Restaurant _ L'Epicurien Colmar Reviews from The Last Year
Restaurant where you eat well but it's a shame that the welcome and the atmosphere are a little cold
We ate very well there. The restaurant is well decorated, clean and quiet. Small downside for the welcome and the somewhat cold atmosphere...
Great discovery
Very nice discovery, the meal was excellent. The suggestion was veal it was delicious the meat melted in your mouth.
Alright
The cuisine is very good, very nice wine list. The service is efficient, but not very friendly. We recommend this restaurant.
Pleasant setting but really mediocre reception and cuisine
Friendly setting! This is what made us want to go there! On the other hand, the welcome...icy! Barely 3 words and no comments on the dishes offered… We had starter and main course: the shrimp carpacco has no taste and looks more like a large sheet of gelatin! The scallops were well cooked but some had a weird taste! And the piece of meat served with fries and a rosette of cauliflower doesn't cost the €35 you ask for! In short, a very salty addition…150€ for 2 without dessert! It’s way too expensive for what it is! And what’s more, indigestion for both!!
To do again
The dishes offered were well prepared, presented and excellent. Friendly and responsive staff. The place is tastefully decorated and you feel good there.
A wonderful surprise
We first chose another restaurant...but it did not accept our 3 kilo Yorkshire which is their right. No problem at L'Épicurien. Excellent menu between main course and dessert, choice certainly limited but the whole thing was for a reasonable price. Service a little long but friendly, a waitress was absent Great quality of dishes, the pork was cooked to perfection. Crème brûlée really burned in front of us, a delight We loved this meal. We recommend .
Very good and great wine list
We went there with winegrower friends, who had recommended this restaurant to me for the wine list. There are some that are unaffordable of course at more than €2000, but also some very good ones with reasonable prices. The menu is also very beautiful, simple dishes but well prepared with very good quality products for very reasonable prices. The service is very friendly, the setting pleasant, nothing to complain about
Finally
We returned to Colmar with friends and not being able to eat on our first visit to the city five years ago, this year we booked in advance. We had a great time, everything was delicious. Compliments
All very good
I had dinner at this restaurant and I had a great time, I specified that I needed a gluten free meal and without any problem they served me an excellent dinner. Close to Colmar market, I recommend.
Very good
Great place, great menu, great food. Six of us ate here whilst on a 2 night stay. Location is very central and easy to get to and the setting and decor very nice indeed. Great menu with plenty of choice all cooked to perfection and fresh high quality. I had Scallops Gratin followed by fillet steak. Extremely good although crème brûlée was a bit thin and runny. The menu was all in French and I know we was in France but Most places have and English version, so we had to Google translate a lot but got there in the end. The staff whilst not unfriendly they didn’t come across as over friendly but sometimes that’s the French way with the English I think. The service was still good. Overall would I go again, yes. Would I recommend it, yes based on the the food, location and setting.
Great time
Relaxing and calm atmosphere Very good cuisine, Service as fast as it is efficient A good time I recommend
Good food, hostile service
Pleasant ambience in the room. Food good rather than stellar. It sells itself as modern European, but something which sounded fancy turned out to be (more or less) steak and chips. I wasn't complaining - I like steak and chips. What we did complain about however was the wine - the bottle we ordered was quite clearly corked. The waitress replaced it with one which, I think, in other circumstances we might have sent back too, although it was nothing like so bad as the first. What prevented us was the waitress - unsmiling, taciturn, unapologetic. We didn't have the balls to go through the rigmarole again. I know this is France, but from her demeanour anyone would have thought they were doing us a favour. Not very enjoyable.
Stunning Food
We weren't booked in but stopped on the way past to see if we could get a table for two after reading the trip advisor reviews. The lady in the restaurant was very helpful and managed to fit us in. This is a busy restaurant with a lovely atmosphere. The tables are located in a way that felt as if you were private from other guests and no one was looking onto your plate or table. Staff were excellent and advised us on a dry Riesling which from Alsace region. Absolutely wonderful. Both of us chose the Entrecote of Veal with shrimps, sweet potato puree and veg with an interesting gravy. Beautiful. We followed this up with cheese board to die for. Overall, this place is a delight to visit and would certainly recommend to anyone visiting Colmar.

I have some reservations coming up tomorrow that have gotten lots of views but haven’t sold yet. I haven’t made a sale yet since I just joined this week. I keep lowering the price, but am worried they won’t sell. How long did it take you to sell your first reservations? And did you have success being reimbursed by AT for no-show or cancellation fees? Just looking for a little reassurance. Thanks!

You should probably cancel prior to the cancellation date per the cancellation policy. I would imagine you would only get reimbursed for a sold listing if you happen to be charged?

My first sale took about a week. But as the other commenter said stay ontop of your cancellation windows. There’s no reimbursement for those so make sure you cancel in time then just try again.
