It was my cousin's 25th birthday and she wanted to go to dinner at Panda. We had reservations at 9:30pm. The restaurant was packed. The vibes were cool. It was dim lit inside and the DJ was playing good music. There were 9 of us and we had a long table by the bar in the back of the restaurant. Since there were so many of us, we had a prefix menu. Everyone liked the food. I loved the chicken wontons and filet mignon and broccoli. For dessert, it was an assortment of cakes. The chocolate cake was delicious. The server came over with a huge sign for my cousin's birthday. We all had a lot of fun!
Be the first to ReplyPanda Harlem definitely wasn't what social media made it
Panda Harlem definitely wasn't what social media made it seem. We had a reservation for 8 however, when we arrived we had to wait to be seated, which is fine and usually happens at restaurants. However, we waited for a while and once we were seated. They seated the 6 of us at 2 tables pushed together, which realistically would only seat 4 people. We requested to be moved and was eventually moved to the booth by the front door, and, It was cold right there but we stayed. We went for Restaurant Week. They had the 3 courses. The Bejing Chicken was good, as well as the chicken fried rice. Only issue with that is that we had to order rice as an additional appetizer, since their entree didnt come with rice. I really liked the Tres Leches cake as well. The leches martini was good and really strong. I initially ordered a pina colada, which was nasty. The waiter excused it, since he was the one who suggested it. The service at Panda Harlem was not good. But our waiter was nice. He was pleasant but seemed too all over the place. He also took forever to take our orders but the food came out fast. The ambience of the restaurant was not the best. It strikes me more as a club atmosphere rather than restaurant, I guess because it was in what looks like a warehouse that they threw tables in, graffiti paintings on the walls. I don't know. Another thing is that the bathrooms were disgusting. I'll be ok with not revisiting.

Family style Asian fusion. I tried the kung Pao and sweet and sour chicken. They were both tasty. We shared appetizers like chicken and shrimp dumplings and chicken satay, which were pretty good, the peanut sauce on the satay was really sweet. My boys enjoyed their drinks. The service was really prompt and friendly at both the bar and when we were seated. The hosts were really nice as well. I'll be back, I like the overall vibe, it's just that the food isn't anything special, but it does the job.
Be the first to ReplyOmg Panda Harlem is everything expected!! Food is delicious
Omg Panda Harlem is everything expected!! Food is delicious drinks are amazing but what I love the most is the customer service!! First to begin, I never been to a restaurant and the waitress is right there to clean up instantly. Second, I love the attentive the servers have to guest. They not hovering over you but also not to far away to assist you. Lastly s/o to Hasim!! He was amazing, attentive, available, didn't have to look for him. And he was a great people person with a sense of humor. Thank you so much Hasim for making my first time at Panda a great experience.

I was really excited to try this new establishment from the outside it doesn't look like much but once you enter it's beautiful inside. The decor and ambiance was really cute and hip. Valet was $40 alil overpriced if you ask me especially when they block off the whole block so they could park the car for you . They only had a pre fixed menu for nye. It wasn't busy at all but the service took very long. My date ordered the Beijing chicken which was really salty and the chicken seemed overcooked. The fried rice taste similar to your local Chinese restaurant and all clumpy. My food took even longer to come out cause they forgot , I had the filet mignon and broccoli which was surprisingly really good, tender and flavorful fresh broccoli. The chicken satay was tasteless, no flavor at all, bland. The chicken wontons were good. The drinks were really good made well I highly recommend the dragon fruit mojito. Music was tasteful. They also sell hookah if you're interested. But overall it's not high end food. If you're looking for good drinks and music and a nice place to take pictures this is your spot but for the food and price not so much.

Located in the space previously known as Solomon and Kuff (which I absolutely adored). So the space itself is cute, exposed brick, graffiti walls, with a flair of fancy dining. My favorite part of this restaurant is the vibe (their music selection is great/ trendy, but also timeless songs). The music is a bit loud, not gonna lie, but I personally didn't mind it. The dining area towards the bar is dim. Great for a group outing. Now for the food, I wasn't the biggest fan. We ordered a ton of appetizers and they were ok, not bad, but I've definitely had better. The Bao Buns we're the most memorable out of all the appetizers we ordered. My least favorite was the chicken satay because of the thick peanut sauce drizzled on top. I would say this is place good for having fun with a group of friends, getting a few drinks, taking a few pictures and listening to some good music.

Visited Panda Harlem on a Tuesday around 9 pm with a friend for casual hang out. There were about 2 other parties there at the time, the place didn't get a little more crowded until 10pm. Very spacious. For appetizers we had the rock shrimp and pork dumplings. The rock shrimp was great. The pork in the dumplings didn't taste good. For entrees I had the salmon and vegetable fried rice. The salmon was over cooked, the rice was okay. They do have hookah also, $50 cash. Wait staff was very attentive. Almost too attentive actually they were so quick to clear the table they took my rock shrimp before I was done after multiple times of saying I was still working on it. I have a friend who went on a different occasion and she had the same experience. The lychee martini was good. Overall, it's a good one stop shop for food, hookah and vibes. I'd like to try them again for brunch.

I went there on March 1 at 5 pm and the young lady at the door sat me at my table, so I ordered my food and drinks and the drink was delicious and the food was ok so while I'm eating security than comes to my table very discreetly and whispered in my ear and women are not supposed to wear hats in their I'm someone that I have a health condition that causes me to loss my hair so I'm self conscious about it and was so shocked that he was telling me that he then said the only reason why he was telling me is because the lady that came in that was sitting across from us. He made her take her head off, and I told him I'm not taking my head off at all due to my health condition I refused to, but he was very respectful about it, but they need to be made aware of that you could be sued people have health conditions and that's why they wear hats some people not all people happen to be someone that we are hats because of my condition so on that note, I would say from women if you want to wear a hat, don't go there
Be the first to Replyanother one bites the dust.
i've come here several times, its been a cute vibe, music is always great and the food/drinks are good. however, last night i came by for dinner for the first time in a few months and it just was not the same. lets get into it-1. they asked my husband to check his skully due to their 'no hats' policy / dress code. (also, it was 30degrees out) after he took the hat off and said we'd just hold it, the security added 'if you put it back on, we will have to escort you out'. umm, ok? relax. im not going to get into what having a 'dresscode' implies (tell me you r@cist w out TELLING ME you r@cist). but you are in HARLEM and you got a 'no hats, no baggy bla bla bla' sign but are "inspired hip-hop culture" (per website)? make it make sense. you want the hood 'aesthetic' but don't want 'the hood' in your establishment? please. 2. hostess says we cant be seated cause our entire party is not present and the '90 minute table limit' starts as soon as you sit down. so we go to the bar area, and there were no seats so we asked if we could just sit at the table. hostess repeats that she could not seat us. however, per your website and QR code: the 90 min limit was for weekends (this was a wednesday at 6PM). ok, we wait and grab a drink at the bar. mind you, the spot was EMPTY. no table had people and no one was waiting, LMAO but ok, we cant sit down. 3. gratuity (20%) is included on ALL checks (yes, even on the two drink check at the bar). annoying and thirsty but ok. also, a 3.99% 'service fee' is applied to every credit card transaction. so if you split your bill on multiple cards, thats 3.99% every swipe. its giving SCAM LIKELY or you want to 'encourage' people to pay cash. why? we know why. ;)(not going to get into how RIDICULOUSLY over priced it is cause this is NYC and sh!t is gonna be overpriced). but sadly, would not return. i hate when a new spot in the neighborhood is a vibe until its not.

I had a birthday reservation here the event marketer Ivi Shano double charged my card . Than blocked me from contacting him regarding my bill . I had reached out multiple times via email and try to contact him by phone . And received no answer . I called plenty times and received the same story "that he will be contacting me shorty " . Once off the call I was blocked from that number from contacting the restaurant. The manager there Andres Mondragon had no idea or information about my event . After a week of being told the same story I pulled up to the restaurant to only be told by the girl in the front that I will not be allowed in the restaurant and the manager was too busy to speak to me . I refused to leave until I spoke to him . When I finally spoken to him . He assured me he would get back to me about the error. It took the restaurant 3 weeks to than reach back out to me and refund me back my money ..
Be the first to ReplyI made a reservation for Panda for Valentine's Day.
I was beyond excited to eat there, but upon arrival my partner and I were handed a "prefixed menu" which was never stated prior to booking. When I inquired with the waiter could we order from the regular menu we were told "No". Due to the it being Valentine's Day we couldn't leave to eat anywhere else. They set the prefixed menu at $85 PP which included appetizer, entree, a shared side of rice, & a shared desert. After cross referencing the regular menu prices with the prefixed menu prices they were charging us significantly MORE money for LESS food. When we calculated the items from the pre fix menu vs the regular menu we were being up-charged $60 more and still had to SHARE items on the prefix menu that we would've never shared before (ie: Rice). We were charged $170 for what should've been a $110 meal. What should've been $150 meal with drinks included ended up being $216. Then on top of that there was a service fee to use our card instead of cash, automatic 20% gratuity & a bunch of other taxes & fees which brought the bill to damn near $290. Im not taking away from the quality of the food or service, but we felt like we were SCAMMED & forced into a menu that we never notified about on Valentines Day. I'm someone with food allergies & didn't appreciate not knowing about this "prefixed" menu in advance. Due to this situation I'll never eat at Panda Harlem again. I don't like feeling like I'm being taken advantage of by a restaurant. They also had a flyer on their Instagram that NEVER stated there was a prefixed menu for dinner.

I cant give this place 5 stars because I think they should offer parking. The food was good my waiter was great his name was Ralph it was great service great food drinks and music I would definitely go back.....
Be the first to ReplySo this is my second time coming to Panda.
Sadly, it will have to be my last. We came here for Valentine's Day. The first thing I noticed was that instead of their normal menu, something my wife was really excited to sample, they had a fixed price menu. Most restaurants, when they were going to do this for a special event would put the menu on their website. They failed to do that. So, when my wife arrived, excited to try all these different selections, she was very disappointed to find that nothing was available on the fixed price menu. We chose the chicken satay and the wontons for the starter. I had previously ordered the chicken on a separate occasion. They clearly have changed the recipe. The chicken tasted like it was doused in butter. I assume that is because they used a great deal of coconut milk in the recipe. But without anything to cut that heavy fat content, it just tasted like slivers of chicken swimming in lard. The wontons were marginally better.Next, we have the entrées. I ordered the filet mignon with broccoli, and my wife ordered the Beijing chicken. The last time I ate here, the filet mignon with broccoli was a highlight. Here, it was just so salty and lacked any attempt to elevate Cantonese cuisine. The biggest problem was that we were served appetizers almost immediately. We then waited an hour and 15 minutes for entrées to come. After about an hour, our waitress came by to ask if we had received our entrées yet. I told her we had not. My wife, by this point, felt unwell from the appetizers and had retreated to the bathroom. About five minutes after the entrées arrived, a disgruntled waiter appeared with our dessert selection only to realize we had just been served our food. After he gave us a look as if to say, "can I just leave this here" and my responsive look that said "oh please don't leave our dessert on our chicken," he finally went back to the kitchen. The portions were not large enough. Why they thought it was OK to have two people share a bowl of rice and ONE SLICE OF CHOCOLATE MOUSSE, I will never know. What ever would they do if someone showed up alone on Valentine's Day, I wonder? As we were finishing the entrée, the waiter kept coming by to clear plates. Literally, things were being snatched away from us before we could finish eating. This was especially frustrating because we had waited for over an hour for the food to arrive and now we felt like we were being rushed out the door. By time the chocolate mousse reappeared at the table, my wife and I were ready to hit the road. It certainly was not worth an $89 fixed price menu per person. In the end, after tip, our meal was almost $400 for two people. We left hungry and my wife had horrible stomach problems due to the appetizers, and we waited for an hour and fifteen minutes between the appetizer and the entrée.This felt like a cash grab that is unsupported by their quality of food or service.
Be the first to ReplyCame here for brunch on Sunday.
On social media, i.e. Tik Tok and Instagram, it looks jumping for the weekend brunches and dinner. They open at 12 on Sunday and the place was empty when we arrived at about 1:30pm. While I waited for the rest of my party to arrive, I sat at the bar and had a lychee martini. The bartender was sooo nice but the lychee martini was soooo sweet. I usually get a lychee martini when I go out but this was the first time it wasn't as enjoyable.Once everyone arrived, we sat at our table. Our waiter checked in with us and gave us ample time to figure out what we wanted to eat and drink. We did do the bottomless drinks which includes either mimosas, frozen henny coladas, or frose. I stuck with the mimosas the entire time but my friends said that the frozen drinks were good and you can actually taste the alcohol. They do have a pre fixe menu which is mandatory for parties of four or more. Since we were a party of four we had the option to go a la carte. The brunch menu is pretty much the dinner menu and this is the one thing I think they should work on. There should be entrees that differentiate between brunch and dinner. The menu didn't have anything that seemed super amazing, but the food was good. I wouldn't say that it was anything out of the ordinary. At about 2:30 the place finally started to get a bit full but it still wasn't a lot of people there. They were also playing old school r&b (sad music included) which wasn't the best selection. Overall, I'd definitely go back if things got a bit more livelier and the menu was updated.
Be the first to ReplyWent for a friends birthday.
The music was hip hop and r&b. The lychee martini was really good. The food was ok nothing I haven't gotten at another Asian restaurant. There were only 3-4 vegan options. The spring rolls were regular and the veggie pad fried noodles were ok. Overall for the price of a pre-fix menu for a vegan it's not worth it. Drinks, yes. The ambiance of the place was really nice. The bathroom look was alittle too rustic for me and questionable.
