Surprise
It was American friends who introduced us to this gem! A shame for old Strasbourg residents that we are! The welcome, the creative and delicious dishes, the wine list. No false notes. To recommend without hesitation.

Seasonal products, refined cuisine, excellent rolls, very good wines, impeccable service. In short, everything to please in this pretty setting. Good gastro

Cozy atmosphere. A bit outdated setting. Red tuna ceviche: 3 slices of tuna loin, without flavor, accompanied by an original mustard sorbet, priced at €28, or more than €9 per strip! Excellent scallops, thick and nicely browned on a bed of spelled. Semi-cooked chocolate without originality. In short, poorly prepared cuisine with excessive prices. Robustly priced wine list.

If you have the budget, don't hesitate to go there (the prices are a little overrated) However, we found ourselves there by chance and we did not regret our detour. Very nice establishment, welcoming, cozy and very elegant. The kitchen is just as much. The dishes are delicious and beautifully presented. Excellent address in Strasbourg.

Super good food excellently served on a small side street. I would love to come here again. High quality of all ingredients very well prepared and beautifully laid out

Nice little restaurant. The menu offers 3 different dishes for each course or a set menu per table. Extensive wine list. Unfortunately I didn't have a meat dish as a main course. The food was tasty but not that exceptional. Prices: if you pay €5.50 for an espresso, you can imagine the prices...

The food is excellent, with good service. I can only recommend this intimate and warm place.

This was one of the best meals we had during our week in France. (We had several more expensive meals in both Paris and Strasbourg that we liked much less). Atmosphere was cozy and felt a little insulated from the crazy crowds of the Christmas Market. Service very friendly and good. Highly recommend!

My sister and I are visiting Strasbourg and went to Gavroche for her birthday dinner. The meal, the setting, and the service were perfect in every way. We had the prix fix menu with the wine pairings. One of the two owners, Lucile, manages service in the restaurant as if you were a guest in her home. The restaurant is tiny and she walks each guest to the door as they leave. She asked our wine preference and selected the perfect alsacienne wines fore each course. I’m uploading photos of our meal. The little touches were just lovely. The amuse bouche of a jellied wine with a creamed cheese was such a nice way to start. Our first course was a fresh duck pate coated in tiny pieces of candied peanuts with slivers of pickled red onion, roasted plums, and thinly sliced radishes. Our second course was sea bass in a parsnip potato cream sauce and included perfectly cooked fennel and small potato/ parsnip balls fried but creamy on inside and dusted with green maybe parsley. Our third course was veal tartare seasoned with just the right amount of mint and lime. The bread throughout was amazing - crusty dinner rolls the size of golf balls. Finally our dessert was roasted grapes with lime sorbet sitting on an almond cookie which was on a zabaglione type cream. And there was quelque choses. A tiny nest of chocolate pieces on which sat a handmade marshmallow, truffle, and cantaloupe melon ball for each of us. A magic and delicious dinner from start to finish.

We called the place on the Easter eve to fond out it is fully booked… but an hour later, having been wandering in Strasbourg’s old town, we turned in to the right alley just by coincidence. And seeing the door to the restaurant, we decided to knock and ask for a table - which they had due to a “no show” of one of their reservations. The place is very cozy - only 9 tables for couples. Serves “a la carte” or a fixed menu. 3-4 options for each type of portion. Food quality and taste is very good. Attention to the details as we’ll as to the service. Ster politeness which I could not relate to either the character of the owner or the type of place… notes as “Michelin “ although not a star awarded level…. Worth it for a special occasion or if you like fine dining in beautiful cities.

This restaurant was full on a Friday evening. Reservations are essential. Our party of 2 had the 4 course menu which allowed for some choices and it was excellent. There is also an a la crate menu. The amuse bouche of foie mousse was yummy, the fish course excellent with a beautiful presentation, the bread was some of the best we had on our 10 day France trip. This was one of our best meals of our France trip. My only complaint was that the kitchen was a little slow and there was a very long lag between our fish and main course. But I would highly recommend this restaurant.

Had an excellent meal at this famous restaurant and it certainly lived up to its reputation. The food was awesome and well presented , the have a great wine list too. If you are looking at a top end meal then this is one of the places

We really enjoyed this place and only had one small “improvement area”. The food was amazing, the waiter very competent and the room very comfortable. For some reason there was the feel of having to be quiet which made it a bit… cold? Maybe it was the day, or the guests, but some music could potentially change the mood, for us.
