Memories Of Shanghai Queens Reviews from The Last Year

This place had the best soup dumplings in Queens, dare I say New York. I love soup dumplings and have tried out many different restaurants from Flushing, to Chinatown NYC to Manhattan restaurants to Brooklyn and I still think this place is the best. I'm so sad to see they are closed. Where can I go now?

With your very slow service (or really a completely lack of service!), you guys are meant to lose the game with other strong competitors around like nan Xiang and songs'! I waited for half an hour for a simple take out order of under $20 and will never go back again no matter how good the food was!
Memories of Shanghai The name is a misnomer.
Food offered in this Michelin Bib Gourmand eatery is not just Shanghainese, its menu is filled with delicacies from different regions in China. Among my favorites is this Sichuan street food called "husband and wife", a cold dish of tripe and cartilaginous parts of beef married by the numbing Sichuan spice and select herbs that this place makes so well. A runner up is their soup dumpling that is prepared on order, brought steaming from the kitchen. Apparently, the owner is an alumnus of the famous soup dumpling restaurants in the sprawling Chinatowns of Manhattan and Flushing, who decided to put up his own in Forest Hills, Queens. It's great affordable food without the notorious lines in Chinatown, family-run and barebones setup but clean (A grade from Department of Health). Parking can be tough, but not impossible. I shall return, Memories of Shanghai ! #curious_eater #michelinbibgourmand #soupdumplings #chinatownnyc #foresthillsny

I arrived around 11:45 am today, knowing that its open for business at 11 am. Unfortunately, it was closed. There was a sign about premises open to landlord only. It's website didn't mention it being closed.
Found my new favorite pre-Forest Hills Stadium concert
Found my new favorite pre-Forest Hills Stadium concert spot! My boyfriend and I walked in at 6:45 on a weeknight, and there was no wait. We ordered: + Shanghai steamed pork soup dumpling + Fried rice + Fried eggplant in garlic sauce + Purple yam bun with red bean paste filling My favorite dish was the eggplant, followed by the dessert buns, which were served warm. Service was also good! 4.5 stars.
Got takeout a couple of times during the pandemic.
The food is hit or miss for me. The dim sum is excellent. The best soup dumpling! The hot food is sometimes a miss. Too oily for some dishes. This week I ordered lobster ...Shanghai style. I asked twice if it had a sauce. I was told yes. When I got home I was surprised that there wasn't. The rice cake had zero flavor. The lobster wasn't tasty at all. I wonder if it was fresh because some parts were mushy. I felt like I threw away 35 dollars in the garbage. I will probably stick to the dim sum.
Authentic Chinese food.
Absolutely delicious. We had the pork soup dumpling, the scallion pancakes, and the wontons in chili sauce. Taro puffs as well. The dumplings and wontons were very flavorful. And the scallion pancakes were a perfect combination of crispy and crunchy. Taro puffs were a nice dessert.

Mostly from people who don't need their reservations or appointments any longer. AT has no relationship with places listed and acts as a platform connecting buyers and sellers making sure that listed reservations are real and that privacy is not compromised when transacting.

Can come from a lot of places, people who don't want to get charged their cancellation fee or people who just have them and cant go.

almost all restaurants aren't affiliated with AT and I'm guessing it's mostly people wanting to not pay cancellation fees.
