Delightful and artful cuisine
We had an amazing experience at PLU. The food was exceptional and entertaining. We are French… I know, and we are so blasé sometimes but we truly enjoyed our dinner. The service was impeccable. We’d love to come back.

This was my third meal at PLU and it was every bit as enjoyable as the previous two occasions. I find Elliot’s cooking to be fantastic and the presentation superb. I have eaten in some of the worlds best restaurants and I can’t believe this gem is on my doorstep. I have a few more bookings at PLU arranged, some with friends who have already been there and some introducing others who haven’t been before. If you like top class, beautifully presented food in a tasting menu format do try PLU, you won’t be disappointed.
Be the first to ReplyExcellent occasion restaurant.
This is inventive cookery of an exceptionally high standard. The setting is modern and colourful and the food is exceptional. Twelve items appeared at just the right timed intervals each a picture on a plate. Normally I find these sort of menus an irritation but here the ingredients were very well balanced and beautifully presented. Background music was exactly that allowing us to talk and hear each other. We both felt we had an excellent dinner and left feeling we had dined well. It was a real night to remember.

Phenomenal, inspirational food. My friends and I agreed that it was among the best Michelin star did we have ever had. Delicious, creative. A very special experience that we will all remember and repeat. Can’t recommend highly enough.

We loved the whole dining experience. The food was delicious. Great attention to detail. Love the creativity, humour and story behind each dish. Chef and his wife, Helen, who is front of house were both welcoming and lovely,
Be the first to ReplyPretentious con
Ambience is, well, like a front room in a house. Service was impeccable But….the food was, in my opinion, pretentious and more pretentious. The service was very good. The food not so, imo. Loads of small dishes that made me wait for the meal that never arrived. I would accept that as an educational experience but for the eye watering price which I had to accept as I was entertaining. Came out more hungry than I went in. If only I had opted for the Indian across the road (no I have no connection with them) Never, ever, again.

We had a wonderful dinner at PLU on our recent trip to London. We used to live in St. John's Wood and wish PLU had been in the neighborhood when we were there! The restaurant is very warm and intimate. The service was incredibly personalized and friendly. Helen, who runs the front of the house, made sure everyone in our party had a wonderful experience. We brought our tween children as a special occasion, and she made them feel special. The food was outstanding--on-par with Michelin-starred restaurants. The 15 courses were creative and delicious. We particularly liked the “Steak Tartare et Frites”, the “Peach Melba” foie gras, and “The White Helmet” dessert. Incredibly, the entire meal is prepared by Chef Elliot, and the attention to detail shows. In short, if you’d like Michelin star quality food in a warm and relaxed atmosphere, head to PLU. We will be back next time we’re in London.

What a fun experience dining at PLU was. For a somewhat picky eater I had the best menu exceptional of my life. All the food tasted amazing but was also fun, relaxed and exciting to eat. Proper 5 out of 5 meal, I would recommend to everyone.

It is a bit hard to review Plu in many ways. First because it was unusual, in size and in style, so hard to compare and value for money is very subjective. Second because I wouldn't want to spoil the surprises. What can I say? Well, the room is well spaced out and comfortable, service was friendly and super-professional. The wine list was good value for a restaurant of this style. All good so far but I found the food remarkable with a lot of creativity but never at the expense of flavour. Three of the dishes in particular stuck in my mind as visually stunning and also great-tasting. Very pleased I went and I am now trying to take friends there to see their reaction.
Be the first to ReplyFabulous, beautiful food
Plu is a small and intimate tasting menu only restaurant. The staff are wonderfully friendly and the food is definitely Michelin starred quality. What is all the more remarkable is that there is only ONE chef. The food is clever, innovative and wonderfully tasty. Elliot Moss is a very gifted chef indeed - I must go back there again soon!

Have just left a wonderful evening at PLU. The staff were exemplary, so attentive and kind. We have never had food like like this! So creative and delicious and different. We have been to many fine dining restaurants in London, but this is different. The obvious care and creation that went into this food is a different level. Absolutely loved it, thank you

For a special occasion or simply if you can afford it. GO! It is a refined dining experience you are unlikely to forget. 10/10
Be the first to ReplyUncompromised creative art
We had our anniversary dinner at Plu. We've been to many fine dining places but never seen this level of uncompromised creativity anywhere. What is striking is that the Chef owns/runs the whole restaurant by himself. Even the wall decor & artwork is his work. The experience was amazing with very bold choices and a nice amount of humour as well - we have never thought that we will be licking a gaspacho painted as Marilyn Monroe from a tile. :D I also recommend the insane amount of whiskey selection they have, pretty unusual items on the list, all amazing. Thank you for hosting us, it was an amazing experience and we will return. :)
Be the first to ReplyAbsolutely Blown Away
An evening at PLU is well worth every penny. Not just a tasting menu, more of an experience, an interactive journey, the chef speaks to you and interacts with you without even being near you. An absolute festival of flavours, presented in ways which can only be described as mind blowing imaginative and artistic masterpieces. I doubt I will find another that will ever top this, and feel very lucky to have found such an amazing place for a simply impeccable evening. The staff are welcoming, warm and an absolute asset to the chef, explaining the drinks and dishes in detail, conveying the thoughts of the chef which lay behind what is placed before you. A truly unforgettable evening, and unforgettable dishes. The best Michelin establishment I’ve been to by far. Everything from start to finish really is above and beyond, and the attention to detail toward the guests creates an intimate and very personal experience, focused around you, that far exceeds anywhere else you will ever visit. I cannot recommend PLU enough.
Be the first to ReplyI can not get enough of PLU!
I have just been back to PLU for my third visit and once again I am left wishing I could return instantly!
My first visit was for an abridged menu, as part of a 'supper club' experience and I instantly booked to return, with my wife, for the full tasting menu. That was last Autumn and I have just gone back again, this time we took our best foodie friends and yet again we were blown away.
The food is out of this world. We have been too many multi Michelin starred restaurants and this surpasses most of them, and is level with the others. I can not think of a restaurant in the UK that beats PLU.
I love that when you arrive you do not know if there is anyone else inside, thanks to the discreet one way glass, and you know that no one can be looking in on you either.
The decor, whilst opulent feels warm & welcoming. What a joy to be in a dining room with colour and design surrounding you.
Then the journey (and the meal really is a journey) begins, with dish after glorious dish being served to you by friendly staff. I don't think they ever use the same plate twice, one minute a bespoke wooden 'charcuterie board' and then the next a repurposed wine bottle boasts 'breadsticks'. Everything is so well presented, but never at the expense of the taste of the food (a mistake often suffered in high end restaurants).
The time round my top three dishes of the night were... Iberico Pork (best pork I have ever eaten), Peach melba (best dish I have ever eaten - not sure how the chef makes the foie gars just so, but it is truly mind blowing. I didn't even think I liked foie gras) & The White Helmet (a delicious and delicate dessert, with flavour combinations that are so perfect I don't know why they are not seen together more often). I am trying not to give too much away as a lot of the fun comes from the surprises!
The wine list is unusually large for such a tiny restaurant, and has a great variety. This time round we started with pre-dinner cocktails and I can highly recommend 'The Merlin', a rhubarb martini!
The extra good bit ... I can walk home after. What a joy to live in St John's Wood & to have this gem as a neighbour.
If you love great food then PLU is an absolute must for you. Let the staff take care of your every whim, and let your senses be opened to flavours and delights that you didn't even know you craved.
Absolutely Superb!
Plu is the creation and passion of chef Elliot Moss a charming man whose claim to fame is that he is the son of the late great racing driver Stirling Moss.
Motor racing was not the chosen career path for Elliot and he trained under the watchful eye of the late Albert Roux at The Gavroche for several years and Plu is the climax of all he learnt. To date though it seems "under the radar" and the only reviews I have seen were in the Motoring Press.
Tucked away in Blenheim Terrace it knocks spots off anything else in the locality and the no choice 14 course tasting menu is on the par with several two and three star Michelin restaurants we have eaten at in the last few months (Michelin take note!). It is possible to make minor adjustments provided they are notified in advance and the evenings meat dish of Wagyu Beef was for our benefit.
Decor is sumptuous, mainly green with the most magnificent Murano glass chandelier occupying centre stage and with only a limited number of tables covers are restricted and the restaurant is only open for dinner a few days each week.
Everything is prepared by Elliot himself which is no mean feat and the quality, flavours and imagination are all top class. It is hard to imagine the amount of work that goes into preparing and presenting dishes that look and taste as good as this, we enjoyed everything that was served and it would be hard to pick favourites and the menu is too comprehensive to list here. You need to go to appreciate it all!
Although mainly modern European there are certainly some Japanese influences and some of the ideas were reminiscent of the great Asian Chef (formerly in Bangkok and now moved to Tokyo) Gaggan.
I would though specifically mention "The White Helmet", poignantly presented on a specially made plate in Rob Walker racing blue with the prominent "Number 7" (Stirling's racing number) which was followed by "Abbey Road" a chocolate dish of amazing complexity - one of the best we have seen.
It is currently a husband and wife team and Helen looks after service and wine. The wine list itself by London standards is exceptional value with some really lovely offerings that will not break the bank. The menu itself currently at £140 represents great value for this quality.
May they go from strength to strength, we will certainly return.
The best exquisite restaurant
Plu is an amazing experience. Decor beautiful, the food was delicious, very different and so so cleverly presented. Staff the best in the world. The clever chef Elliot is truly magnificent and certainly deserves his Michelin award. Such a very private and personal restaurant. Unique and magical evening eating unique food. Loved it all. Not to be missed if you are lucky enough to get a reservation.

Its not just a dining experience, it’s the whole adventure.
We were lucky to visit Plu Restaurant during warm August evening.
From the first step into the Plu restaurant we admired luxurious and sophisticated design of the interior: blue velvet walls, blown glass chandelier, dimmed lights. At the same time this cosy space gave us such a warm and comfortable feeling.
Always smiling and truly friendly Helen, welcomed us and introduced to history and concept of the restaurant.
We had 15 courses tasting menu with wines paired to each course. My partner is wine lover, and he was amazed by the selection. And then food, what a journey it was!
Curious and mysterious names in the menu were reviling some beautifully presented exceptional flavours! We were surprise every time by incredible taste, texture, combinations and freshness of ingredients. We loved especially the indulgent “Vietnamese hot tea” (it’s not the tea you expect 😉), Lobster mousse wrapped in courgette skin with a caviar sauce, assiette of yellowfin tuna, the Pimm’s “salad”. Surprisingly presented cheese with truffle and rich, delicious desserts were to die for. Each dish was a display of extraordinarily talented Chef with great culinary techniques, sharp tastebuds and such a creativity. Head Chef, Elliot Moss is a true artist! We had a pleasure to meet him after dinner, super friendly fellow.
The service was professional, and impeccable throughout the whole evening. We spend amazing time and felt truly spoiled. Thank you Plu team for this incredible experience.
This restaurant is perfect if you want to treat someone with a special touch and memorable evening. A truly Hidden Gem!!!
Top class
There are a handful of London restaurants where the food can be produced only by the most skilful chefs and Plu is one of them. Everything about it is tip top Hurry to sample its amazing offering now it's reopened.

We had to go back a second time. Exquisite food, wonderful jewel of a restaurant. An amazing sensory experience.
Be the first to ReplyA MUST for the Gourmand
PLU is a new restaurant in London, opened by Chef Elliot Moss. There is NOTHING ordinary about this latest edition of world class dining in London.
The restaurant, in St. John's Wood, is small and very elegant, tastefully decorated with a terrace fronting. PLU offers a single service Wednesday - Saturday and a Sunday Brunch.
We were treated to a 14 course sampler meal that was, without doubt, THE best I've ever enjoyed. Each plate was matched with a glass of wine, served impeccably and unique both in presentation and flavor. While so many courses might intimidate, each was just enough to provide the senses - smell, taste and most definitely visual - with a new experience, whetting the senses for yet another.
If you are a Foodie or want a special treat, do not miss this magical place! There is no doubt it will soon become a top destination for those who love a grand and unique meal.
Modern french fine dining.
Absolutely blew my mind. We enjoyed several courses of truly unique and inspired food. Each course was an adventure and nothing was as it appeared to be on the surface, a surprise with each dish. An rich and elegant setting complemented by friendly and accommodating staff.
