Fantastic restaurant in the heart of the West End! The coley was excellent. My partner loved the beef too. The cauliflower gratin was creamy and nicely favored. Two course meal for L21. Great customer service too. Book ahead if you want to visit here!

We had a lovely experience at Number 16!Service was friendly, and the location is small but very cozy, and very clean. Now let's talk about the food!We ordered the crispy pork cheek, which was good, but our least favorite of everything we had that night. The venison tartar: absolutely AMAZING.Seared scallops that were absolutely perfect.Venison haunch: delicate, delicious, and would absolutely order again in a heartbeat.Chestnut gnocchi: amazing. Legitimately probably one of the most delicious gnocchi dishes I've ever had. Even with a couple of drinks, the cost was very affordable. If we ever find ourselves in Glasgow again, I would definitely eat here again and again and again!

We were served our starters an hour and 20 minutes after arriving. They appear to cook table-by-table.Food was good but definitely not worth the wait. Left hungry.Service friendly.

We hadn't eaten here for some years, having had a poor experience on our previous visit. However, I am glad to say that the quality has improved immensely, and this is now firmly on my list of favourite local restaurants. It's a bit cramped for space and nearly always busy, so be prepared for a noisy, boisterous environment. But the menu, although small, has interesting selections and caters moderately well for veggie and vegan options. You can tell you're in for an interesting mean when you see that one of the starters is scallops with... popcorn? Gets my vote!

While the food was mostly very good, our experience with the faux Red haired waitress was so unpleasant and full of attitude that I wish I'd left the restaurant when she first unleashed her toxic personality. Condescending sums it up. Her attitude comes up when you ask her a question. She manages to make you feel stupid and unwelcome very quickly. For someone as knowledgeable as her it's a mystery to me why I wasn't given a steak knife for my lower quality cut of beef. While we were signing for the dinner she turned on the charm for the first time as the tip was being decided.

We absolutely loved this place! We ordered from their tasting menu - braised duck croquette and miso salmon for appetizers, and filet mignon and sea bream for entrees. We loved every dish! The ingredients were very fresh and in season, and we really enjoyed the unexpected flavour combination in each dish. The portions look small at first, but were surprisingly filling - we were both stuffed after 2 courses! For vegetarians tho, the selection from their tasting menu may be a bit limited. It's also only a few minutes walk from Kelvingrove Art Gallery, very convenient for our itinerary. Would highly recommend this place!
Be the first to ReplyGood food.
I ordered the duck which was phenomenal, much better then any duck I've had in America. But the barley mash that came with it was disappointing. If the duck was bad, it would've been a 2 Star review. The restaurant itself just seemed so cramped, and I've been to plenty of small restaurants in NYC.The service was slow, and I went on a Tuesday evening. They were not busy enough to excuse the service. The waitress was very polite. The menu is so small, you almost pick something for an entree out of process of elimination.

Salmon for starter, lamb for main, brownie and sorbet for desert.Excellent selection of wines, whisky and desert drinks

A small place that has a great restaurant! What a find in Glasgow! If you can make it, do not miss this restaurant for the food, friendly management, and easy welcoming atmosphere.
Be the first to ReplyWow - what a delightful restaurant.
We visited in early May and had an exquisite lunch here. We both opted for the set menu. For my starter, I had the heirloom tomato salad. The tomatoes were incredibly fresh and full of flavor. For my main course, I went with the herbed gnocchi. I've never had such light and airy gnocchi before! Truly delicious. The wait staff was all incredibly nice and several of them even stopped over to chat about our travels through the UK. Note that the restaurant is very small (only ~10 small tables in the whole place) so make sure to call ahead, as you don't want to miss Number 16!

I, a foodie, have lived in Glasgow ten months and this is the best restaurant I have been to. I took a gamble brining my parents here when they came to visit as I knew it was small and none of my friends have been. But now the question is, why have my friends not been??? They will now after my non stop praise. Get the pork belly. It is their masterpiece. Accompanied by black pudding and an apple vanilla sauce the flavors are bold and magical. However, If you like monkfish, well the sauce my mother had was absolutely beautiful and delicious, making it almost just as good as my pork belly although extremely different. My fathers duck, although cooked perfectly, was the weakest dish simply due to the extraordinary measures of the other two. Also don't miss the dessert!!!! I don't even like apricots yet I could have destroyed the apricot cheesecake entirely on my own. However I let my father do that. I myself demolished the chocolate mousse with raspberry ice cream. It was what dreams are made of. Screw your diet, it's worth it. Go to Number 16. If you don't like it you can blame me. But you won't.
