The Ambiance is certainly lovely that real old school feel that I love. The service is amazing of coarse too. The food was delish my husband loved his lamp chop he stated is was flavored well cooked with perfection. My fish branzino fish was flavored well however not as thick in size please note the management made good on this issue thank you. The Caesar salad was was excellent truly prepared with perfect dressing enhancing the crisp lettuce.

I was hesitant going in with all the so-so reviews, however I was impressed. The porterhouse is pricey and not the best I've had in NYC. Don't get me wrong, it was still delicious. However, the Wagyu ribeye outshined it. The flavor was incredible. I was also very impressed with every side we ordered: onion rings, truffled mash potatoes, and the cream of spinach with bacon. In addition, the views, atmosphere, and ambiance were top notch.

7 pm. This Porter House, Very very pricey for our non-palatable, very bland, and tough lambchops and filet mignon! My children and I just had a slice of the meat and that's it. The veggies and drinks were good. That's it. We hardly ate our food. I was so sad, unhappy, and disappointed at this restaurant. My children felt the same way, too. I just wasted my hard-earned money for these crappy food. We went home very hungry. Not worth spending your money here. Nice place but the food? Oh what a shame.

I grew up in NYC and with Michael Lamonico and his various amazing restaurants, but our dinner last night was sadly disappointing. We were immediately taken aback by the nit picky nickel and diming regarding a simple order of a Martini at the bar pre-dinner. We were charged $18 for the Martini, then an additional $5 uncharge for a regular standard vodka and - get ready - $3 for an olive. I am sure not charging me for the plastic stir in the drink was a mistake. The room is stunning and beautiful, but we found the food and quality to be lackluster and of cruise ship quality. My partner's shrimp cocktail was fine but not worth $8 a shrimp. My Caesar salary was ok, but wasn't prepared in a traditional way but instead just had the various components strewn over the lettuce instead of carefully mixed in. Our steaks were downright awful. $74 for a filet mignon cooked medium well came back well done and too dry. It was sent back and another there piece of meat delivered not three minutes latter. Although this order was cooked medium well, the small 3 or 4 ounce filet one buys at a supermarket tasted chalkey as if it was pre-cooked and just re-heated. The Kansas City strip was ok, but the meat was of a fatty substandard quality and was again cooked to raw in the middle to be enjoyed. We had a fun evening but probably won't be coming back. There are way too many excellent steak houses in NYC to be bothered. This is best for special occasions for non-foodies that come from out of town or from the suburbs. The room is amazing, food not so much.

I had a wonderful evening here with an old friend and was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the service and the food. I would definitely recommend ordering the porterhouse and a Pinot noir. The wait staff was very polite and professional, they were at my service and everything you would expect from a restaurant of this caliber. I loved Porterhouse and will come again.
Be the first to ReplyWe like this on many fronts.
We were there at Brunch so didn't eat as we would have for dinner. The food however and atmosphere were perfect for what we wanted. The hustle of the street is obvious, and we just hit this quiet peaceful wall when we got there and it was welcomed. Had a steak salad and was prepared perfectly. Liked that it just wasn't filet, and just enough of greens . Soup was great as well. Plenty of friendly service. Can't imagine you wouldn't like it here

My wife and I were heavily anticipating our lunch date @ Porter House after seeing the excellent press this steakhouse has received in recent years. We started out with the Garganelli Bolgnese (1/2 portion for our app) & it was the highlight of the meal -- definitely a must try. Our steaks were seasoned well, but were actually a bit tough and not cooked properly. We ordered them medium and they came out med-well in the middle and well on the ends. At $82 per strip, at a place like this, that is unacceptable. The caesar and sides (creamed spinach) were just okay. I was expecting to have one of the meals of my life and instead it was a very average experience. I'm wondering if something has changed post-COVID because I've had similair experiences recently at Vintage (LI), Sparks and Del Friscos. I would not recommend Porter House, average meal for top-end money.
Be the first to ReplyFantastic American Wagyu-rich and deep beef flavor.
Service was warm and made our birthday celebration feel even more meaningful. We also loved thePirate ship/Game of Thrones chandeliers and split level room. This was fine dining without a rigid attitude.
Be the first to ReplyWe celebrated our anniversary and had a great dinner.
The filet was perfect and the Tarragon Chicken juicy and tender. The manager, Tim Brown, helped us celebrate our special night with and anniversary dessert. Our waiter Victor was awesome. Recommend highly!
Be the first to ReplyThis place never disappoints.
We had dinner last night and everything was perfect. The service and the food were spot on. Everything was cooked as requested, I did hear the person behind me order a ribeye medium well and my heart cried. I love a good ribeye but I wasn't up for a big steak so I had the skirt and it was done to perfection and the flavor was off the charts. A true steakhouse experience. The wine list is deep but the wines by the glass are on point. See you next time.
Be the first to ReplyI visited with friends from out of the country.
The whole experience was just amazing . Butter tenders steak and delicious sides . Nice ambience . Will definitely come back! I recommend truffle mash potatoes and the Brussels sprouts as sides to pair with the porterhouse surely! In medium rare :))

The Porter House Bar and Grill is a beautiful space, located in at Columbus Circle. The restaurant is pretty and elegant. The tables are well spaced The maitre d' and staff were all very nice and attentive. Our habitually late friends forced us to make do with main courses and drinks only. My strip steak was excellent and cooked perfectly. My wife was less excited about her filet mignon. The steaks were accompanied by some excellently dressed watercress. The elephant in the dining room here is the prices. Dinner for four, consisting of a cocktail or glass of wine, 4 orders of steak and 4 side dishes was $550, including tax and tip. It seemed really expensive to me. This was my first trip to a steakhouse since the pandemic started, so I wondered if it was due to prices going up as a result of that and the Russia-Kiev war. Out of curiosity, I checked the prices at Keen's steakhouse, one of the archetypes of a great NY steakhouse. They were 20 to 25% less. So the nosebleed inducing prices of entrees (if you have to ask how much the Wagyu steaks cost, you cant afford them) are peculiar to this restaurant. There are a number of ways to unpack this. The Porter House's neighbors are Masa and Per Se, so a three course dinner for over $150 per person is a relative bargain. You can also look at it as paying for the beautiful space and service. We were seeing the Philharmonic at Jazz at Lincoln Center, so you couldn't ask for a more convenient location. Anyway, for a real steak dinner, the Porter House is a questionable value proposition. This may make me sound like a hater, but I'm not. I would happily return and consider ordering a more moderately priced meal, like a burger, pork chop or steak frites. Since it was my first meal at a nice steakhouse in a long time, I decided to go all in!
Be the first to ReplyThere is no question that this place is good.
The question is whether it's good enough to justify the exorbitant prices. I think the answer is no. For one, it's too noisy, and frankly the idea of paying $200-300 just to stare at your plate without being able to hear what your table companions are saying is not appealing. (And no, I don't have hearing problems...) That said, stay away for the especially overpriced meat entrees and go for fish. The swordfish in particular was almost worth the price of admission. Some of the pasta dishes are good as well, like the garganelli bolognese. Finish off by ordering a nice plate of assorted cookies with your coffee.
Be the first to ReplyWe thoroughly enjoyed our recent dinner here.
It's a lovely, upscale steakhouse with first-class food, service and ambience. And they have a really good wine list, too! here are great views out the windows though to be honest the view from our table was a bit limited. Nonetheless, the food was dazzlingly good -- the ribeye and the filet were splendid pieces of meat, cooked to our perfection (a little less than medium), and for one diner at our table, they did a rare just right. The sides were delicious, and the Cabernet we ordered was a superior wine and pretty reasonably priced. Their wine list has lots of choices, not all of them super expensive. Our servers were outstanding: friendly, very knowledgeable, efficient and just downright professional in all aspects of the evening. We let we were treated as valued guests, and when you're paying this kind of cash for a meal, that's a darned good thing.
Be the first to ReplyWent here the Saturday before Valentine's Day.
Amazing. Security checked COVID vaccine cards, and ID. The hostess was friendly, and escorted us to our seats immediately. We sat in a lovely booth, which had a nice view. The servers were so super attentive, multiple servers asked if we were okay or if we needed anything. The maitre d also came around multiple times to ask if we were ok. The slab bacon was amazing, first of all. Probably one of the best I've ever had! But the wagyu rib eye!!!!! OH MY GOODNESS. Juicy, full of flavor, melt in your mouth deliciousness. The mushrooms were to die for and the creamed spinach (mr Pete's way) was so goooooood! Also for dessert, i got the coconut cake with a mango sauce on the side... wow. Just wow. Loved everything.

I'm not sure that you'll get your money's worth, but it's a nice place for a special meal...view, service, and my cowboy ribeye was perfectly charred with a medium rare core. The fat was was crisped, and when you drew your knife through the steak the liquid gold seeped out, enveloping the meat in a luscious embrace...making your tastebuds feel loved. The sides and apps were all very good, but the steak, rightfully so, was the star of the show...I loved the cowboy ribeye, possibly the best steak I've ever eaten.
Be the first to ReplyA Valentine's dinner date done right at the Porter House!
A Valentine's dinner date done right at the Porter House! The food, service, decor and ambiance were all fantastic! My boyfriend and I had made a reservation for an early Valentine's weekend dinner at the steakhouse located on the 4th floor of the Columbus Circle Mall. Upon arrival, the gentlemen in suits checked us for our vaccinations and IDs, and then we checked in at the front desk for our reservation. We were seated immediately and the entire check-in process was well under a min! When we sat down, we were greeted by our waitress who introduced us to the house menu and a elegant white-clothed table with roses for Valentine's Day. The menu includes a variety of options from starters, salads, steak, pasta to a bunch of vegetable sides and potatoes. Moreover, the drinks menu was very elaborate was over 15 pages of selections. We ordered the filet mignon and chili ribeye with brussel sprouts and mashed sweet potatoes. For drinks, we ordered a prohibition strawberry spritzer and Cabernet red wine. Before our dinner arrived, we were given cranberry bread which was delish topped with butter! After about 25 mins, our food which was plated so simple yet classy, arrived. Both steaks and sides were very well-seasoned and flavorful. The steaks were very tender and juicy. To top off dinner, we got the Valentine's Day dessert special - raspberry white chocolate mousse and it was definitely a very memorable dessert. Our dinner totaled $300. The overall service and ambiance of the restaurant was top quality and wonderful too!Overall, I highly recommend checking out the porterhouse for any special event celebration :)
Be the first to ReplyHonestly dismal experience.
It was freezing cold inside, asked for them to make the temperature warmer and I watched as the temperature slowly ticked down inside from 69.5 to 68.5 with cold air beating down on us and our food (thermostat located next to us lol). The table next to me left early and I could hear them complaining about how cold it was to each other too. It's really not fun when it's a steakhouse because all the food gets cold.- FOOD WISE-*The complimentary bread was cold and probably the worst out of every steakhouse in NYC worth going to. The cinnamon raisin nut bread was questionable (my partner joked that it tasted like a bad stale bagel) and the sourdough just missed the mark. *The server recommended bone marrow as the appetizer which was absolutely excellent, and I highly recommend it. It came out and warmed us up, and the bread that was provided was toasted and warm. I would avoid eating the complimentary bread if you go for this app. *Porterhouse for 2 was OK. It wasn't the best but had excellent char for a decent enough mouthfeel with every bite. Cooked medium rare, temperature was slightly off a couple degrees leaning to more of a rarer grill than a perfect med-rare. *Sides were black truffle mashed potatoes and the creamed spinach. The creamed spinach was probably the worst I have ever eaten in my entire life in NYC and I have made it a point to visit every steakhouse thus far. It was a soupy watery mess. The black truffle mashed potatoes were excellent, but St**p Hou** does it even better. If you know your steakhouses then you know what institution I'm talking about LOL. *Sauces - were excellent but the cool temperature made them congeal into a thick mess. *Dessert - Coffee for two and the chocolate fudge bar with vanilla gelato. The dessert was good to share for two people and enjoyable. *Service- It started off really well, and our server was really nice. But he never asked if we wanted refills on our coffee (and we did) before throwing us the bill. I think they are really understaffed and it shows. For a $300 meal, we felt really rushed out at the end (and by then we had only been eating for 1 hr 20 min). It was a subpar experience for a restaurant located in such a good location among heavy-hitters in the vast culinary scene. This place was recommended on the Michelin Guide and TimeOut among many other publications but if you're looking for steak, go elsewhere because this place is not it. The booth seating in the bar looked much more intimate and was warmer, so for dates I recommend coming here for just the bone marrow appetizer & drinks.
Be the first to ReplyPorterhouse GrillLocated on the 4th floor of 10 Columbus
Porterhouse GrillLocated on the 4th floor of 10 Columbus Circle (THE TRUE CENTER, OF THE CENTER, OF THE UNIVERSE) is a wonderful steakhouse. The warm and continually attentive hosts accommodatingly greet you, and you are escorted to the spectacular dining room, with fantastic NYC views as your back drop. The ambiance is so upscale, so beautiful, and more elegant than most NYC steakhouses. The service is very good and very attentive. The food is also very good. The crab cake and Caesar salad were tasty. The steak and salmon were incredibly good and cooked exactly as requested. The NY strip steak was so flavorful and done perfectly medium. The salmon (ordered well done, and prepared well done, without argument) was also very good. The onion rings were toasty, crispy, deliciousness on a plate, and the sautéed spinach was also prepared so well. The cocktail and wine lists are extensive. As satisfied as you are after your delicious meal (and you will be too, too full, you think, to order dessert) ORDER DESSERT. The coconut cake is worth every calorie, with its airy, yet moist, cake and scrumptious, but not too sweet, dense and creamy coconut frosting. Porterhouse is a restaurant that is perfect for an important business meeting or special occasion as it provides an upscale, truly enjoyable experience. The very good food, beautifully NYC centric atmosphere, and attentive service are delightful. You will eat like a Queen (and a Queen's bank account is required, or, at least, a very generous expense account) at this top, TOP notch, NYC steakhouse.

Went here last night with my boss and couple of engineering folks. This was mainly a thank you dinner for the engineering guys. What's interesting about this place is that it never shows up on a Google search of best steakhouses nyc. However it was a strong recommendation from someone who knows the owner or the chef.Appetizers Bone marrow - yummy. I completely devoured the bread as well that was dipped in the gravyCrab cake - I don't eat fish, but my colleagues were raving about itTartare- Meeh, I found it very bland and underwhelming Think bacon - I'd say this is comparable to the one at Peter Luger. Loved itDrinksI had 3 different cocktails (mezcal based negroni, penicillin and jalapeños infused margarita), and it definitely did not rock my world. I've had much better at a Keane's or Gallaghers and I think Porterhouse can get a bit more creative and bold here.Main courseI split the porterhouse and the chilli rib steak. Honestly, I've never quite had anything like the chilli ribeye. The seasoning was very creative, easy on the palette but yet not overpowering to take away the natural flavor of a juicy steak. I took a couple of pieces home for my wife and she gobbled it up... probably the best ribeye with a twist I've ever had.Overall, I liked the place. I could not give it a 5 b/c of the underwhelming cocktails and the bland tartare
Be the first to ReplyAmazing service and amazing food.
The cocktails, the risotto, the burrata, the meat, the sundae : it was all delicious! I was also quite surprised by the check, yes it was an expensive dinner but for everything we ordered I expected to pay much higher in Manhattan so definitely worth the money. One little point of improvement: When I go to a fancy steak dinner, I expect to see a minimum of a dresscode that protects the ambiance. This place is on top of a mall which was already a bit disappointing and I obviously do not expect people to wear suits but seeing people in sweatshirts is a little much in my opinion. Maybe enforce a business casual dress code?
Be the first to ReplyI was very impressed by our meal here.
We came with friends on a Saturday night. The place was packed but our waiters were fantastic. They made sure we always had what we needed and never made us feel rushed. This always adds to the experience for us. We ordered a ton of apps and sides to split for the table. The bone marrow appetizer was super rich and one of the best bites of the entire night. The Hamachi crudo also stands out, as it was really light and refreshing. All of the sides (french fries, onion rings, spinach, and mushrooms) were tasty and nice portions for splitting amongst the 4 of us. Our porterhouse for 2 was super tender and perfectly cooked (rare). Desserts were good, but everything else stood out more. Would definitely come back.
Be the first to ReplyAmazing meal.
Came with a party of 9. Everything was perfect about the night. Great setting, energy, ambience. Fantastic service and delicious food. We had the seafood towers which were delicious and fun for a group, in addition to the bone marrow, porterhouse steak, the truffled potatoes and slab bacon, all insanely good. Will definitely be back soon.

We've been fortunate to have two fantastic meals here this year with family and close friends. The staff is friendly, polite and professional. The cocktails and wines are fantastic. The steaks and food are incredible. Perhaps the best wagyu strip I've ever had. Mouthwateringly delicious. We'll be back
