Great experience! The food is pricey but loved the experience & the wait staff was very attentive & spot on with the recommendations.
Be the first to ReplyNot as innovative and cutting edge as it once was, Mr.
Chow is solid, consistent and very good. Always great hospitality and service. The cocktails are excellent. The vibe is always great, particularly on Friday and Saturday evening. Not winning any prizes, always pricey, but still a treat.
Be the first to ReplyAmazing food.
Crispy beef my favorite along with bok Choy. 10 for service. Everyone goes out of their way to accommodate all customers. As clean a restaurant as you will ever see. A little pricey, but this isn't bodega Chinese food. If you're ever in Vegas, try their location there. It's beautiful.

the horrible reviews foreshadow exactly how you'd expect this restaurant to be -- tacky, overpriced, outdated, and distasteful. food was okay but so scarcely portioned out and expensive ambiance was nice but tables were squished together in a confusing array. furniture is all quite old and falling apart especially in the bathroom the waiter kept pressuring us to do the tasting menu even though we wanted to go a la carte we were also asked to put down a credit card in the middle of the meal before being offered the chèque
Be the first to ReplyThe food was less than good but edible.
Nothing stood out. But for a place that expensive, there should be a dress code. There were children there with their feet on the seats, laying down, on iPads, and people in sweatsuits and sneakers. The fact that waiters had tuxes but the guests can wear anything brought down the ambiance for me. I cannot spend that kind of money for ok food and feeling like I'm eating in a food court.
Be the first to ReplyFood is great here but pricy.
Worth the try. The service is good here. I will go back.
Be the first to Reply3rd time here and I think I'm done .
Very cramped loud and way overpriced for the quality of food . Guess you just need to come see for yourself but there's a reason they only have assets in cities that will over pay
Be the first to ReplyGreat food, amazing service.
I took my husband here for his birthday and he enjoyed the food. They really made him feel special as the birthday guy. The fiery beef and chicken satay was delicious.
Be the first to ReplyA depressing shadow of its former self.
Stripped of art. Architectural features neglected. Food was fine but expect to be uncharged for the prix fixe when you don't request it. And also expect to receive half portions for quadruple the money. That only Works when the experience is fabulous. Unfortunately the experience has become quite underwhelming and the joint is just dirty

I truly have never had worse Asian food anywhere. We had the potstickers which floated in a plate of oil . The scallion pancake tasted like a ball of flavorless raw bread dough in the mouth, the sautéed vegetables were oily and veggies raw, the sweet and sour pork entree was far more pineapple and peppers and very little pork and just coated in a overly sweet sauce, the filet mignonette was inedible as it tasted like it had been marinated in liquid smoke. This place was big in the 90's. It's clearly corporatized and OVER!

Horrendously overpriced for food worse than you would get from a Chinese take-away. Absolute tourist trap. It has the facade of being a high end restaurant with liveried waiters, but at the end of the day it is all sizzle and no sausage.

It has been several years since we last visited this location so we forgot about those steep stairs down to the main dining area. Yesterday we took my 86-year old mom here for an early dinner and asked the hostess whether we can sit at the ground floor level since most of the tables were empty there and my mum would have difficulty walking down the steep stairs to the seat they assigned to us. We were immediately told that people were calling on the phone to reserve the ground level tables. There was no accommodation discussed for my elderly mom. We were greatly disappointed at the lack of customer consideration at this location. True upscale restaurant is not just about the food and the decorations.
Be the first to ReplyI hate leaving bad reviews but can't not leave one here.
Service was atrocious, we were all but bullied out of ordering the way we wanted, and a member of my party was served food he specifically told the waiter he was allergic to multiple times. Would avoid, especially if you or member of your party has an allergy.
Be the first to ReplyThis place has turned into a scam for tourists.
Continuingly upselling from the waiters to the point of it being uncomfortable. We basically could not just order the way we wanted. Really felt like they just wanted to over charge and turn the table. Food average at best. . .

Overhyped overpriced and flavorless! My partner and I celebrated valentine's day at Mr Chow last night. The hostesss and the staff were very accommodating and cordial. The seating arrangement was poorly designed and congested with zero room to sit comfortably. The prefixed valentine's menu at 225 a person for 3 courses seemed very expensive at first glance. The food was bland with poor presentation to boot. The final bill was $600 usc with tax and gratuity for this overpriced overrated insipid meal. If you want to be seen and be around rich people go there. If you want value for the food you pay for go to Chinatown.

In a single word 'Amazing'We met with clients for a business dinner on a Monday evening. Picked the 57th street location. I'd heard of Mr Chow as a fine dining Chinese restaurant and wanted to try it. We picked the the pre fix menuLobster Shumai, salt and pepper prawns were great appetizers For mains we ordered a sweet and sour fish, a king pao chicken, a fiery beef and a green pawn entree. They were all spectacularThe chocolate cake was greatThe ambiance and vibe were excellent as was the service. From Flower arrangements To table settings, everything was impeccable It is quite pricy, dinner for four was over $600 without ordering any alcoholic drinks!

Way overrated! Ppl who rave about the food here have obviously never had real Chinese food. The best thing about that restaurant is the staff.
Be the first to ReplyToo long a wait even with reservations .
Stood for hour and half. Too packed in and the food was just basic. Wouldn't return. Guess you go so you can say you have gone.
Be the first to ReplyFood was good but the ambiance is ok.
Service was good but needs improvement with attentiveness. We were a larger crowd so not sure if that creates a delay in service but the food is worth the wait. The duck was amazing! It's worth going for the duck.
Be the first to ReplyHaving enjoyed Me Chow in LA for many decades before moving
Having enjoyed Me Chow in LA for many decades before moving to a small, sleepy beach town on the east coast, I was jonesing for some great Chinese cuisine. My sister and I took a holiday trip to NYC and we added Mr Chows to the "must experience" list. Service was great but the food was mediocre at best. They jammed guest into tables so tight, the people next to me had to move if I wanted to use the ladies room. We had the family style menu- where we ordered some appetizers (lettuce wraps and mr chow noodles) and 2 main dishes ( crispy beef & duck). The food was bland and all tasted the same. I had the duck, which was just a plate of fatty skin. My sister and I kept looking at each other - we could not believe how bad and under seasoned everything was. Our bill with tip was $ 350 (I had 2 cocktails) and we felt like we were gypped. I don't mind spending money on a great culinary experience, but this dinner was certainly one of the worst meals I've ever had. We were both so disappointed. Next time we're going to Chinatown and have an authentic Chinese meal. Mr. Chow has lost the plot.
