i ordered this restaurant through uber eats, they had a bogo special deal going on. i was skeptical to order under special promo and offers because of possibility that restaurants won't go as hard as making something with love. unfortunately my assumption became true when i received my order. The uber Eats service guy delivered it with care however i was disappointed in the taste. i posted picture to show that i ordered "Cheesy" bread in fact it was an ultra thin cheese nothing cheesy about it. the taste wasnt there, it was unfortunately tasteless. i didn't taste garlic or any spices but thats okay - but come on!!! a thin slice of cheese? yikes. lol

Pizza at 1st Avenue location was delicious but never got around to trying this location...marshalls repo'd 1st Ave...now they shut down Ave B before we could try it!
Be the first to ReplyCozy atmosphere in the evening and airy in the daytime.
Ordered a mushroom square and plain cheese slice. Pizza dough was very fresh/soft and crispy on the bottom. The pizza sauce was very good. Good place for a quick bite. The ladies that worked there were friendly.

Be the first to ReplyThe pizza at their old location was spectacular.
Don't know what happened if the staff changed with the new location, but the pizza is now a disappointment.
Be the first to ReplyAbsolutely delicious food.
We ordered via grubhub and the food came piping hot and service was fantastic- awesome delivery driver. We got Italian Alfredo, cheese sticks, and a variety of slices. You must try the vodka pizza slice it's absolutely to die for. Can't wait to visit nyc again and have some more dishes from here.
Be the first to ReplyI ordered a pie with extra sauce and parmesan cheese.
It was dry. I only tasted the "bread". The only cheese that was on the pizza was the parmesan, and very little of it. Very stingy with the ingredients, considering that the cost was over $36.00.

I think this place must have changed owners or moved in the last few years or something like that-- they don't sell a lot of what's in the reviewers' photos any more-- no pasta, no wine, no gnocchi, now it's more of a regular by the slice kind of place. The slices are ok but I was still disappointed since I was hoping to have more of a restaurant experience with some gnocchi and wine.
Be the first to ReplyStopped in here on a Monday night for a few slices to go.
Really impressed with the quality of their pizza. It's hard to find a slice spot that sells napoletana style pizza and this place delivers. Mozzerela was so fresh, sauce was a beautiful mix of savory and sweet, and the pieces were perfectly foldable. Diavola square slice was also really tasty even tho it wasn't the traditional napoletana style. Nice little area where you can sit and enjoy your slices too.

Walked by this place real quick as I was about to grab an empanada for lunch. I smelt the fresh slices from outside and turned around to take a peak! I walked inside to see FRESH SLICES galore!!!! I didn't know where to start first, but I quickly grabbed a Buffalo mozz slice that was massive and did not disappoint. It was about $5 or so but certainly a great treat to have for lunch! Service wasn't as friendly as I expected to be, but the food certainly was fantastic!!! Next time I'll take a pic before inhaling it
Be the first to ReplyThis spot was very good.
My partner and I were quite hungry and only were able to find bars in the neighborhood. We went here for a quick bite and boy were we pleasantly surprised. The pizza was excellent. I ordered a small pie with prosciutto and arugula. Absolutely fantastic. The restaurant was a very cozy hole in the wall. Lots of old classics were playing as well. it was dark so it felt very intimate. There is also a brick oven in the kitchen. Our seats were situated so that by back was to the oven. On a cold day the heat felt amazing. The service was fantastic as well.

I ordered the Philly cheesesteak and it's basically all bread. Definitely not worth the money
Be the first to ReplyI don't think I have had a more dreadful pizza in my life.
This is how we received the pizza through Uber Eats today. Undercooked, tasteless, a complete mess. Totally disgusting. I gave it one star for at least the effort. Never again.
Be the first to ReplyWas looking to get a quick slice.
The second I walked in- before I even looked at the menu and pizza- the counter lady says "what would you like?" ...... I picked the sausage slice. She picked it up with a spatula, dropped a few toppings.... Scooped it up with her hand and threw it back on.... Then proceeded to balance the slice of pizza on the spatula, all the way to the oven. It was in the oven for about 20 seconds and given to me. I paid $5.50 for warm sausage pizza which toppings were plopped on top with bare hands.....Yummy but yucky.

The pizza is great and makes a good take out pizza (which is not true of all other pizza places). It's also very fast which I appreciate. The service is not always stellar but it usually gets the job done

I don't know which publicists they're paying for reviews but they are completely incompetent and lack morale. I walked in at night, pizza was out so I asked about it, the lady behind the counter gave me a nasty glare and told me that they only had SCRAPS available for me and proceeded to lift open a random pizza box filled with scraps behind the counter. I asked why I couldn't just have a pizza made like the gentleman ahead of me or a slice that was not scraps, heated up, she told me it couldn't be done and crossed her arms. I'm a 27 year old black queer fem who has been living in the East Village with my family whom have been here for 4 generations. I'm appalled, I've never seen such rudeness in ANY neighborhood restaurant/establishment. She served the white gentleman ahead of me a full pizza, no problem. Do I believe this was racially motivated and micro-aggressive? Definitely. Will I ever walk in there again or tell any of my friends about the place, no I will not. It will probably last as long as waffles and dinges did if they get so lucky with that rent their paying, then luzzos will turn into yet another establishment. :)
Be the first to ReplyLuzzos moved to Avenue B, recently.
new space is airy, lots of light, and catches a great breeze when the are windows open on cool sunny days. modern casual pizza restaurant vibes with warm friendly aesthetic. i believe they do table service--not sure as i always grabbed takeout. open from lunch to dinner daily. the pizza served here is Neapolitan. pizza is sold by the slice, 12" pie and 16" pie. i like the simplicity of ingredients of a Margherita pizza --cheese, sauce, crust and fresh basil leaves. the quality of Luzzo's Margherita speaks for itself in a slice. quality ingredients come together for a tasty slice of thin crust with some chew, the balance of a fresh tomato sauce, smooth blobs of mozzarella, and the aroma of basil on top. last time, I walked out with a slice and it was just the right amount of snack that i wanted in carbs, $3 + tax + tip staff is pretty informal and it seems like it is very much family run. drops mic cuz pizza is lifei outzzz
Be the first to ReplyGreat pizza, great service.
The place is super nice, open doors, you can get slice or a hole pizza.

Randomly went to this restaurant before we celebrate my friend's birthday. The owner was the one who served us. He gave us 2 free glasses champagne. Great service and great food
Be the first to ReplyREALLY delicious pizza- I would rate an 8.
5/10!!! We ordered the burrata and prosciutto appetizer and the aglietta pizza (cheese, sauce, roasted garlic). The burrata and prosciutto were fresh, but didn't wow me (cheese was a little too firm). The pizza on the other hand may be some of, if not THE, best pizza I've had in NY. The crust was both fluffy and light, and extremely soft and chewy on the inside, the ratio of cheese and sauce was perfect, and the roasted garlic was not overpowering; instead was a great addition to each bite.I loved how the inside of the restaurant was decorated, and it was cool to sit in front of the wood fire oven and watch all the pizzas being made. Highly recommend trying this pizza spot!!!

We went to Luzzos after seeing it ranked SECOND(!!!) on varasanos.com/PizzaRecip…. I mean, c'mon, that's a must-try.I have to say, I was a little disappointed. The sauce was on the fresh side, not as sweet. Which isn't a bad thing, just sayin'. The dough could have been a little more crispy on the outside and airy on the inside. And some more flavor to the dough. The basil was solid. Overall it just wasn't as flavorful as I'd hope or good enough to justify being so insanely high on the Varasanos ranking. But it was still very very good. I'm nitpicking here. It was very fresh and very good pizza. Well worth the $18 or whatever it costs, and pretty high on the list of best pizza I've ever had.It was interesting that there was no one at the restaurant. Completely empty when we got there. I found that to be pleasant though. Compare that to a place like Johns where you have to wait, it is packed and crowded and noisy. I prefer the peacefulness.

This was our first pizza on our NYC trip and it was exactly what we were looking for. We tried a couple different pies - one tomato-based sauce and one white sauce. The toppings were all fresh and bursting with flavor and the crust was perfectly cooked. Loved the eclectic decor. Like every place we visited this trip, they are short-staffed but the staff there were really working hard to make sure every table was satisfied. All around great experience.
