Newport Beachside Hotel & Resort Reviews from The Last Year
My wife and I got married and Newport in April 2024.
Our wedding at Newport was an absolute dream come true. Matilde is the BEST wedding event coordinator out there and once you meet her at Newport, you will know why. She made sure our day was nothing less than perect- from major to minor details. She made the wedding planning process painless and was very quick with answers and beyond accommodating from the day we signed the contract until we left the resort days after the wedding. I would suggest getting married at Newport for several reasons including the resort amenities, beautiful location and views, friendliness of the staff, the value for being right on the beach, and so much more. Several guests mentioned that it was the best wedding they've ever been to, how attentive and wonderful Matilde and her team was, and just how impressed overall they were. We are a gay couple, which we felt extremely welcomed and supported by everyone at Newport. Us being gay was never made "a thing" which is exactly what we were looking for so very LGBTQ+ friendly as well. Matilde and the Newport team made sure our weekend was absolutely magical and cannot recommend them for a wedding enough. We will be back and wish we could relive our wedding day at Newport forever!
If I could give zero starts I would.
This place was horrible. Did not disclose they were under construction at booking. Got there and the valet was full so we had to park across Collins Ave which is a super busy street ($25). The lobby is probably 85 degrees. The pool bar charges 22% gratuity and 9% tax "for your convenience". The pictures on the website are false advertisement because the hotel doesn't look like that. They are still under construction to make it look like that. The front desk staff is very dry and unwelcoming. We tried to get ice but, the machine was broken on our floor so we had to go to a different floor only to find mold on the ice machine. Needless to say we didn't get ice. Almost forgot, the valet guy was driving people's cars like if he was in a Formula One race. The fact that he is allowed to drive at all is insane. He almost crashed into us twice. The air conditioner in the room made a crackling noise all night so forget about sleeping. The jets in the bath tub were moldy and dirty. It was overall a HORRIBLE experience and we will never be back.
If it wasn't for me booking the beachfront room, I would've
If it wasn't for me booking the beachfront room, I would've given this a one star. Once you walk through the hotel lobby, you'll see tons of huge black stains all over the carpet. It's a shame that they do not care to do the most minimal of upkeep. Although the staff is nice, the entire hotel itself was so rundown, and extremely disgusting with FILTHY carpets. You walk into the room and it feels like a motel 6 from the 1970s. Everything was soooo old and even the coffee table was rattling, that I actually ended up putting all the screws back into it and tightening the screws myself with my fingernail, so that it would stop shaking when I was using it I did not know that this hotel allows kids to stay for free if they are under certain age. I prefer kidless hotels. I booked this on Expedia for 3 nights at $500 a night bc I wanted to check out Sunny Isles and be on the beach and I did not have an opportunity to go on Yelp so I relied solely on the pictures on Expedia, which was an amateur move on my part. Every day I felt so gross walking into my room because it smelled like mold everywhere. Everything is so dirty, old and I wouldn't even sit on the couch in my room without putting a brand new towel on it first. The couch was filthy! Every Inch that I walked had to be with shoes on inside my room. Even the hallway going to the room seemed so dark, dirty and sketchy, and the carpet along the entirety of all hallways were filled with disgusting stains that have been sitting there for a long time that eventually turns to mold in the air. They don't even have the decency to do a carpet wash. Elevators are so slow and when it's a rush-hour to check out you're better off taking the stairs as I had to wait five different times because the elevators were so full. Although the beachfront room view was great I just got back from 15 days at a gorgeous brand new and modern mansion with a private beach at www.BonaireBeachVillas.com (stayed at villa 3 the biggest one), I was hardly in my room and it felt like it was a waste of my money after just experiencing true oceanfront luxury in Bonaire, Caribbean. The pool area had amazing music, which was euro 80s like new wave but their menu selection was depressing. I had a chicken Caesar salad and the chicken was so cold and hard lol. But I guess you can't expect much from this place.
Worst hotel resort in Florida I've ever stayed at!! Do not
Worst hotel resort in Florida I've ever stayed at!! Do not believe the website's photos because it doesn't look like that in person.Stayed one night before our cruise, had a disgusting experience and staff is very rude especially when you try to talk to them about your room being nasty.Trash on the beach (bottle caps, plastic cups, cig butts, ect. Not to mention how nasty the hallway carpets are and how the hotel smells very bad.We got a king oceanfront suite, our balcony had shit on it, the coffee maker I'm pretty sure has never been cleaned, the walls had nasty spots all over, idk what on them but it wasn't paint. Bedding smelled of mold. Knats in the jet tub oh and by the way NONE of the jet tubs worked, I asked why ours didn't she said none of them did in the hotel. So then why are they even there, false advertising. We paid $387 for one night had I known this room/resort was so nasty we would have definitely stayed elsewhere. Don't expect any doorknobs to be cleaned either as I guess that's not part of housekeepings responsibility, all light switches and plug outlets have never been cleaned either. Floors had yucky grime on them and mold under sinks which is probably why the room smelled as it did. They redone the pool area but should have thought more about doing the inside of the hotel. Tiki bar made horrible drinks, two nasty drinks cost us $54, never again. The restaurant isn't open they say because of remodeling but yet no one tells you this til you actually check in and ask. The restaurant on the pier right next door is aweful and very very pricey. Will never return and sure the hell would never recommend to anyone. Water pressure was the worst in the shower and had to wait for water to warm back up in order to get another shower. The hand railings in tub have never been cleaned. Filth all around the whole entire room.I complained and showed all the pics I took to the woman at front desk she acted like I was just annoying her so she didn't even look at me. I have more pics of this nasty hotel will use them on the other reviews I give on sites as well. Zero is what I would have rated this place as.
This is supposed to be a non smoking property, however
This is supposed to be a non smoking property, however people were smoking both pot and cigarettes in their room. Called front desk twice and they said they would send up security. Nothing changed and ended up with a migraine. Would never stay here again
I cannot say enough bad things about this hotel.
From the moment we arrived on property, we were treated poorly and left unassisted even though staff were present to assist with vehicle and bags. Checked in and then the room key didn't work. Had to go back downstairs while also carrying my own bags (which happened to be a lot of bags). Went to bathroom and immediately ran out shouting because there were TWO cockroaches in the bathroom. One by the toilet and one in the tub/shower. Second day at the hotel and the power was shut off; I was there for a wedding and showered in cold water, with no lights and no air. The rooms are so old and desperately need to be updated. The amenities are up to date but the actual rooms are not, it does not make sense. Hotel staff was not very helpful or understanding. Parking???? No but they will charge you for it. You park yourself across the street where anyone can access the vehicles. To finish this lovely review off, I'd like to add that I called four times for housekeeping.... with no success because we never got the room tidied up. In conclusion, don't stay here. Go somewhere else because this hotel is unsanitary and an uncomfortable stay.
Place is disgusting and the staff is even worse.
Local area is filled with violent, homeless people.
Horrible!! Bad experience everrrr!!!! Resort fee just
Horrible!! Bad experience everrrr!!!! Resort fee just covered to use 2 beach chairs/room, no umbrella! If you need umbrella there's an $25 extra, also for extra chair 25/chair, ridiculous!! There's more things beyond that, they charged $26/day for parking that not in the same property but cross the street uncovered parking lot! UNBELIEVABLE!!
Beware! If you're not satisfied they will refuse to refund
Beware! If you're not satisfied they will refuse to refund you! Based on the pictures of this property online and the premium price of the room I expected a premium product. What I got was anything but. The oceanfront room I paid extra for was on ground level facing the concrete patio. When brought to the attention of the manager he explained "Ocean Front" means unobstructed view. What I apparently booked was an "Ocean View" which may or may not be obstructed. This is not explained on the resort's website and is intentionally misleading. I couldn't find the room at first. It's numbered as a second floor room but the "second floor" doesn't exist. It's on the ground floor, up a few creaky wooden stairs which was not explained at check-in. The room itself was dirty and outdated. BLOOD stains on the sheets, dirt and stains on the couch, dirty, stained carpet, a clogged sink, and a broken lamp. The balcony itself is very spacious, just don't expect a shred of privacy on the ground floor. If valet parking is full, you have to park at an unkept, sketchy parking lot across the street, a very busy street you have to cross each time. Normally I wouldn't see this as an issue. However, for the premium price this resort charges this is unacceptable. It should at least be explained on the website, which it isn't. On a positive note, the staff were excellent and very friendly. The manager was very helpful and did send staff to change the sheets and fix the drain. However, the overall quality of this resort, and the misleading website left a bad impression. I will not be returning.
Do not fall for the you don't need to sit for 90 minute
Do not fall for the you don't need to sit for 90 minute tour. They don't give free tickets as promised. They have been remodeling this hotel for as long as remember.
