Maude Beverly Hills Reviews from The Last Year
Jessica should NOT be in hospitality.
Never had anyone speak to me ruder in my life. This restaurant tricked us into booking a $10 tasting menu (it said online we had booked it and it said 10 people received it only) then they call and say "woops actually we gave that $10 menu table to someone else and were still gonna charge you $230 a person if you don't come" WILDLY misleading and crazy lies. This place will absolutely not succeed in la longterm and that's a fact.

Celebrated a birthday here, and this Jessica lady wearing a bright pink suit had the audacity to raise her voice at my wife during one of the last few courses because the bread plate was out of place. Out of all my restaurant experiences varying from basic to three star Michelin restaurants, never has someone raised their voice at us. Someone needs to educate her on customer service. Didn't offer an apology at all. Really ruined the experience. Rest of the staff did a decent job at serving. I would never return to any Curtis Stone restaurant due to this poor experience.
Amazing food, extremely professional service.
We really enjoyed the different cuisines that the chef blended together.
Absolutely loved this intimate dining experience at Maude!
Absolutely loved this intimate dining experience at Maude! Once settling into the seat, they offered two wine pairing options, and one NA wine pairing. They also do wine, beer, NA beverages by the glass too. My husband chose the classic wine pairing, and I went with the NA ones from NON.world made in Australia (I was really glad I did NA wine pairing. I didn't know about this brand before but highly recommend after I tried several different flavors. Very tasty and great wine alternative options) Then we started this nine-course meal journey. From the snacks to main courses to desserts, we were amazed by the creative concept, fresh local produce, different layers of textures/flavors, and hidden surprises. They paired with the drinks very well! After we finished all the savory dishes, we were guided to a separate space - their wine loft where they have over 3,000 vintage bottles of wine. There were a few different dishes for the dessert course. Each of them was very creative and beautifully plated. It was a lovely surprise and perfect note to end our meal on.
Slow. I’ll pass
Came here for my bday dinner. Some of the food was amazing. Some soso. The pace they set is slow. I told them I was tired and would like the check. They said to have dessert I needed to go upstairs. Great bday dessert ZERO.

We came here to celebrate my husband's birthday and loved everything about Maude, from the service to the ambiance. Every dish was amazing and my only "complaint" is that I was beyond full by the end! For dessert they take you upstairs to a more lounge like wine room. It's pricey, but worth the splurge for a celebration or romantic dinner!

Solid place, loved the intimate 24-people seating: small and intimate. Food was adventurous and beautiful. Service was quite attentive but had a few misses: notified them in advance that I minimize gluten but no effort was put it to customize any of the menu or note the heavy gluten items. Eg the full bread (as one appetizer) was shared with us and for the 1star Michelin, I would have expected them to serve me something else that's not full gluten (eg give me carrot sticks, just as a touch!). It was also our friend's birthday and I asked them ahead of time to put a candle in our dessert but they never did! I one pairing was only sub par- I would not recommend it for the price you pay and instead suggest to pick by the glass (3 out of the pairing were really not great). Am I happy I came? Absolutely! Would I recommend : go back- no.
One of my favorite Michelin starred restaurants to date.
The service was outstanding, the food was delicious, and I really like how their desserts are served upstairs in their wine room. A totally awesome experience!
A Michelin Flat Tire
After 40 years of traveling all over the world and dining in everything from Michelin to mom-and-pop restaurants, this is my first review. I connected in LA to dine at Maude while traveling for vacation. What a mistake. The restaurant is small and very nicely decorated. If Japan is still working on robots for restaurant servers, they should call this restaurant. Maude has already perfected robotic service. We were met at the door by a somewhat intimidating person who appeared to be the head server. No welcome or engagement; all business. Sit here. We dutifully did. With all the personality of an unplugged refrigerator, we were on the edge of our chair after each course, hoping that she would not serve the next dish. Better one of the robot servers who mechanically called out the ingredients of the dish. She served about half of the dishes, mumbling words, but we dare not to ask for clarification. The food is beautify presented, with tweezer applied flower petals on each dish. Unfortunately, every dish was tasteless and bland. This leads me to believe that Curtis has hired his Gardner to moonlight as his chef. He should stick to gardening. Hope fades after about the third dish that there is any hope for the evening. Still working to forget the entire experience, I won’t share each course as others do. But to provide some context, one dish was a Chile “soup” that was poured table side from a tiny bottle. I think that’s the Michelin part of the experience. The tiny bottle. In any case, the soup tasted like McCormick’s red Chile powder cooked in boiling water. The other dishes weren’t any better. The only highlight was the bread and butter. It has some green specs baked in which Broom Hilda mumbled, but again, we didn’t dare ask. When we thought the evening was finally over, we were brought upstairs to a wine cellar for dessert. Again, very nicely decorated with 100’s of bottles of wine and about every spirit you can imagine. This is a good strategy; try to forget you just wasted a ton of money for the worse meal of your life with alcohol. Maybe they’ll come back? One area that Michelin restaurants excel is desert. Always creative, beautifully presented and delicious. Not here. The first dish was some mandarin thing with nuts or seeds. The second was a sugar globe with dehydrated fruit. It looked like a dog’s breakfast, and someone must have put the cake in the dehydration machine along with the fruit because it was like eating sawdust. Mercifully the bill finally came to the table. While I always tip 20%, I was going to reduce the tip to 15%. But that isn’t possible as the service charge is already added at 18%. Another smart ploy, as some of the staff would go hungry. There is a tip line, which is quite presumptuous of them but after all that alcohol, why not give it a shot? I was going to actually add in a negative 3% and net out to a lower number, but recognized that would only extend the suffering. I just wanted out. I paid and left. When you leave, they provide you a copy of the menu. They should really do that upfront so you can follow along, given all the mumbling. But on second thought, I wish they hadn’t. Reading the menu the next day is like waking up in Vegas the next morning with a tattoo and asking what did I just do? I’m sure LA has a number of good restaurants. This isn’t one of them. Next time I want to dine at a Michelin restaurant to celebrate, it’s back to New York…where Maude wouldn’t last the proverbial “NY minute”.
Impeccable anniversary dinner vibes.
I enjoyed the gorgeous interior as well as the surprise location change midway through the meal. (Just trust me; it's uncommon but it was so surprising & moody!) Service was almost French brigade. The food was equally incredible. Loved.
Dined here in summer 2022.
The restaurant is nice inside and service was good. The abalone and pasta dishes were excellent. Unfortunately, everything else was just ok or really bland. For dessert you go to another room, and again everything tasted blah.

9/23/2023 Sat 1* Michelin If this was not meant to be I don't know what is. I meant to book Maude for my LA trip but I slacked and by the time I remembered it was fully booked on the day that I wanted to go so I put us on waitlist. I didn't have high hope that there will be any availability but a slot opened up for the perfect time at 5:30pm. so I immediately grabbed it. We were the first party to arrive and Jean-francois greeted us and took us to our table. I double checked with JF if the counter is available but he confirmed it wasn't. Bummer as I always liked to observe each line cook meticulously prepare each dish. As soon as we sat down and ordered our drinks, the servers placed the amuse bouche in front of us. I believe it's a cut of watermelon with sprinkles of chili powder. It's a light and refreshing bite to start the meal. 0) Amuse Bouche - watermelon bite 1a) Snack - Raspberry Wasabi cracker 1b) Snack - Trout Pai Tee, a roe tart with hamachi filling 1c) Snack - Eggplant Bao, eggplant stuffed fried ball 2) Squash and Caviar (Burpee and black beauty squash, grilled little gem lettuce top with caviar, green mole) - super fresh vegetables and I like the smokiness of the caviar, perhaps it's the green mole sauce. 3) Santa Barbara Spot Prawn (Lacto-Green strawberry, sun gold tomato, aguachile rojo) - least of my favorite course, broth too sour and spicy for me. Bummer I left behind most of the broth. The prawn shaped cracker was good though, tasted all the essence of the prawn, almost like a concentrated prawn bisque but in a cracker form. Wish the broth is a prawn bisque instead of the sour and spicy broth. 4) Abalone & Rice (sliced abalone on crispy rice and oyster infused dashi broth) - Flavor was well done especially the broth which was an umami bomb. The abalone IMO sliced too thin so can't tasted much of it. The crispy rice cake was my favorite part of the dish as it soaked up the broth reminded me of the Japanese chazuke dish. 5) Mendoza Family Farm Corn (bicolored corn, egg yolk, poblano) - reading on Yelp, seems like this dish replaced the pasta dish. This was one of my favorites, creamy and tasty. 6a) House Made Bread and Butter - different kind of bread roll this time. Almost like a Hawaiian sweet roll taste. The cultured butter was just as delicious and how I remembered from last time. 6b) Black Cod (leeks, peas, miso beurre blanc) - like last time, the waitress told us to save a piece of bread for the cod. This time the black cod came almost immediately after they served the bread and butter. The waitress told me they timed it that way so the bread wasn't consumed all before the next dish arrives. Loved the black cod. Seems they sous v'd the fish so it's super tender. Love they wrapped the fish with seaweed. Once again I soaked up all the goodness on the plate, the miso white butter sauce was delectable. 7) Wolf Ranch Quail (Maui Onion, Soubise, Achiote Sauce) - super tender and flavorful quail, another favorite of mine 8) Point Reyes Blue Cheese (buñuelo, macadamia nuts, honey) - this is the same kind of Chinese cookie I was just researching for the mould to make at home! Chef Osiel added a twist to the mexican cookie with blue cheese stuffed to the underside of the cookie. So good I can eat a dozen of it! 9a) Dessert - K&K Ranch Red Flame Grapes (hibiscus ice, chocolate mint, fennel pollen) sorbet almost like a palette cleanser 9b) Dessert - Coleman Family Farms Thai Basil (Thai basil ice cream, peaches, ginger sabayon, brown butter crumble) 9c) Dessert - McGrath Family Farm Strawberries (Gaviota strawberries, poached rhubarb, vanilla cream, native bay leaf) 10) Mignardises - macarons, chocolate bon bon, cream puffs, sugar coated goose berries Another great meal at Maude, superior wait service, esp. Jean-Francois who made us feel welcomed. After dessert we went back to the main dining room to pick up our coat only to realize it was left upstairs. Jean-Francois told us to stay put downstairs and he ran back upstairs to get our jacket, showing the level of service equivalent to a 3 star michelin. Although I preferred the menu from last year, other than the spot prawn course did t catered to my taste this year, all the dishes we tried this time were still on point and delightful. I'd like to try another round of new dishes if I go back to LA again!
Maude’s a long way to travel from Australia but so worth it
Visit Maude‘s for my birthday dinner, and from entering the restaurant everything was exquisite. The wait staff were Sublime. Their attention to detail and care for you as a customer was genuine and they showed excitement with every dish they brought you. We enjoyed local, paired wines from the California region and the wine maître de matched these perfectly. The food continuously comes out, however, it’s only small portions, but I think we counted 19 different items to try so you will leave very full . I have been wanting to come to this restaurant for a very long time, and it was on my bucket list for things to do, and so glad we made the journey
A wonderful food experience at Maude!
Excellent in every way. Service, decor, food, wine service. All carefully and kindly executed. A memorable meal for sure!
Excellent birthday dinner
We have been wanting to dine here for a long time, so finally been able to dine here (we live in Australia), was a dream come true. The wine pairing was superb. In keeping with other fine dining experiences, I would suggest providing diners with the menu at the beginning of the service, than at the end of the meal. Its always nice to follow the courses and what you are having. Definitely worth the experience. The staff and service were top notch.

Thank you for the question, if a seller is working on answering your bid, you cannot cancel it until their time is up and the bid is released back to you. The full amount of funds then go back into your AT account. Typically a seller has 48-72 hours to complete the bid.
