Ponchiken Chiyoda City Reviews from The Last Year
The special loin was delicious.
For lunch, I had the special loin pork cutlet set meal for 2,500 yen. When I arrived around 11:35 on a weekday, there were already about seven people in line, and I had to wait outside for 25 minutes before I could get a seat. The top loin pork cutlet is 1,600 yen and is from Mexico, while the special loin, which is 900 yen more expensive, is from Okinawa, and apparently both weigh about 180 grams, so there's not much difference. The special loin had a crispy batter and the loin was juicy with just the right amount of fat. It was delicious and went down very well with rice. Thank you, Ponchiken, and to all the dairy farmers in Okinawa.
Racially insensitive staff
We were turned away by the staff because they “do not speak English” and the “menu is not in English.” Do not come here, they are racially insensitive and xenophobic. Even though I said we would all order the same thing, I said “Okinawa buta [pork]” and raised my hand to indicate 4 orders. Still, the man at the counter just repeated “only Japanese, no English, cannot serve you.”

Prepaid Reservation Fee

When you sell a reservation that has a prepaid fee AT takes a commission on that fee. This doesn’t really make sense because it’s an expense the seller incurs not part of the profit that is shared.
For example:
Carbone NYC fee to book table for 2 is $108.88
If you sell it for $200 on AT you get $140 from them.
Your net profit is $31 and AT collects $60 in fees.
It would make more sense not to charge commission on the upfront fee as this creates a disincentive and results in higher costs for buyers.

Agreed. Ultimately not addressing this month after month is clearly resulting in a drop in certain venue’s rankings & sales.
