My boyfriend and I stayed in Vancouver for a few days for his holiday work party celebration. We were craving for some creamy pasta and this place did not dissapoint! We had ordered uni cream pasta and it was soooo good. We mixed the uni with the rest of the pasta to even distribute the flavor and it gave a nice sweet flavor. The baby scallops were also good and complimented the dish. The shrimp was amazing! Tasted nice and they were huge too. The next dish we ordered was the omelette rice. This was my boyfriend's favorite! The gravy was really tasty, nice with the mushrooms and beef. Each bite makes you want more. For dessert, I forgot the name but it was a chocolate brownie with yuzu and Foie gras. The flavors go well with each other! A nice citrus, sweet, and bitter intertwine to create a nice end to the dinner. We would definitely go back the next time we're in the area as we would love to try their other items.

Finally, I had the chance to visit Noah's Cafe, which offers Japanese fusion food, and the ambiance is cozy and stylish. It's located near English Bay. The day I visited this restaurant had beautiful weather with plenty of sunshine, making it perfect for a leisurely walk along the beach. It was a wonderful day to visit this restaurant. What I had: Uni butter - House-made butter with uni and miso, served with charcoal bread, was outstanding. The rich uni paste butter blends wonderfully with the miso, making it a perfect appetizer. Foie gras Unagi pie - Phyllo pastry with unagi, foie gras, mushrooms, and cheese. The phyllo pastry was a bit soggy, and the sauce overwhelmed all the ingredients, making it a bit too rich." Duck carppacio - One of the best dishes for a delightful night. Please do give it a try Confit beef tongue - sweet ginger soy marinade paired exceptionally well with the deliciously chewy and tender beef tongue. This is a must-try. Squid and chips - A hearty portion of deep-fried squid with fried Brussels sprouts. The Brussels sprouts were a bit salty, but that's okay Pasta - I forgot the name of this pasta, but the ingredients included beef, red pepper, and chili. It turned out to be spicier than I expected. However, the white sauce blended in perfectly, resulting in a dish with an impactful flavor. The highlight was the cocktails! We ordered a Japanese Greyhound, a bubble cocktail with tableside presentation by the server. It was quite fancy. And the Lady in Pink cocktail was really delightful. It had a fantastic balance of sweet and savory, leaning more towards the sweet side. I absolutely loved it Overall, I've decided to visit this restaurant again. It's a great place to go with friends after a leisurely walk along the beach in nice weather. Alternatively, it's perfect for warming up with more cocktails during the winter season. .
Be the first to ReplyJapanese forward Asian fusion that's all super tasty.
Everything was well balanced and easy to eat. The vibe was chill and friendly. Here's what we ordered. - Squid and chips: toddler approved calamari. It was tender, well seasoned and crispy. Everything you could ask for. The brussel sprouts were tender and well seasoned too. - Chicken karaaga: came out piping hot. Nothing too special. We had the non spicy sauces although our toddler felt the garlic aoli was spicy. - Foie gras and unagi pie: Has mushrooms in it as well with two creams and balsamic drizzle. The pastries was light and crispy. Sauces were super tasty. - Uni cream pasta: Perfect al dente pasta, creamy well balanced sauce, generous amount of shrimp, scallops, and uni. So good

4.5/5 TL;DR: cute little restaurant with good and unique food; great service Came here on a Thursday night without a reservation, but it was later in the evening, so was able to get a table. Service was impeccable. So nice and informative. FOOD: ~Uni butter (4/5): so much umami flavor! Very strong salty flavor, but with the bread (which was amazing) it was perfect. The seasonal jam was also so delicious! ~Foie Gras and Unagi Pie (4/5): Very interesting flavors! Was really really good. Only downside is the flavors can get a little muddled ~Beef tongue confit (3.75/5): Great flavors and the beef tongue was cooked great! It was on the greasier side, so I personally couldn't eat too much of it ~Uni pasta (4/5): Very good! Shrimp was cooked perfectly. Noodles are made in house and had a great chew! Wish it was a liiiitle more cooked, like 1 more minute Overall, had a great experience here!

Mostly small plates, from Japanese to Italian dishes, with gourmet touch. Some dishes are infused with truffle oil. Attentive friendly service. Dark and cozy setting, nice ambiance, friendly Japanese regulars, make you feel like at home. My preferred cuisine is Japanese. With good food combined with pleasant surroundings this was my favorite restaurant in Vancouver out of 6-7 restaurants that we tried.

Noah's cafe has the feel of a speakeasy hidden away in plain sight. We almost walked past the restaurant twice. The inside was very dark and atmospheric with great indie music. Sometimes it felt a bit loud both because of the background music as well the fact that you're very close to your neighbors. My husband and I dined here during our recent visit to Toronto. It was a 5-star experience. In fact, the food is solidly five stars and some of the best food we tasted in Toronto. Where the experience was a little lacking was the uncomfortable chairs (most of the seats in the establishment were high wooden chairs), loud environment and the sometimes long pause between certain dishes. But in the end, I'm still giving it 5 stars because of the great food and friendly service staff. Our entire waitstaff were so sweet and explained all the dishes very well. I would definitely go back very often if I actually lived here. Between my husband and me, we ordered 4 dishes to share, almost all of which were superb: 1. Uni creme pasta - my tie for favorite dish and my husband's favorite. The whole pasta is so decadent with rich uni flavor - I could taste the uni in the sauce as I was scrapping every morsel and drop off our plates at the end. And the generous portions of bay scallops, prawns, uni sashimi, and caviar definitely made this pasta feel like it's well worth the money. 2. Beef tartare - my tie for favorite dish. The combination of cured egg yolk, amazing seasoning, caviar, and tender beef tenderloin created such a great balance of salty, sour, and acidic - it was an unami bomb in my mouth. 3. Squid & chips - I honestly loved this dish too and it was only slightly below 1 & 2. The name is a little deceptive because the chip is the fried brussel sprouts which has this amazing bold flavor with slightly charred notes. The squid was also masterly and delicately fried - so tender on the inside and lightly battered on the outside. Probably the lightest "fish & chip" dish I've ever had and didn't made me feel gross and unhealthy after eating it. 4. Confit beef tongue - still pretty good but definitely our least favorite of the night. The beef tongue itself is very tender and you really need to mix it with all the creamy sauce and mirin mustard to truly taste the complexity of the flavors. There was a portion of the tongue that was maybe a bit too crunchy but it adds an interest textural element to the dish. I also ordered a virgin cilantro Yuzu mojito - it was very refreshing but a little too sweet. I also wish the drink came with a straw/stirrer so that we can dilute it ourself after we poured some water in there to dilute the sweetness.
