I celebrated my 30th birthday here and I was quite underwhelmed with this establishment. I also don’t think many of the 5 star reviews are genuine . PRO’s: beautiful private dining area, nice atmosphere and good wine (albeit starting at 50 pounds + a bottle). The staff were not overly warm but they were on the most part attentive, regularly topping up our drinks etc. Olga was nice to deal with when organising my night, correspondence was quick and easy. CON’s: - Extremely pricey for what you are paying for. we ordered cheese boards as some of us didn’t enjoy our mains and this consisted of minuscule bites of around 6 pieces of cheese priced around £20. we ordered several of these to accommodate the group size but what came out was shocking. - Food lacks flavour and very little attention was paid to our requests. I provided the groups menu choices two weeks in advance, requesting no truffle on two of the mains. When we were served truffle, we sent the dishes back and also complained that we had paid for and requested the pecorino wheel pasta which was an experience 5 of the guests had been looking forward to. The staff said the pecorino wheel could not be brought up the step to come inside the private dining room but when we made a fuss, they easily managed to bring it to the step and give two of us pasta cooked in the pecorino wheel. The others in my group did not get the pecorino wheel experience which I felt extremely bad about. The two pasta mains which were cooked in the wheel were again, served with truffle oil which myself and another reluctantly ate. I did mention a third time that I do not like truffle and the staff said this dish is always cooked with truffle as this is how they get the pecorino to melt, but why was this not communicated when I provided menu options 2 weeks in advance, or even at the point when we sent the dishes back and the chef proceeded to cook another batch again in front of us? Very disappointing and extremely careless in the event someone was allergic to truffle. If this was made clear when we sent the dishes back, I would have changed my choice. - I have eaten Italian food before, but again I need to express just how bad the food was and lacking in flavour. We also ordered fresh bread in advance but on the day the ovens were not working and we were given little bites of baguette style slices to make up for it. We paid around £100 pp for a group of ten. Never again.
