails. In many ways a neighborhood Pizzeria, assuming the neighborhood is attuned to Wood-Oven Pizzas featuring a bubbly Crust with lots of char and chewiness, New Yearโs Eve found Ronan offering Caviar in several styles including as an addition to fluffy Focaccia served piping-hot alongside Cultured Butter. Varying the menu seasonally, Brunch additionally quite different from Dinner, Pizzas arrive coursed out in no less than twenty minutes with Margherita expectedly excellent as a result of imported Tomatoes, Basil an Mozz plus a bit of Pecorino. Also featuring a black marble bar within earshot of the oven, perfect for solo diners or couples wanting to watch Dough stretched and fired, Brunchโs Green Eggs & Ham riffs on Dr. Seuss with Mortadella and Ricotta plus a runny Organic Egg while โA Tuscan Winterโ puts locally grown Japanese Persimmons on display amidst a backdrop of local Honey and Squash Blossoms.

This place is awesome! Food is so good and the menu is very thoughtfully planned out. Can't wait to try everything! Very good for romantic date, business, and also casual dinner too.
Be the first to ReplyGreat gourmet pizza and Italian experience
The menu is rather limited at Ronan, but what they offer they do well. The pizzas are ambitious and creative and delicious. The carrots are amazing. The offer free bottle s of sparkling water. The service is good and they play great music. When cold the outside is actually warmer than the inside b/c of the enclosed patio w heaters. Prices are reasonable. The cocktails and mocktails look amazing though I did not try the night I went.

My husband is a bona fide pizza snob who grew up in NYC. We love Neopolitan style pizza and this place has got it dialed in. Nice outdoor patio (where we enjoyed our meal) but there is also a nice indoor dining room. Staff were warm, friendly and efficient.

Wow, this was probably the best pizza place ever!
We came 2 families with kids, booked a place a day before. We order a few pizzas (Margherita, Brooklyn, Spicy Chomper), all were amazingly good! The wood-fired fucaccia was amazing as well.
We will come back for sure!
Food witchcraft!
What just happened? I may have eaten one of the better meals ever at Ronan. So fabulous. Great vibe, wonderful service. But it is the food!
The bread starter may have been the best bread ever. Everything we ordered was delicious. Cacio Pepe was super peppery and creamy. The clams were wild. Imagine a bowl of spicy clams with an entire pizza crust baked around it! Why hasn't anyone thought of that before? The โwood oven cheesecakeโ is more like a rich creamy flan and was outstanding. I need to go back later this week to eat all the items I didn't get to the first time. Amazing meal.
Different but Not bad!
Was excited to try. I read a LOT of the reviews and some of them were hilarious. Ok....the burrata cheese and focaccia bread delicious. Their version of a caesar salad was really good but tell them to hold back on the amount of salad dressing. The pizza to sour ...yes, it's sourdough pizza dough which is odd in itself then with drizzled vinegar on top was kinda gross. Drinks great...service awesome. Atmosphere was popping! I always judge a restaurant based on when I leave am I craving anything and I would say "the burrata cheese" but should have been more impressed. I would try it again if they had more pasta options. OH....if you are a wine lover like me...note they have a small wines by the bottle list and only natural wines so you may want to bring a bottle or two...good corkage prices.

Very bad service
Very bad attitude
100% unrespectful
Don't waste your time, there are plenty of restaurants in LA with much better service. Sad to see such as service after all this lockdown, I was sure that restaurants will improve their service and attitude and understand that nothing is granted
Alt eats amazing food at Ronan LA
Great dinner!!! Best chicken with pistachio pesto; stinging nettle risotto; perfect margarita pizza; pomegranate scallop crudo; Caesar salad. We all shared and we too full for dessert. Chef Daniel Cutler and his creations have never disappointed!!!

We have now been here 4 times and this is truly the best pizza in LA. The "sweet cheeks" with ricotta, cacio e pepe honey, and guanciale is incredible - best pizza ever! The lettuce salad with cucumber viniagrette is perfect. And the desserts - wood fired cheesecake and chocolate rye tart with caramel - were wonderful. Also enjoyed the Tres Tacos cocktail!

Very bad service, we were not advised that this is a family style restaurant.
We were three couples, each person ordered their own food, three plates arrived in ten minute intervals after waiting for half an hour, so three people ate and the other three watched them eat.
The other 3 orders, of which 2 were pizzas, came in after 45 minutes.
When we asked the waitress why it took so long, her answer was that their wood burning oven could only bake 3 pizzas at a time.
Further more, we ordered a round of drinks and we were never asked if we wanted a second round.
Service was terrible and the food was just ok.
I wouldnโt recommend this restaurant.
Definitely not a Michelin standard.
