Great for outdoor lunch in Design District
We have been to Michael’s Genuine a few times, it’s a nice place to grab lunch when you’re in design District. I can recommend warm goat cheese, and falafel mazze for lunch. We love the outside seating. The service was good.

We went shopping, went to galleries, and decided to have a little snack. Nice and cozy restaurant. We'll be back again I recommend
Be the first to ReplyGood and exciting food at reasonable prices
Good service and the food was really nice and the prices were reasonable - definitely worth a visit - located right in the middle of the store's designer district in Miami
Be the first to ReplyOne the best in Miami overall !!!!
We have been regulars for some time now .. and this year we decided to spend New Year's Eve here ... since it's one of the few places that don't do a special menu .... And they had live Jazz til 11 .. and the little band was excellent. And we were so glad we came and for the first time we were able to meet Chef Michael who sat next to us at the bar .. What a gentleman !!!! The service was amazing and the food ... well what can I say ... that's why we continue to come back over and over .... The resident sommelier ... recommended 2 excellent bottles of wine and a bottle of bubbly that was very different yet yummy ... The place for New Years Eve was crowded but not overwhelming .. One of the best places in Miami ... no question about it.
Be the first to ReplyMichaels still has it.
Once again this place was a winner. Have been several times and was concerned it may start to lose its lustre. Nope. The service was great, the bartender super sweet. The menu is a bit difficult to choose from and not extensive, however everyone in our group enjoyed every bite of their dishes, the table was ready on-time and they didn't fret when a couple of members of our group arrived a bit late. They charge 20% for service and share from the back to front of the house apparently, which seems tomato the staff a very agreeable and helpful sort. Would go again, especially now that the Design District is hotter than ever making pre- or post shopping very enjoyable.
Be the first to ReplyOutdoor Seating - Nasty Natural Gas Leak...
Sat outside at last table by kitchen door. Gas leak from kitchen. Complained to server, he apologized and said he had told mgmt. numerous occasions, Manager apologized, said she was new. All 3 of us headaches from gas. Moved after 2 complaints. Five minutes later new guests sat at same table. They complained and left.
Be the first to ReplyFeels like you are in a Brasserie in Paris, definitely recommended
I was told this was an iconic location that was there before the Design District was developed and famous and a must try. Had the lamb and charred eggplant as well as the pork belly. All was delicious as was everything else I saw delivered to the tables. The staff was friendly and very professional. Excellent experience
Be the first to ReplyFairly priced even tho located in Design district
Food was delicious, not overly priced either even tho it is located at the design district. Servers were really nice. Clean bathrooms too.
Be the first to ReplyClassy place
I dined here on Labor Day weekend. The restaurant had excellent food and drink options. It wasn’t too loud, making it easy to have a good conversation. My only criticism is thst it’s a bit pricey.
Be the first to ReplyWorst food in Miami
This is the worst meal that we have eaten in 10 years of vacations in Miami. It was as if someone had opened a pepper shaker and poured it over every single dish that we ate. Also drinks more ice than alcohol. Waste of $150. What a disappointment!
Be the first to ReplyWas amazing now starting to feel a bit tired - Will give it another shot
This was an amazing place. our last we had an average experience in our last visit with the appetizers, salads and pizzas being ok but nothing special. Will give it another go as was one of my favorite spots.
Be the first to ReplyCall it a come back!
Always a pleasure eating at Michael’s. We used to have a branch back home, which has sadly closed. The Wynwood branch brought back ALL the feels. The oysters, the baked feta, the pork belly, all absolutely scrumptious!! Staff were all fabulous, from the hostess to our wait staff and buss-guy. Ray the Sommelier was excellent and consistently made great recommendations. We’re all looking forward to going back for more.

This was our fourth time here. The food was outstanding (best we’ve had here) and our server Amanda made the whole experience just delightful. Love this place. ❤️❤️

Be the first to ReplyBest Pastrami
One the tastiest pastrami sandwich i ever had. I been here in the early days of the restaurant when i came for the first time in Miami and after all this year the quality is still there.
Be the first to ReplyOff to the Arsht afterwards!
We had drinks and did the small-medium plates, multiple options! Two dozen oysters, Duck confit, Mains mushrooms, bucatini pasta (awesome), endive and a special shout out for the kimchi pork belly! If you get only one plate… get the pork belly! Had a really wonderful white wine from Spain too!

Located in the heart of the midtown you don’t want to miss out on this place. Bartender was amazing! We didn’t have a res so we sat at the bar. The tuna the salad and the steak were INCREDIBLE!! Neighbors had truffle pizza and chicken. Smelled and looked good! This is a must eat spot!! Thanks for the consistency
Be the first to ReplyVery good meal
Really good food. Seafood in particular was great. Outdoor seating a little too crowded - only complaint. Service was very attentive
Be the first to ReplyDisingenuous
The irony of this is that this spot is disingenuous despite it purporting to be “ genuine “ and “approachable” The hostess greets you without looking at you. You say hello and she continues her business. You say I'm here for a reservation for four. Before I do though I ask her if anyone has arrived. She looks behind me and says pointing to a group behind me, "oh I thought they were with you." And blurts out rudely that she can't seat me. No apologies. Deal with our policy attitude. She tells me I can get a seat at the bar, (which is full): “ it's a first come first serve basis.” I go inside, because it's raining, but I am standing in the way and uncomfortable. I know my friends are locked in traffic in the rain. I wonder out loud to the hostess if maybe there is somewhere I could sit to wait that's not at the full bar nor standing in the way? She huffs a gesture, steps out behind her podium, rolls her eyes, goes to check, spins back, says: sit at the high top. I sit as ordered and as I do not drink alcohol I am not offered even a glass of water until I request it. It’s tap water. No filter, just like the waitstaff with their delivery we soon were about to find out. At this point I want to leave ... but I am meeting 3 friends from high school who have driven 4.5 hours from Orlando and one from NJ via Ft. Lauderdale. At this point I start to feel that this place is not what it says it is on their website touting a Michelin finesse and being warm and “approachable” and what does that even mean? My NJ friend arrives and we are seated at 6:10 by Sebastian . He returns to the table and offers us drinks but neither of us drink. I order bottled water just to shake the feeling that he is not liking the lack of a bar tab. My two other friends arrive at 6:15 and 6:35 for our reservation at 6pm. Traffic and issues with valet notwithstanding they were not that late. Waiter later comes back so we can order (no description, no specials, no suggestions, no class) and announces non apologetically that we have been at the table for an hour, that at 8pm a large party is coming in. We need to move. We are shocked, speechless and calmly explain that we reserved this table. I've never ever in all my Michelin- star-studded -dining -experiences -worldwide, ever never been asked to move in mid dining. He insists. I ask for the manager. Gina bounces over with a disingenuous smile. No apology or even a compensatory promise… she needs us to move. I get up and ask if I may have a word in private away from my guests, after all I chose this restaurant for our gathering. And she is embarrassing me in front of my guests. I tell Gina we will not move and I have never been so embarrassed to have her even approach us with that request is rude. She needs to figure something else out and not ruin our evening. She is intransigent and offers us a middle of the room table and one near the door. For a moment I feel I need to negotiate with her and then I remember I am the one being mistreated and I simply tell her we will finish our meal and we will leave. I head back to the table but I am truly disgusted by the tackiness and low level of service. Of course this ruins a good 20 minutes more of our conversation. And in the end they actually found another table for this so - called important gathering. No apologies from these people, not even a free water for our troubles. So here is my review. The service is poor. The attitude is disingenuous. The food gave the two of us that ate the greasy chicken a gastric issue, the bucatini was not fresh pasta and its shrimp tasted frozen. It’s overpriced, overrated and over presumptuous. I had not dined here for some years but it was too late before I remembered why. The last time I ate here when I was with our large production crew and the waiters overcharged us for our bottles of wine and added plates we had not ordered. I recall the uncomfortable debate we had to have with them for our bill. Michael’s Disingenuous Food and Drink - indeed. Stay away from the hype.

My favorite restaurant by far! From service to atmosphere… and then the food! Big thank you to our server Ramon the special attention…
Be the first to ReplyDisappointing
Although the outdoor dining space was lovely, the food was extremely disappointing. Very small portions and questionable mixing of flavours. Prices are ridiculously high for what you get. Octopus was awful. Left hungry. We will not be back nor do we recommend this place if you are hungry.
Be the first to ReplyNever on Sunday ( that is their spectacular burger isn’t on the brunch menu!) Michael’s deserved a Michelin ⭐️
Our number 1 favorite restaurant in Miami. Always great and consistent. Frankly it deserved a Michelin ⭐️ Pros Roast chicken, the hamburgers, the sardines, oysters and the very friendly and knowledgeable team. We have never been disappointed with any meals here. And the recently renovated space makes this all the more delightful Cons Hence the headline. Burgers aren’t served at Sunday brunch. That said the breakfast pizza was superb. We’ve been going for years and try and come as often as possible. Lunch is especially good!
Be the first to ReplyNice Outdoor Lunch
We ate here while in the Design District. The food was good and the service was very good. We enjoyed the outside setting, which bumped up the rating.
Be the first to ReplyGotta leave a perfect note! 🤩
Everything from our experience was perfect!!! First while walking in the design district we heard ambiance music and could feel the warm ambiance of the place. We were automatically greeted when we arrived and we’re taking care of right away. We got a terrasse table outside and we’re happy to find ventilators running outdoor as it was a very hot day. The waitress was so nice as well and told us that the owner is actually producing its own vanilla sirop from a tall tree that is in the garden (she showed us the tree). From that point I order a marvellous drink that had this sirop. It was so delicious and unique! We were not that hungry so ended out sharing a meal me and my daughter. We feel in love with the kale pizza. The pizza was well balanced and had a combination of kale purée, caramélisés onions and fresh cheese. We are the pizza with a grilled squash salad! The perfect combination. We definitely wanted to go back before our departure but (with no surprise) it was fully booked. I suggest you book in advance of your trip as this place is pretty busy. We were just lucky to have a place as it was Wednesday noon time :) Enjoy!!!
Be the first to ReplyIt used to be a great restaurant. Not anymore.
I used to love this place. The food and service were superb. We visited the place again, but this time we find out that the place got expanded. But it seems that their success got to them. The food was bland, nothing to talk about and the service was even worse. Just pushy waiters, that complain if you don’t leave at least 22% tip. I really going to miss this place. But im not coming back.
