Clean, dependable and friendly
The Premier Inn is great if you want to know exactly what you’re getting. The rooms are clean and there’s always good water pressure for a hot shower. The staff are friendly and helpful, breakfast is great value and the Oban Premier Inn close to the ferry terminal.

Great location, spotlessly clean, friendly staff, comfortable bed and lovely breakfast. Wouldn’t hesitate to stay again if the price was right. I booked in October for a two night stay at the beginning of March and paid £50 a night for the room. I recently checked the prices for the remainder of March and the price has tripled. There is no way I’d pay this amount.
Be the first to ReplyCentral Location with Harbour Glimpses
Enjoyed our three night stay at the Premier Inn Oban, at the beginning of March. Location is super-central, next to the train station, ferry port and with a decent sized car park for those who drive – however there appear to be no charge points if you’re an EV owner. But given the amount of electric cars we saw, there must be a fair few around the town. Our room – 215 – on the second floor, faced the ferry port. So nice views, with harbour glimpses. The triple glazing meant that noise from outside, and arriving and departing trains was minimal. So much so, that the strange gurgling sounds made by the room’s air conditioning unit was more disturbing than anything else. We quickly fixed that problem by turning the unit off. We didn’t bother having our room serviced during our stay. There’s a table in reception with additional tea, coffee, sugar etc., if you need it. We opted for Premier Inn’s Meal Deal - breakfast and a two course evening meal. It’s good value, and is perfect when your hotel is remote. However, on this trip we felt that we should’ve supported local restaurants more, and gone out to eat in the evening. Everywhere is an easy walk. Plus I doubt the hotel restaurant gets too busy at this time of year, so we could’ve used it as a backup if we were unable to get a table anywhere else. In addition we would have liked to have relaxed in the hotel bar a little, after our evening meal. However there is very limited soft seating. And what there is, is huge and takes up a considerable amount of space. As a result you’re left sitting at your dining table. I have no problem with this if the seats are comfortable, but most seats I sat on weren’t. All members of staff, that we came into contact with, were friendly and chatty. Early on Saturday evening, I noted that local youngsters seem use the hotel’s gender-neutral toilets, on the ground floor, as their public convenience. I think I would have felt very uncomfortable if I’d wandered in there by myself, and been confronted by a group of young girls. Something for Premier Inn and their staff to keep an eye on perhaps. In summary a smashing venue for a weekend away, and I’d certainly consider it again for future trips to that part of my country.

In Oban for two days of meetings for the first time post-pandemic, I was delighted to be able to stay in a Premier Inn because of the consistent standard I have found across the brand. It made all the difference to have a properly equipped en-suite with standard fittings and a decent bed.

Excellent stay, room was very comfortable and breakfast excellent. The staff were ever so friendly and couldn’t do enough for you particularly the receptionist at checkin was very helpful with providing all the information about local area. We had Premium room overlooking the sea. Will definitely be back.

I have stayed in Premier Inn few times. Always like to come back to this hotel. Staff is very polite and helpful. Rooms are clean, fairly spacious with comfortable bed. Good breakfast and dinner also. Only negative thing I would say is wi-fi it can be unreliable from time to time. Overall happy to stay everytime.
Be the first to ReplyFirst time in premier inn Oban
We visit Oban twice a year and always stay in the seafront hotels, we opted for premier inn to see what it was like, big bonus on arriving is a free car park, Oban we found in the past can be expensive for parking so this was very welcomed. Staff were friendly and accommodating, thank you to Melissa our housekeeper who had cleaned our room prior to arrival, super clean, and also gave us a top up of tea and coffee and clean towels for our next day stay. Breakfast is plentiful here with all you can eat buffet, it’s advised on check in to book your table as it can be busy. We will be back, thank you for a wonderful stay.

First time staying in a Premier Inn Oban, lovely staff, room was spotless, breakfast had loads of choice and free car park. Hotel is 2 minutes walk from main street. Will definitely stay again. Also we even had some sun which was a great bonus.
Be the first to ReplyWe can't fault this hotel
From check in, we were seen very quickly, and given all the information we needed, served with a smile by happy enthusiastic members of staff. My 5 year old was offered a wee bag with sweeties, crayons and a colouring book. First impressions, go a long way and the staff here nailed that. The room we stayed in was clean, smelled nice and very well maintained. Buffet Breakfast was standard for a 3 star hotel. The only issue we found was the cot we were provided with for our 4 month old. Although I understand that travel cot mattresses are often thinner and feel harder than those in a permanent cot, this one was so bad we could feel all the wooden slats. We ended up sharing our bed with the baby as it was really uncomfortable and no one should ever made to sleep in one of those. We didn't complain about this as we were not too bothered about it.
