My wife and I walked into the restaurant and were told to wait. We waited for about 20 minutes only to be told they were shorthanded, and they couldn’t take people in for the evening. The person (male) that helped or didn’t bother to help was rude and when I told him why didn’t he tell us that when we first walked in his reply was “I was busy”. Walked out and will never come back again.

This place is exciting the atmosphere is great it very intimate and cozy. The food is amazing but they portion are not that big and you have to cook the food your self. I must say this is a road trip worthy restaurant.

I have been here a number of times, Call ahead and reserve a table, put on your drinking shoes and head on out, the Cap steak is awesome, you cant go wrong, atmosphere can get loud, buts its a fun loud, live music on the weekends, its a solid spot to make a memorable evening. Drinks are some of the best in redlands, beer selection is solid, Get here early parking sucks on the weekends...

Out shopping a new town and stopped in for a drink. The bar was large and plenty of beer on tap. We did not eat, but the menu looked very good as it is a Fondu setting. We will be back to try at a later Date.

Rok N Fondue specializes in two things: fondue (of various varieties -- the cheese fondues are great) and sizzling specialties on a very, very hot iron platter. My favorite dinner here is cheese fondue followed by a sizzling filet with all of the accompaniments, and -- of course -- a nice bottle of wine. The restaurant, located on State Street, is upstairs-downstairs, with the bar and some dining tables downstairs and a lot more tables on the second floor overlooking the bar. Service is prompt and friendly.
Be the first to ReplyRok N Fondue in Redlands is a must have experience.
We had a birthday dinner at the Rok N Fondue in Redlands. The waiter (Colin Jones) explained everything about the fondue choices in detail and we ordered two to start off the evening. After the drinks were delivered the foudue was prepared at the table step by step and it was good (could have eaten one of every kind, but had to save room for the main course). Our group ordered Filet Mignon, Cab Sirloin Steak, Ahi Tuna Tartare and a Ground Filet Mignon Hamburger all with side dishes. The hot rok’s were brought to each of us at the table (the roc’s are heated to 900 degrees) with the raw meat on them along with the side dishes. Our waiter had given us a tutorial on this type of cooking and he was GREAT. With this type of cooking you get your meat cooked the way you like it. Now for the down side of this visit, all of the side dishes were only warm (when delivered) and it is a little difficult to heat them up on the hot stone (I tried) I had mashed potatoes and green beans with bacon. We had a nice table back in a corner, but the bar in on the main floor and it was very noisy and got worse when the bar filled up. Our tab for five people was $140 without the drinks. But if you have never experienced the hot rock cooking it is well worth the visit and the expense.

We ate at the bar so we were limited in regards to our choices. We had the pork loin and steak. I liked my side selections of orzo and broccoli. The bar tender was attentive and helpful. The virgin margarita was also tasty.

Our meals were served on individual hot rocks in which the meat was cooked right in front of us. We needed to turn the meat every few minutes. The food was excellent, but the service was slow.
