I'm torn on how to review this restaurant because there are really two parts to this review, getting to the restaurant and the restaurant itself. I'll start with the getting there... The restaurant sits behind gates and you have to call on arrival to get a unique one time only code to open the gates. There are a few problems with this. First, there is zero cell service (at least from American phones) in this area so calling the restaurant on arrival like they ask isn't an option. Second, all the restaurants behind the gates have a list of the same codes so you may have to go through 2,3,5? codes to find one that will open the gate for you that wasn't previously used. We waited in a line of cars an hour long and every single car had the exact same issues. 95% of the people could not get through the gate. Since we had no cell service, I resorted to hopping out of the car and running to the restaurant to get the code and then back to my husband only to find the code didn't work...after 3 times of running the 1/4 mile each way we gave up and my husband parked in a lot 2 miles away and walked back. By this time our reservations were nearly 2 hours overdue. I was hot, tired, irritated beyond belief, and absolutely starving. The Restaurant We were seated without issue and the restaurant employees acted like our experience was not at all uncommon. They were very understanding of our late arrival and even seated us while we waited for my husband to park the car and walk the 2 miles back to the restaurant. Once he got there, everything changed. Our waiter brought cool water for the table, we ordered his recommendations and he was very knowledgeable of my celiac disease, gluten free needs. He recommended a wine based off of our dinner orders and I can honestly say it is the best wine I have ever had! My only regret was that I didn't take a picture and now cannot remember what it was! The carrot soup was incredible (warning, there is a bit of fois gras in the soup if you'd prefer to leave it off...that was a surprise I wish I had known. It was not listed at that time on the menu.). The meals were beautiful, filling, and delicious. The atmosphere is lovely. A very charming old French farm motif. The cost was very reasonable for the value of the meal we had. We all had creme brûlée for desert and it was as spectacular as the meal. We enjoyed every bit of this restaurant ONCE WE ALL MADE IT THROUGH THE DOOR. I truly hope the area can find a way to better accommodate the patrons of the restaurants. We almost just walked away out of frustration. I'm so glad we stuck with it. It was definitely worth it!
