Wonderful hospitality! Just want to give Leslie a shout out for being so kind in recommending food over the phone! She was so patient and gave me such great advice. Her kindness and expertise are so appreciated. I'll report back about the food after we eat.

I hadn't been there in a long time and loved everything I ordered (great vegetarian options). It's been around for a long time but the quality is still at its best. The patio was lovely and service was great.

My favorite restaurant in Cambridge! We went here for a celebratory team dinner, and the ambiance was warm, casual, and intimate. Stand-outs on the menu were the desserts! Definitely get the Baked Alaska. Excited to come back and try more of their mezze

I love this place! it's one of a kind! Heart warming and delicious. Never had a bad time or bad service.
Be the first to ReplyThis place was yum! Very fun to try lots of small dishes.
The spread was good but very small. I really liked the samosa dish. But the star was the donuts for desert. They're like elevated Taco Bell donuts w the yummy cream filling and cinnamon. I came back and got some to go cuz I was daydreaming about it. Great service and cool cozy place but I def felt a little close and cramed to other tables. But delicious fresh foods

Everything we got was delicious. It's not a cheap place, but it's worth it!

Loved this restaurant although I visited many years ago and haven't been able to secure a reservation since!
Be the first to ReplyA phenomenal meal.
A special occasion restaurant for sure, but 100% worth trying if you live in Cambridge or Boston. Very easy to order for dietary restrictions. Been thinking about the food for months.

With nearly 2k reviews, you know this is a restaurant worth trying. So I'm going to keep it short and sweet with what we ate and what I'd recommend. Fantastic and would highly recommend: - Fatteh - Vermont Quail Kebab - Spinach Falafel - Baked Alaska Good, but not great: - Scallops & Spanish-Style Bean Stew - Whipped Feta - Almond Cremolata - Seasonal Sharbat (cocktail) Would not recommend - Deviled Eggs - Bamboo Improved (cocktail)

Wine selection is amazing, love their sparkling red wine. "Best chicken of my life" - my boyfriend

I love this place and will be bringing every guest I have in town to try this spot. All the dishes are delicious and the Baked Alaska is a MUST! Make sure to have a reservation because the space is small and more intimate. The ambience is great for drinks, date night, and good conversation with friends.

Upon entering I was underwhelmed by the restaurant as it felt cramped and stuffy. Our table wasn't ready and there was no where to wait comfortably. However, once seated, the service was prompt and the vibe changed for the better for me. This is a foodie spot! They serve wine and beer only but do have their unique "wine" cocktails which are a fun menu item! To start we got the "hot toddy" and it was warm and flavorful. For apps we ordered the olives , the whipped feta and quail kabob. The olives were so tasty and the quail kabobs were unreal! Loved the plating. We also ordered the latke and I would say this was a must have! For our main dish we shared the lemon chicken. The cheese pancake was delicious! So flavorful and cooked perfectly. Big enough to share. We were sadly too full for desert. We will be back in the spring to hopefully sit outdoors!Tip- pricing is pretty reasonable for the high quality of food if you limit the number of "cocktails" you have.

The food is absolutely delicious! Tastes fresh and has really unique flavors. These are not dishes you can typically make at home. The service was really good, very fast, and the restaurant has a great vibe. Plus they have a great wine menu. Would recommend to fellow foodies in a heartbeat!
Be the first to ReplySuper cute restaurant.
The drinks were fantastic & the food was very flavorful. I recommended a reservation
Be the first to ReplyThis may be my new favorite restaurant.
Let me start with the service, everyone was extremely welcoming and the atmosphere was perfect for a nice night out. Now for the food, while the portions felt slightly smaller than I expected, every dish we got was absolutely delicious. My two favorites were the Fatteh and the Falafel. We paired it nicely with a bottle of red. At the end of the night, we enjoyed the food so much that we ended up buying a copy of their cookbook!

Came here for dinner with friends on Sunday and absolutely loved it! For the three of us, our waiter recommended 6-7 plates--we ended up ordering 6 which was the perfect amount for us. We ordered the Spinach Falafel, Za'atar Bread & Whipped Yellow Lentils, Butternut Squash Hummus Special, Dark Leafy Greens, Fatteh, and Stuffed Latke. For drinks, I got a Rose Lemonade, which was perfectly floral and refreshing. Since I can't eat gluten, they were nice enough to provide some crudités for me (cucumber, radish, bell pepper)! Out of the dishes, the Butternut Squash Hummus Special was definitely my favorite, followed closely by the Za'atar Bread & Whipped Yellow Lentils. My least favorite dish was the Fatteh, but overall everything was delicious and super flavorful. For dessert, we ordered the Turkish Coffee Chocolate Custard and the Almond Cremolata. I honestly loved both and am having trouble picking a favorite--the Turkish Coffee Chocolate Custard was creamy and had a variety of textural components which worked well together and the Almond Cremolata was light and delicious. I'd highly recommend both. Overall, this was a great dining experience! Service was so lovely and our food came pretty fast one after the other. I would definitely come back to try more on the menu.

Oleana is one of the best restaurants I've been to in Cambridge. All of the Mezze were amazing, with standouts for our group being the Spinach Falafel, the Fatteh, the Sultan's Delight, and the Topik. The desserts were also wonderful, the profiteroles were decadent, very sweet and caramel-y. Plating was beautiful. The ambience was intimate. And the service was very attentive, I've never been so consistently refilled on water in my life. Definitely snag a reservation ahead of time!

This place!I'd venture to say it's one of the best in Boston! Hands down!Everything they make is to die for! Absolutely delish! Melts in your mouth! Just yum! Had the Hummus, latke, quail, and gyro! With each a glass of wine. To finish the baklava. And literally no complaints other than I wish I could eat and try more! If you have one night in boston, make this your spot to try! You won't be disappointed. Make a reservation though if you can, or come prepared to wait for awhile. As it's popular for good reasons. The staff was wonderful! And the prices reasonable. To have the meal we did for $150. Is unheard of in California. Easily a $300 meal where we are from! So take it from some foodies! This place is the bees knees.
Be the first to ReplyCame here for an early dinner on a Wednesday.
The restaurant was pretty empty when we got there at 5:30 but it filled up quickly. I'd recommend making reservations ahead of time here. The Fatteh was my favorite dish here. The crispy flatbread was so crunchy and delicious, and it paired well with the roasted cauliflower and the sauce. I also really liked the Zaatar bread and whipped yellow lentils. It was so smooth and I liked the flavor a lot. The Zaatar bread was well seasoned and went so well with the lentil paste, we didn't let the waiter take the lentils away until we scraped off every last drop.We also got the Sultan's Delight and the Whipped Feta. Those were pretty good in my opinion but not as good as the top two.The Broccoli Kale Kohlrabi was disappointing, unfortunately. I was bummed to find out it tasted like someone decided to stuff broccoli into some microwaveable pizza rolls. Of course the quality of the food was amazing, but the taste was just very average.Lastly for dessert, we got the baked alaska. It was good, but honestly not that good. I didn't realize a good 40% of this is straight up whipped cream. We ate heaping spoonfuls of whipped cream with every bite of this dessert. Ate it with the delicious burnt sugar shell, ate it with the unique guava cake. Even ate it with the ice cream. At the end, there was STILL MORE WHIPPED CREAM LEFT! We were left eating entire spoonfuls of JUST whipped cream, since we paid $16 for it....So a good mix of delicious and disappointing here, but overall the food was still really really good and perhaps I just had high expectations because of how much I loved Oleana's sister restaurant, Sarma. Service and atmosphere were spectacular.
Be the first to ReplyAt the forefront of my mind during my first visit to Oleana
At the forefront of my mind during my first visit to Oleana was "How does this place compare to Sarma?" Unfortunately, I must report that Sarma blows Oleana out of the water. Out of the 6 dishes we ordered, there were a lot of bright spots, but also a lot of room for improvement. The fatteh was a bright spot, but as for everything else, even the good dishes Sarma can do better. Whipped Feta (4/5): The feta was delicious. It had a really nice blend of peppers and cheese, finely balancing the spiciness and the strong cheese aroma. This was my 3rd favorite dish.Za'atar Bread & Whipped Yellow Lentils (5/5): The bread was deliciously seasoned and soft. It didn't come out that warm, though. The whipped lentils were SO smooth and creamy. Really incredible. This was my 2nd favorite dish.Fatteh (FAVORITE): This was my favorite dish. The cauliflower was so perfectly roasted and yet so tender. It was charred to perfection. The crispy pita bread was awesome. The yogurt sauce brought it all together.Broccoli, Kale, Kohlrabi Borek (3/5): This was very average. Nothing bad, but the vegetables tasted like they could have been frozen. The sauce was also uninspired.Sultan's Delight (4/5): The first bite I had of this was great. The meat was so, so tender. As I ate more, the sauce become overwhelming. The sauce overpowers the meat and the smoky eggplant puree. We could have used more eggplant puree to balance out the sauce (the puree was delicious, by the way)Baked Alaska (3/5): Tasty, but definitely not a must-order like everyone else says. WAY too sweet. Even if it weren't too sweet, I don't think it's anything special. It also costs $16... for that much, you could get another hot mezze dish! Overpriced and not worth.Service was great. Seating is also very cozy. We were near a nice little fireplace.

This is a wonderful place for a delicious ice coffee and a bite of French/ Latin breakfast or lunch. Staff is super friendly and polite. Sitting by the lake watching the swamp chicken is very relaxing.

Dinner review: Great dishes and great vibes but overshadowed by the awkward and unprofessional service. I can see the potential and the hype this place has but our server, a larger sassy gentlemen, left a bad taste in our mouths that did not compliment the food very well. Our server gave our family quite a judgemental attitude and disappeared for a lot of our meal. He mentioned that hot plates take around 30 minutes to come out but from the time we placed our order until the last dish came out, we waited over an hour. The dishes, however, were excellent and decadent. I personally like the fatteh the best. Even though the dishes were wonderful and had a lot of umami, it was a bit much for my palette. I felt like a lot of it was heavy, meaty, and very savory. I like a balance of more bright, fresh, or acidic flavors and I didn't get that from here. Food: 7/10 Vibes: 7/10 Service: 4/10 Value: 6/10
Be the first to ReplySmaller portion but amazing ambience.
A perfect place for date night. Must try: Topik and Fatteh

In Cambridge, Oleana sits on a quiet neighborhood street, discreetly tucked away from the crowds at Harvard Square. Its an old house converted-- with cultural artifacts inside, I felt home as soon as we walked in. I loved my first Turkish meal and whoah - while the menu was elevated, one of Boston's famous chefs Ana Sortun has fine tuned the flavors here evidenced by steady and loyal Bostonians dining here for over 20 years. Showing up 10 minutes before opening had over 30 patrons in line. There are 3 things that impressed me about Oleana. 1) the superb food and the 2) super friendly and informative service 3) adequately rewarding its employees with 20% service automatically added to the bill. We shared 3 plates since we had a late lunch and picked random plates. Not only was our waiter super friendly and enumerated the menu in delicious detail I was honestly blown away with the meal. Would love to try the rest of the menu and bring family here when I return. At Oleana the 20% service fee was warranted as the caliber of service was top notch. End of Yelp.

Had a wonderful sandwich and cake at Olenka! My friend and I split the chicharrone sandwich which comes with pork, sweet potatoes, and lightly pickled red onions. Great contrast in textures and balanced flavors! Would definitely order again. Also had a cuatro leches cake (tres + dulce) super rich, creamy, and delicious! Our server Isma was really attentive and helped us have a wonderful experience here!
