Magnificent view, poor tasting, either absent or bad chef
A fantastic view but such a pity that the dining is bad... Went to the restaurant - as highly recommended. View was breathtaking and this is definitely one of the best spots. Reception was OK with an excellent drink and nice bread. From here...Cold, unpleasantly air conditioning and the personel saw that at least at three tables all guests took their clothes / overcoats. Light was too bright - no atmosphere at all. Only a tasting menu was available, but there was no overall presentation. Wine was supposed to be paired, but the sommelier offered only one bottle of white wine, that frankly was not impressive. Again no presentation, and it was not complementary. At our table and at another table there was a discussion about a glass of red wine paired with the meat, but that was "forgotten" (and it is not an issue of cost). 12 courses - absolutely too much as they were served over 4 hours and many did not really differ in texture or taste. Overall very bland as taste and texture, nothing special nothing wow. Poorly presented - some personnel was unable to speak english, using only fake smiles and a too repeated "scuze me" (a uncoordinated "dance of several persons and not a sense that you had a maitre d" or somebody that was really caring for you). When the meat course arrived, we were announced that there is no more beef and we should taste duck. Refusing, we were offered with contempt Waygu beef, which was horribly cooked and tasted...By the end of the 4 hours one of the toilet cabins was dirty., The price was one 50 per cent more than in another Michelin restaurant in Bilbao. So this should be downgraded or change the chef or the chef was absent. Poor experience excepting the magnificent view

Top location in an unforgettable setting. I enjoyed the 13-course menu, 10 of them were even excellent. Service was courteous and friendly. The only negative point is the wine (small selection and some producers are always unavailable). As mentioned, the menu was great, although a little one-sided when it came to fish and seafood, a little more variety with meat and poultry would have been great. The dessert needs to be worked on.
Be the first to ReplyNice experience
I went with my mother. I don't usually eat in these types of restaurants, but they made me feel at home with food that I liked even though I'm not a fan of vegetables. In short, I really liked the experience.
Be the first to ReplyA table at the top
We did not understand the few negative comments about this extraordinary place. First of all, the location and the breathtaking view of the two bays of San Sebastian, especially at sunset, but above all for the quality of the menu, the kindness of the welcome and the service. We had reserved a five-course menu, but the entire menu made us want a “tasting” menu: the chef agreed to prepare and serve this succession of 12 delights. With a beautiful Rioja for a very reasonable price. A must do if you visit San Sebastian.

A place of another level, its facilities and spaces very nice and comfortable to my liking. The food was a spectacle, congratulations to the kitchen and the service, very attentive and attentive to each of the dishes, I felt like I was a movie star with so many waiters attending to me and serving everything in the best way, I jump to highlight in particular one waiter Jhoan, Jhona or Jhonatan who was the final touch to a very special afternoon for me and my partner with his excellent service and disposition before us. I would repeat this experience over and over again without a doubt. I congratulate all your staff and thank you very much. A HIGHLY RECOMMENDED DREAM PLACE thank you so much
Be the first to ReplyViews for miles but rudest waitress and mediocre food
I booked a table for my mom, my sister and myself to celebrate my birthday while we were in San Sebastián. We were visiting from the US. I was so excited for the tasting menu and the views… We were staying at the Maria Cristina and when we checked in two days before our dinner reservation, we asked for a taxi for our dinner here. The taxi was late, even though we were in front of the hotel early. The bellman assured us we would be ok. We arrived at 3:10 for our 3:00 reservation. Our waitress was not happy. She informed us that not only were we late, but that she had been trying to get in touch with me for weeks to change my reservation to 2:00. She said she had left me many voicemails. I had NO voicemails or missed calls on my phone. I had responded to text messages to confirm my reservation with a credit card and again to confirm my reservation days before we were in Barcelona. No one left any other messages. In any event, we were told we would not be allowed to have the tasting menu or planned wine pairing. We could choose two menu items for 90 euros instead of the full tasting menu at 140… I almost started to cry. It was my birthday! And the waitress seemed to enjoy our distress :/ We travelled halfway around the world for a meal that we were so excited about… it was one huge disappointment. The view was incredible, and I am sure the tasting menu was as well. But we were charged 90 euros for barely a bite and treated like we were dirt.
Be the first to ReplyWonderful, as always!
We have returned and we will return again and again... It's a spectacle: what a place, what food, what presentation and what attention... You are a great team. Thank you for making our visit a gift. Until next year!

Very good, we were delighted. In fact, I invited my family to go eat there and everyone was delighted with the service, the food and the views. Exit. To make a mistake, when it came to booking through the application I couldn't do it, it was difficult for me, in fact I called by phone for help and in the end I had to book by phone and the person who helped me insisted that I had to do it through the application. Otherwise, wonderful. We will return, without a doubt.
Be the first to ReplyThe view, service, and food were wonderful
The food, the view, and the service were all wonderful. We also really appreciated that they were flexible. One of us is a vegetarian and the other is lactose intolerant. We got one Vegetarian Menu and one Degustacion Menu without lactose. When you make the reservation, they ask about allergies and children so that they can tailor your meal to your needs. Our server was a lovely woman (Olatz) who was friendly and knowledgeable. She did a very nice job describing each dish without being obnoxious or pretentious. She paid attention so that she wasn't rushing us through the courses with a very nice pacing. She was attentive without being intrusive. We did not get the wine pairing but ordered individual glasses of wine which were 7 EUR each, water was 4 EUR and espresso at the end of the meal was 3 EUR. The food was wonderful with great flavors, combination, and creativity.
Be the first to ReplyExcellent day
We went on Sunday the 18th, excellent menu and spectacular service, we had a great time. We will return
Be the first to ReplyYou have to try the lamb
Excellent service and food. Very friendly staff with an obvious love for food and wine. I had the best lamb of my life. Wine pairings were varied and interesting. I especially appreciated the reds. The view was amazing. Would definitely come back.

We are not supercritical People, but Go out quite frequently, also to Star restaurants. Food is good - we had the Tasting menue - but Not at all star quality. Service is lousy and completely disorganized- you have to ask for water, wine and bread because nobody seems to be responsible for your table. Restrooms were Dirty without Paper, Soap or towels. management is not able to handle problems, they disappear when confronted with issues. View is great, cannot be destroyed by bad management … I wont visit again
Be the first to ReplyDoors closed xD what a joke... Michelin what?
So I had a reservation made for 2 months in advance. I have confirmation by email sent by them. I arrive at the place coming from a long trip and find the restaurant is closed. After checking the instagram page it seems hey changed the opening day on the day before my reservation. Mirador has not contacted me ever. Is This really what Michelin looks like? Stars are really cheap these days...
Be the first to ReplyWith managed expectations, I enjoyed my dinner at Mirador del Ulia
Having read many recent reviews, I dined at Mirador del Ulia with ‘managed expectations’. It therefore did not disappoint. The view is spectacular; while not Michelin-star standard, the food was tasty. And while the service was ‘not crisp’, it was friendly.
Be the first to ReplyDon't believe the bad reviews
The food and setting was amazing and service was some of the best we've ever had. Don't believe the bad reviews, we felt so special and the food was amazing. The views were next level. It's walkable back to San sebastian afterwards using steps you come across on the path. Walking up would be a lot! But taxi was about 10 euro. Can't recommend enough, thank you for everything!
Be the first to ReplyExceptional Food
We had an amazing evening. The food was sensational and the view exquisite. The staff are very attentive and friendly. Highly recommend
Be the first to ReplyNot good enough for Michelin
Menü looks nice, but the dishes are not really tasty. Nothing special in the food combinations. Rather boring tastings and a meny of the dishes taste the same. The blue mayo with seaweed just looks strange and do not taste like seaweed. Disappointing. The only good thing, the view at the two beaches of San Sebastián.
Be the first to ReplyGreat restaurant, breathtaking views
We went for lunch which was superb and the views were breathtaking. Friendly and well organized team. Sommelier is friendly and good. Maitre was wonderful, her attention during the lunch was pleasant and caring. Dishes were surprising and well decorated.
Certainly a restaurant which is worth your while.
Not Michelin material
The restaurant is beautifully situated on top of a hill overlooking the beach and the old town of San Salvador. That in itself is worth a visit to this place.
I asked them a question by mail twice, one before and one after our visit, however no response. This rudeness costs them one star in my review.
We had the Menu Clasico: we thought two of the dishes were really good, heavenly, but for the rest we were not impressed, certainly not Michelin material, tastes were flat and the dessert looked sloppy. All we could do during the lesser dishes was enjoy the beautiful view. Minus one star.
We asked for a wine pairing but since I was driving I only wanted half glasses. Later it turned out that my wife also got the tiny portions, glasses of two sips only. (see the picture, together with the delicious duck). Coming home however we saw that on the bill they had charged two maridajes, wine pairings for 2 x €96. I think it is ridiculous to have a menu of €120 paired with these tiny glasses at almost the same price.
How much did they pay to get a michelin star?
How did they get a Michelin star? This was probably worst meal of my life, and paying 250eur for the food we got is an absolute disgrace.
Like some other reviews, we had issue with a booking as our booking was confirmer for 20:00 but restaurant actually opens only at 20:30, so we stood 30 minutes outside in a cold.
The vegan and Hake menu we tried, besides an odd dish which was etable was so disgustiging, it felt chef himself probably hates vegetables and Hake menu the offalls of the fish is so slimey and poorly made that question comes how much did they paid Michelin inspector to get a star this year again?
On the good side, the view is really lovely. But you wouldn’t give michelin star for a view? The place is so bland, with no ambient and staff which is not English speaking, it is really a poor experience especially for that money!
