Solid Cuisine in an Elegant Setting
Wine list is diverse but not impressive Cuisine is well executed, with dishes that clearly are deeply thought-out, and full of interesting contrasts Service is good

After a friendly welcome we arrived in the oldest room in Amsterdam. Your imagination cannot help but take you back to 1885. The maître also ensures that the history of this beautiful room is highlighted. Chef Tristan has very beautiful dishes. Its flavors, textures and all the surprise elements made eating an unforgettable experience... again! But let me not forget the sommelier, what a nice young man who enthusiastically took us on the wine tour. The wines matched seamlessly with the fantastic dinner. We were really pampered by the entire white room team. All in all a great evening you will never forget. See you soon!

So happy to spend our wedding anniversary at such a delicious restaurant! The service of the outside staff is just right, and they are always concerned about the dining situation. The environment is very elegant, and the price at noon is also approachable! The point is that the meal is excellent, every dish is unique yet delicious!

During my stay at the Anantara Krasnapolsky Hotel I had the pleasure of dining in the 1* Michelin rated The White Room restaurant. I had dined there before so I had some reference. The restaurant itself is a royal picture, very attractively decorated and has allure. I had previously experienced The White Room as classic, very classic in everything, the service very formal and sleek and I still remember the dishes as classic. But something has clearly changed, the service led by Maître Bram Hommes is less formal and therefore looser and I also experienced it as friendly and attentive. And I am convinced that with the new Portuguese sommelier Frederico Caultier Parain de Figueiredo they have finally found someone who matches the level of this star restaurant. This evening I opted for the 7-course Gold Menu, which also includes appetizers. I also had the matching wine arrangement. I thought the 'gambero rosso' and the 'attic bacon' clearly stood out, very refined flavors and therefore WoW moments. I also enjoyed the refined flavors of the main course 'duck' and the last course 'lobster' was a particularly nice ending. Compliments to Chef Tristan de Boer. During the evening, sommelier Frederico served delicious matching wines. Very nice evening and I will be back soon.

A very enjoyable evening. The service and food was top notch. We both did the tasting menu with wine pairing. My partner did the vegetarian option. As an avid meat eater this might be the first time when trying my partners dishes that was I was jealous. Mine were amazing but hers were beautiful. The pumpkin dish was a highlight.Wine pairings were excellent and different to wine we would normally order. The service was great from all the staff especially the front of house manager and sommelie. The dining room is also great with a nice atmosphere.

Enchanting Amsterdam: White Room's Symphony of Flavors Chef Boerma's culinary artistry at The White Room (Nov 30th, 2023) was a masterpiece. Exquisite dishes, meticulous plating, and innovative flavors redefined our dining experience. Impeccable service, blending expert knowledge and respect, elevated the meal further. A symphony of taste in a sophisticated setting, The White Room is a must for unforgettable Amsterdam gastronomy.
Be the first to ReplyElegant and fun date night experience
The White Room was the perfect date night dinner and we elected to experience the Gold tasting menu that included 7 courses in addition to a wine pairing with each dish. The atmosphere is elegant without being stuffy, and each member of the staff were beyond accommodating, warm, engaging and informative throughout the entire evening. From our hostess/cocktail server, the sommelier, chef, and main server, they all worked so well together as a team and were true delights. Each course was delivered in great timing, never feeling rushed. Not to mention, they somehow managed to marry mushroom, dark chocolate, and a champagne foam to create the most interesting and exciting dessert. To say it was such a fun, elegant experience would be an understatement. We look forward to coming back on future trips.

Absolutely stunning dining room. Service very good. Nice touch was to have the chef who created each dish serve it to you. Each dish was very tasty. Mainly fish which I love but if you don’t this is not the place for you. We had a lovely meal however part way through a cheese cabinet was wheeled to the table next to us. I have a very strong sense of smell and this made me feel rather sick. Although I tried to signal for the cabinet to be moved as the smell was rather overwhelming it remained next to our table for a very long time until finally we asked for it to be moved. Would possibly recommend Spectrum over The White Room if you only have time to visit one or the other…..

We had a large group coming here for a celebratory dinner in Krasnapolsky Wintergarden ballroom. The restaurant is in a beautifully decorated room with very tall ceiling. We were several hundred people dining, and inevitably the service was a bit slow, but the food was marvelous and the staff were courteous. We did not stay at the hotel, but those who do must feel they are treated as kings.

Excellent food and service. Some servings quite spicy and also some surprises. Good wine pairing from less known producers.

We were staying at the Grand K hotel and made reservations at the restaurant for 3. It turns out our reservations got changed to their other restaurant so when we got to the restaurant, the host was utterly impolite and told us to leave right away. Mind you, we are staying at the hotel and spending $800 a night for the room. Utterly inhospitable.

We are foodies and went to dinner knowing this restaurant has 1 Michelin star. We were not disappointed. The welcome, the knowledge of the sommelier, the friendlyness of all the staff, the perfect service...And then the food : daring combinations, nicely presented, with perfect quantities of food so you can still enjoy course 9 without being overly full. We will not be surprised if this restaurant gets a second MIchelin star soon.
Be the first to ReplyTerrible food
I have to say one of the most disappointing food experience ever. I was thinking the oven was broke. We had a taster menu. Most courses where fish dishes who where raw or undercooked and which was followed by a undercooked pigeon dish. On top of the food was very bland and every dish felt similar. Don’t waste your money don’t go!

Me and my family were staying at the Krasnapolsky hotel and had booked to go to the white room for dinner and had booked the 9 course taster meal. We were all very excited and our expectations were high. Unfortunately it was a extremely disappointing experience. For starters 7 out of the 9 courses were all fish. Although there was nothing wrong with the food it was all raw or undercooked. We spoke to the chef about this and he said that this was his style which is completely fair enough however all of the courses were almost the same. Not only this but the main course was pigeon and was inedible and we had to send it back. This whole meal costed us £13000 for 6 of us. However the service was very good and everybody was very kind and welcoming.

The White Room in the venerable Krasnapolsky Hotel is a very special restaurant. The ambience is "Belle Epoque" , the service is faultless. The chef Jacob Jan Boerma is a Master of his craft, (well worthy of his Michelin Stars), every course on the special Valentines Day menu was a delightful culinary surprise. Unusual ingredients brought together to tantalise the taste buds ( Yes.. were were IMPRESSED !) Of special note were the King Fish and Pigeon courses, truly delicious. If you are in Amsterdam for a special occasion, then The White Room should not be missed.

The location is very good . The restaurant has comfortable chairs and there is enough spaces between the tables . All the tables have a good position which is a plus. The room is really pleasant. But the food and beverage were disappointing . First the quality. I would say that it’s not so good. Then it doesn’t feel like a Michelin star. The look, the taste, the sauces combinations. 2 dishes had the same dill sauce. The majority of the dishes had crackers inside, the same concept, even the desert had something to crack - popcorn . Not sophisticated , lack of refinement. The pairing wine was not so great, the first 4 white wines were almost the same: fruity, some of them apple tones, acidity, … They don’t have a sommelier which is strange for a Michelin restaurant. The services were good but not exceptional . Nobody ask us how was the food. My partner didn’t want mushrooms so he didn’t receive at all the main course based on meat although the mushrooms were aside on that dish. Instead he received a vegetarian dish although he is not vegetarian and we booked for the Golden menu with meat. So he basically missed the main course. Anyway by the time of the dessert they forgot about the mushrooms problem and they served to him a mushroom based dessert… I think that fair good quality food would be much more appreciated in that lovey location
