We would go back aagin!
We ordered 3 dishes: Vegetables in curry, Steamed Kai Lan (leafy greens), and Hainese chicken. Both vegetable dishes were excellent and we would order those again. The Hainese rice was tasty but the chicken was full of bones. It came with 4 small pieces of chicken, one of which was a neck bone. It was not worth the price. Service was excellent.

Our family is vegan and gluten free and very focused on nutrition. The vegetables and ingredients in these dishes are a huge hit with my fussy family. We are lucky to have found this go to take out!!!

Went on a Friday night at 7 for dinner. The restaurant had about 4 other small tables, so we had no issue being seated immediately. We asked our server for a couple of recommendations. He asked where we were from (turns out he was trying to find dishes we could identify with). That method backfired. He recommended the Popiah Rolls and Baby Oyster Omelet - we didn't like either. We ordered several mains both to eat individually and share. The Curry Laksa Soup (with thick noodles) was fairly good. Beef Chow Fun was ok - Chinese version is much better. The Nasi Lemak was surprisingly not authentic. The chicken should be fried first then tossed in the sauce. The rice also didn't have coconut milk in it (menu says it does, and if so, it needs way more). The Black Pepper Beef wasn't bad. We also tried the Fried Squid in Spicy Salt - which oddly lacked flavor. The Kai Lan in Garlic Oyster Sauce was probably the best tasting item we ordered. I personally ordered the Spicy Shrimp Noodle Soup (with thin noodles). The soup was really overly unnecessarily sweet - it was hard to finish it. Overall, service was a 4-star but food was only a 3 at best.

It nothing overwhelms you when dining there, the hospitality of the owner and staff definitely will. We do not see very many Malaysian restaurants in northern Virginia, hence it is a delightful experience to enjoy Malaysian cuisine sitting in a quiet shopping mall of Centreville. I ordered chicken curry, which was exactly like Indian curry with a hint of coconut. It was served quickly. The special coffee they got tasted sweet. I would like to explore other items in future, including fish and lamb, most of them has rave reviews online. Last but not the least, they serve halal meat.

I grew up in Malaysia and still crave the food. Seen many fake places - but this is the real deal. The CKT ( Char Kueh Teoh) was divine and so was the Mamak Mee. Laksa was delicious. And the Roti Chanai was very nice and flaky. Satay was a little disappointing- but otherwise we were were very satisfied. Will be coming back for sure
Be the first to ReplyFound a good Malaysian Restaurant here in the Centreville/Chantilly VA area!
So this was our first time visiting this restaurant. We decided to come here after reading all the good reviews on Yelp. And because it's a very convenient location from our house. The service was great, very friendly and helpful! So now for the food. For the appetizer, I HIGHLY recommend the Roti Canis. Trust me, this was a great dish! It comes with a lightly pan fried Roti bread and a small bowl of chicken curry that you use to dip the Roti bread into! Simply mouth watering! We also ordered the Malaysian Chicken Curry(# E2), Chicken Satay and Nasi Lemak (#R2), and they were all quite tasty! This is a restaurant we will definitely be coming back to very soon to try more items off the menu. But for me, the Roti Canis was by far my favorite dish!

I've been on the hunt for a good Malaysian restaurant for a while. Then this place popped up in my neighborhood, and my search ended! The owners of Malasian Kopitiam had a very highly rated restaurant in DC, and have now brought their amazing dishes to Centreville. First time? Try the curry laksa - it's a great standard and will give you a nice standard to go with. Then try everything else - it's all great. My family does frequent takeout, which almost always includes at least 2-3 orders of Kopitiam Shrimp. Loooove the sauce with this, and I find myself dipping anything I can into it. My newest love is FN4, the Watt Tan Hor Fun.
