UNFORGETTABLE MAGICAL DINING EXPERIENCE
Ormer Mayfair absolutely deserves its Michelin Star and more …. Truly. The dining experience, preparation and presentation of its exquisitely divine food is heavenly. Created by a talented team of professionals. The service is warm, friendly and incredibly well informed. From the start to the end, my birthday dinner was magical and faultless. Their cheese trolley is one of the best in London, with around 20 different cheeses to decide upon. Very, very rarely do I ever go overboard on writing such a glowing review. But very, very rarely do you get anything close to such a perfect dining experience as that of Ormer Mayfair. I’m giving Ormer Mayfair’s competitors a big nudge here ! A very big thanks to the whole team for a wonderful evening .
Be the first to ReplyExcellent restaurant, food and service - plus value for money
The best * Michelin restaurant we have been to this year (compared to Portland, Trinity, Pied a Terre which were all nice but not quite as delicious)! The food deserves ** and the service was attentive, friendly and unobtrusive. Can highly recommend! Also good value for money: five 7-course tasting menus, a bottle of Pouilly Fussee, two glasses of red, a cocktail, two teas came to £841 (incl. 12.5% service charge).

We had booked well in advance, but on this Thursday evening there were several vacant tables. Very fine welcome in the restaurant, nice people to serve you - but some of them so low and quickly speaking so it can be difficult for non-native English speaking guests to get hold of everything. Food very fine - but the first courses in their tasting menu are very small - and later on the potions are perhaps too large (the desert for example) - I think this should be changed somewhat. We had a very fine rosé from Kent - an interesting experience.
Be the first to ReplyFantastic experince and meal
My wife had Ormer on her list of restaurants to visit and we're glad she did. We had a great experience last night. We decided to go with the 7-course tasting menu and it didn't disappoint, the food was fantastic as was the service. We spoke to the sommelier about the wine flight, but as neither of us likes sweet wine, he suggested we go with a bottle and then a separate glass with the lamb, which worked out perfectly. I didn't get his name, but he was extremely helpful and informative. All-in-all it was a really enjoyable evening.
Be the first to ReplySimply amazing - well worth its Michelin star and one of the best restaurants in London!
Amazing food, fantastic wines and superb service from a dedicated team which comes together to make for a memorable evening. Having recently earned their first Michelin star, the team at Ormer are going from strength to strength. The restaurant is in a great location in the middle of Mayfair but tucked away on a quiet street which means you get the best of both worlds. Reasonably priced for such a high quality restaurant and very highly recommend.
Be the first to ReplyExceptional Meal
I've not been back to Ormer since Shaun Rankin was Chef, but now there's Sofian Msetfi as Executive Chef. Have to say though, I liked my meal very much last time I came, this time I loved it. The welcome is friendly and the attention paid by all is very high, particularly from the Sommelier who chose some great accompanying glasses of wine rather than a full on wine flight. The menu is tasting (5 or 7 courses) only and consists of: Waldorf, Warm ibérico ham jelly, Cured Cornish mackerel, Milk-fed Pyrenees lamb and Tuma yellow mille-feuille. All courses were excellent, I particularly loved the Lamb which came with a foam covered, pulled lamb side and gorgeous jus. The flavours were singing across each plate, with a stunning dessert to finish. Along with some delicious canapés, bread, petit four and cheese trolley, the meal was exceptional. Presentation was beautiful, with fine attention to detail throughout and great service. Couldn't fault the meal at all. For this five course degustation (£79), Optional cheeses, Champagne, wine and coffee, the total bill was a smidge over £200. For a Michelin starred restaurant in Mayfair, this is bloody good value frankly and a definite must for all foodies. I'll be back soon.
Be the first to ReplySo special, excellent price, and such passion.
I'd never heard of this spot till the Michelin star and the rave reviews, and I feel like I've now found a London secret. Ormer is in the basement of Fleming's Hotel, and such a treasure. We went on a weeknight, and there were couples and quite a few diners eating alone, which is great to see...because why should you have to wait for a friend to join for a fabulous meal? I want to do that too. Life's too short. Anyway, for 79 quid for five courses, the selects were incredible. The service was warm...like a family, full of passion. Definitely add on the wine pairing - the somm is very knowledgeable and plucks some great bottles for you to try. I like that he really listened to our needs and preferences. They paired perfectly. I also liked the bar area too. Overall such a gorgeous experience and at a fair price. What a night, thank you team for making us feel so special.

Ormer is a real hidden gem, and a great place for dinner is a really good, plush setting with really fantastic , professional staff. There is no loud music like you get in some restaurants where it's impossible to hear the person sitting next to you. Its dimly lit and tastefully fitted out and would appeal to sensible diners with manners, but sadly we did see some unmannered diners just taking photo after photo after photo of their food. The lights from their cameras were distracting but that's not the fault of Ormer, but a reflection of the poor manners of the diners. The restaurant has spaciously laid out tables, not close to one another like in some restaurants, and there are some areas in a booth style settings. I would describe it as sumptuous. The food (including 3 sets of canapes and petit fours) could not be faulted and the staff took time to explain the dishes in our tasting menu, which was in some instances, educational. Notable dishes, the Turbot from the 7 course menu, the crumble which is finished off with liquid nitrogen (be careful as its super cold!). Ormer is a real gem, truly magnificent.
Be the first to Replyone of the best in london
There are several prerequisites for an enjoyable meal out in London or indeed anywhere ese , the greeting , the room setting , the food -Ormer scores a 10 in each category . The greeting here is exceptional , other restaurants take note , you are welcomed ,the food is exceptional , the room is almost perfectly lit , the service is outstanding . So a great evening preceded by a drink in their bar manettas which is a lovely place to have a pre dinner drink , not too big , almost cosy , very smart . A paean of praise for ormer restaurant and its bar-well deserved

You will feel welcome from the moment you step into the building. The staff are genuinely exceptional! It was my first time at Ormer, last night, but certainly not the last. The service was a perfect choreography. The 7-course pescatarian menu, a delightful way of discovering the Chef's talent. Every dish was a savoury combination of textures, and explosion of flavours. Bravo!

Cutting edge service, superb tasting menu, insane wine pairing. World class service. Amazing drinks. A well oiled machinery. The kitchen is exquisite. Italian ambiance, Italian quality. If you want beers and burgers this might not be the place for you. Location is splendid, central and my the tube. 5 star all the way.

A wonderful 6 course tasting menu - flavour, texture, presentation, attention to detail, all served by a delightful staff with an understated theatrical flair. A truly memorable evening.

Outstanding epicurean experience at Omer. We enjoyed the 8 course tasting menu which is to exhaustive to write about. Sensational wine list and a wonderful, cosmopolitan staff. Bravo!
Be the first to ReplyGood food, poor service, no atmosphere
Food was very good but service was disappointing and maybe even a rude. The main waiter was not accommodating and a little condescending to guests in our party. It looks like they were trying a little too hard to be a Michelin style restaurant but they didn’t get the balance right between food and service. There was no atmosphere in the restaurant.

Very special place. 8 course taster was incredible. How they come up with these meals I’ll never know. The staff were second to none. Knowledgable in every aspect. Can’t rate it highly enough. Special memory, thank you to the staff for being so kind!

I visited Ormer with my friends last Saturday 21/01/23 and I have to say it was one of the most amazing meals and experiences I have had in a long time. We had a drink at the bar before our meal and the service and cocktails were amazing! When we finished our cocktails, we were brought to our table by Lorenzo who welcomed us so warmly and hands down made the experience so memorable! We opted for the 8 course tasting menu along with wine pairing. Every course was intriguing , tasteful and perfectly executed, showcasing a great deal of skill and precision from the Chefs ( and major kudos to the creativeness of Sofian the exec chef who designed the menu and created such a masterpiece) ,The wine perfectly complemented every course and the Sommelier (Serg I believe his name was) was interactive and so knowledgeable. Overall, from the service , attentiveness, cocktails, wine and of course the food , I can’t stress enough how everyone needs to experience Ormer at some point! Hats off to the chefs , the kitchen staff , the front of house , Serg and Lorenzo for making it such an incredible experience !
Be the first to ReplyWonderful 30th Anniversary Dinner
I'm sorry this is a bit late (September 22) but I need to get back into travel / Trip Advisor mode !! . A remarkable 6 or 8 course tasting menu and a terrific range of wines (often by the glass) We were told there are only 30 covers an evening and that certainly showed: the quality of the service was excellent throughout.. Lastly, although there are wine pairings , they have an expert sommelier and if you aren't sure what to drink with a particular dish, then ask him !!!! We got a recommendation of Madeira with the soft cheeses : absolutely spot on. This is expensive of course but very much worth it for an anniversary or big birthday. I guarantee you will not regret it. And at my wife's request, we went in privately hired London Black Cab. Terrific experience !!

This is by far the best I have ever experienced not just the food, its the full package the service was so on point. The staff were all friendly & professional without being over the top. We went for the tasing menu everything was an experience of tastes, We have been to a few 5 star hotels for dinner & tried tasting menus which have all been good but I can honestly say this is the best. Go for the tasting menu you won't be disappointed

This is an amazing experience for food lovers. The standard is 3 star Michelin, magnificent food, beautifully presented and served graciously. Every course unique, magic from start to finish. Surroundings tasteful, staff very professional and knowledgeable. We didn't want the experience to end! I cannot recommend the experience more highly.
Be the first to ReplyHidden gem!
My partner and I had a great birthday dinner at Ormer Mayfair. The dining room is beautiful, Art Deco style, and pleasantly quiet. On the London dining scene, more often than not you are forced to shout to be heard across the table! Not at Ormer fortunately. Service was outstanding, professional (getting rare these days…) and friendly, not overbearing, perfect balance. The staff contribute to the relaxed yet classy atmosphere. And the food & wine were amazing! We had the 8 course menu with Prestige wine pairing. Beautifully presented plates and you get pleasantly surprised by innovative dishes such as the warm Jamon Iberico jelly, the sweetbread in pear & walnut mustard or the cod and clams in Yuzu blended foie gras! The Prestige wines were a great mix of classic French grand crus and most interesting discoveries from Italy, Austria or South Africa. Not to mention the 30-year port wine on cheese! Altogether a fantastic evening! This place is Michelin star material. We look forward to returning on another occasion.

We've eaten here 3 times; this was our first experience since Shaun Rankin has left and I ahve to say, it was by far the best. We opted for the 8 course tasting menu which was exceptional, honestly breathtakingly good. What sets Ormer apart is the service provided by staff - I found them to be enthusiastic, polite, unpretentious and wholly knowledgeable about the food they were serving. We came here for our 10 year anniversary and they made it truly memorable day. Wouldn't hesitate to return and recommend

I've been with my girlfriend and we've been so pleased to be there! They work on the tasting menu only and the experience they offer is one of the most unique we ever had! It's a must to try!

Been coming for year’s, on this visit it just wasn’t as good as previous experiences, though the food was mostly good, couple of inconsistencies showed.
Most disappointing was a slight damp smell were we sat didn’t help.

Amazing From Start to Finish
We had the five course tasting menu and cannot recommend it highly enough. Each course was absolutely delicious. The service and attention to detail made it one of the best dining experiences ever.
