Restaurant Maison Rouge Colmar Reviews from The Last Year
Unfavorable
Frankly disappointed, very expensive and tasteless dish. I do not recommend this restaurant. We canceled our dessert so disappointed
Bistronomic and good value for money for lunch
Very good value for money for the lunch menu, good bistronomic cuisine, interesting wines by the glass
Unfortunately, our expectations were not met
We ate here because of the Michelin rating. The salmon was delicious, nicely presented, the ox cheek was also tasty, the dough for the agnolotti was too thick, the fish was lukewarm and a bit dry... The price/performance ratio is not right. Only 2 service staff are not enough for this level.
Good meal
Positive points: small menu, excellent duck foie gras with Jurançon, mastered cooking of fish (arctic char and pollack fillet), very good bread. Negative points: very “old fashion” restaurant room, very dark, uncomfortable wooden chairs. Extremely long service. Gnocchi served with the back of tasteless pollack.
Friendly gastronomique hidden gem in Colmar
Visually stunning and fresh delicious food with fresh herb accents and gastronmique French sauces, le Maison Rouge is *chefs kiss* highly recommended. Exceptional “deep tracks” wine list (39 pages! 🍷) and an upbeat friendly vibe.
A dinner full of flavors
After several meals in this restaurant, whether for lunch or dinner; each time I am pleasantly surprised. Concerning the dishes, perfect cooking, combination of flavors, differences in textures. And for the wines, just as delicious. The service is always smiling, warm, the products are local and homemade. The pastries are incredible. Not liking fish, the chef took up the challenge, and once again no complaints, I loved it. For lunch or dinner, for two or with friends, the Maison Rouge restaurant in Petit Jean will be the right address. We look forward to returning quickly to feast our eyes and taste buds. Thank you for this culinary and wine experience.
Good food, poor service
Aperitif with too hot Crémant (it wasn't cold from the fridge), truffle tagliolini and beef fillet off paper without price indications (€70 per dish), furthermore they didn't explain to me that it was with foie gras (which I had to throw away ) Excellent wagyu meat. Poor service, red wine uncorked and left on the table without trying it!! To pay the bill I solicited 4 waiters in half an hour! In short, the chef is good but he needs a good maitre de salle! I don't think I'll be back.....
Refined cuisine to satisfy gourmet palates
Pleasant welcome, in a slightly old-fashioned setting. Refined French cuisine and prices to match. But a taste of too little on the plate. Exceptional regional wines (notably a pinot noir from Eguisheim).
Very good but salty! (dish and addition)
My boyfriend loves good food and is a professional, so this listed restaurant seemed perfect to us, not far from the city center and therefore the Christmas markets. Friendly welcome, they let me find the coat rack to put mine on (large coat so impossible to leave it on a chair).... Short and efficient menu, the prices are quite high, so what do we expect? perfect! Very good entry, nothing to complain about. We chose the Wagyu beef entrecôte, served in sauce with 2 roasted sucrines and hazelnut potatoes. Ouch, it's salty, very salty, too salty. I finish my dish given the price, my friend doesn't, blocked by too much salt. I notify the young waitress, then another waiter comes to see us to tell us that it is only the sauce that provides this salt, that there is no added salt (WE SEE THE SALT CRYSTALS ON THE MEAT). In short, no desserts, no coffee. I go to the toilet, the waiter urges the man to pay. I come back to the table, we leave, not even a goodbye from the team.
General disappointment
General disappointment! We booked at this restaurant because, as indicated on the video on their website, we hoped to be able to eat spit-roasted ham and other regional specialties there. Alas, none of this is on the menu! We therefore referred it to the waiter who, unaware of anything, sent us one of these colleagues who then explained to us that the management of the restaurant had to change and therefore by logical deduction chef and menu as well!!! After consulting the menu we note the limited choice of dishes (5 starters and 5 main courses) and especially the exorbitant prices (more than 20€ for a starter and around 30 for a dish, without mentioning the suggestions of the day at €60 and €75 respectively)!!! Being 4 people and especially disappointed by the lack of choice, 2 of us each take a dish and the other 2 prefer to take only one starter (this one at 25€) When placing an order we are told that the Starters will be charged an additional €10 (each) because they are not hot dishes and that is the house policy! The only explanation provided is that certain Parisian establishments practice this policy and therefore we do the same in this Colmar restaurant! Obviously I will spare you the derogatory remarks from the waiter.... who, despite the situation, was trying to be humorous. Finally the dishes arrive and for my part a new disappointment: my fish fillet is bathed in a sauce that I would describe as sour/sweet and which dominates all the other ingredients! For the other RAS dishes, the other 3 people were more or less satisfied. In short, we regret the former owners who certainly produced local cuisine but of quality and attractive price, quite the opposite of the current owner! If you are looking for traditional cuisine and a warm and professional place, you are not at the right address

Prepaid Reservation Fee

When you sell a reservation that has a prepaid fee AT takes a commission on that fee. This doesn’t really make sense because it’s an expense the seller incurs not part of the profit that is shared.
For example:
Carbone NYC fee to book table for 2 is $108.88
If you sell it for $200 on AT you get $140 from them.
Your net profit is $31 and AT collects $60 in fees.
It would make more sense not to charge commission on the upfront fee as this creates a disincentive and results in higher costs for buyers.

Agreed. Ultimately not addressing this month after month is clearly resulting in a drop in certain venue’s rankings & sales.
