lulu Paris Reviews from The Last Year
Ruined Birthday
I booked this restaurant specifically for my birthday while still in Moscow. We were an hour late, there are incredible traffic jams in Paris, and we ourselves were about 30 minutes late, plus we were stuck in traffic jams because of the Olympics. We approached the hostess, explained the situation, it was my birthday, I was wearing heels, there was nowhere to go, we were asked to come at 10 pm, we were there at 8, they told us to go for a walk... This is the attitude of a high-level restaurant towards the client. I no longer want to even come close to them, thanks for ruining my birthday!
must go!!!!
EVERYONE NEEDS TO GO HERE (for lunch). The restaurant is beautifully decorated and the menu was absolutely so delicious. I highly recommend the tuna carpaccio and the green pizza (I forget what it's called). It was all excellent. The dessert was great too. The restaurant has beautiful windows overlooking a gorgeous lawn. 100% recommend!!!!
This restaurant is absolutely adorable inside and out.
I was hoping to sit outside but they seated us inside which was also fine but on a sunny day sit outside! we got the vodka pasta, the pesto pasta and the cucumber feta olive salad and all was SO good. It's well worth making a reservation for I'm still thinking about days later.
Absolutely terrible
The worst attitude service I've ever experienced. Rude manager and waiters. Never going there again. Used to be the hottest spot in Paris. Definitely not any longer
Fashionable place. Full stop
Very “fashionable” place, people go to see and to be seen. Place is beautiful, but nothing outstanding. The food? I don’t think people that go there is worried with it, but anyway, it’s less than average, very pricey, not worth at all in my humble opinion. They charge a lot for being inside the Louvre, but when you get there, you don’t even feel it, the decoration is modern and it has nothing to do with the Louvre style. The staff is great, very nice, helpful, and they speak English. My wife loved the Truffled Pizza, I ordered a cod fish, as I said, less than average. If you want real food, go to Le Procope, La Rotonde, even Le Ciel de Paris ( great food, wonderful view), Le Train Bleu (very pricey, the food is good, not outstanding, but at least, the restaurant is extremely beautiful, with old paintings, staff is great, amazing).
Very good restaurant
A very good restaurant. The interior is luxurious and spacious with large tables and comfortable chairs. The menu is extensive and of a fairly good culinary standard. As a starter we recommend the bresaola and the Parma ham. For the main course there are very good pastas.
Lovely place, Little pricy
Great location, with lovely food. The aesthetic is unmatched. The portion size are on the smaller size and was a bit pricy but overall a lovely restaurant!
"Had an amazing lunch today, but was a bit disappointed
"Had an amazing lunch today, but was a bit disappointed that we weren't seated outside like we thought we would be. They said the outside doesn't open until June. It doesn't state that on the website, so it's a bit misleading. Overall though the inside was really nice, service was amazing and food was delicious. It's a must go to if you're visiting Paris."
Horrible reservation service
I reserved a table two weeks in advance for our 10th wedding anniversary, the restaurant canceled my reservation 2 hours before my reservation. And no one picks up the phone when I call them…no, no, no!
Pleasant moment
Everything is there to have a pleasant time Welcome, service at the bar with a professional discussion regarding our liquid desires, we love it Phenomenal view of the Eiffel Tower Desirous table
Will not recommend again.
I experienced LouLou's for the first time in 2020 (right before the COVID pandemic. When I attended during that time, the service was attentive and the food was amazing. During my birthday trip to London this year, I decided to make a special trip to Paris with the intent of taking my friend to LouLou's to have the same experience. Unfortunately, it was not comparable. After checking in with the front desk, we were walked to our table. The host proceeded to take our coats while we were sitting at our table and provided a ticket for our coats. The food and drinks were amazing. I intentionally ordered the truffles I had in 2020. I noticed that other surrounding patrons received the option to have grated Parmesan with their pasta (as we were offered in 2020). We were not offered that option. When I questioned this, I was told that Parmesan and black truffles won't taste good together. I decided to not press my concern. At the end of the night, we decided to settle our bill due to the restaurant closing. My friend alerted the waiter that it was my birthday (this was also noted in the reservation made online). Our waiter acknowledged this and brought out 2 wrapped pieces of chocolate candy with a candle pressed through. This was highly disappointing. I asked to speak with the manager and alerted her of my concern based on the two other birthday celebrations in my vicinity and the beautiful desserts brought to them. I was told (very loudly and brashly) that the other 2 birthday guests paid for their desserts. I understand if this is this restaurant's policy (regardless of the countless amounts of complimentary birthday desserts that were provided to me on this trip) but, the way that the manager spoke to me was COMPLETELY disrespectful, condescending and off putting. After stating the companies supposed policy loudly and aggressively, I asked if my coat could be provided to me. She told me that she did not handle that and that her colleague took care of that and proceeded to walk away. We waited for over 10 mins for someone to provide us our coats (or take our coat ticket). No one came or checked on us. We decided to get up and get our own coats. We were asked about our experience. I said that it wasn't the best. I was asked why. I told them it was affected by a manager that was a tall woman with brown and black glasses and black hair. I was asked repeatedly to describe her. I asked if I could get her name because I wanted to send a formal complaint based on how we were treated. The crew spoke French in front of us for several minutes and declined to give us her name. This experience was very unfortunate. Since 2020, I have recommended several Executives from both Fortune 500 companies I've worked for to visit LouLou's based on our experience (at that time). I also wanted to support the company because I was aware of their closure post the pandemic and I wanted to support their business. I will NEVER recommend this restaurant to anyone ever again. The way that we were treated and dismissed was disgusting and demeaning. It is my hope that the company will provide some additional training to their upper level management in regard to communication and hospitality.
A smile is the only free thing in life…smile!
The food is tasty and well presented. Unfortunately, the girls at reception are haughty and it seems like they hate their jobs. A smile won't hurt them...
Great service
Great place for a dinner for two. A good wine list, with a regular value for money. I would definitely go back to Loulou
Fun Outside Eating in the Tuileries Gardens
Excellent food, a bit pricey. Many visits to this restaurant, first time eating inside. Outside venue adds much to the ambiance and fun of eating here with the setting near the entrance to the Louvre. Always go back for the Pesto, best I've ever eaten. Would recommend for eating outside on a Sunny day taking in all the activity in the Tuileries Gardens!
Brilliant staff and cocktails!
I contacted LouLous in January because I didn’t want to miss visiting whilst we were in Paris. The staff were brilliant and accommodating for 11 of us. The cocktails were some of the best we have had (Pistachio was a winner!). We only wanted a few sharers/snacks and although there was some confusion, the manager and staff accommodated last minute which I really appreciated. Highly recommend, very professional and great for special occasions.
well located. pleasant terrace when the weather is nice, which it was, but scandalous price of a glass of wine: €29!!!
good lunch, but surprise at the bill (glass of Sancerre, correct, no more at 29€)!!!! ask for the card to be presented to you before ordering!
Tremendous
This is a restaurant worth seeing. The service is perfect. The dishes are excellent the only little thing that is annoying is that it is very very hard to reserve and if you do not reserve it is not possible. If you can go there, be careful to plan a small budget anyway.
OK
The restaurant is beautiful. The staff seemed harried but the service was ok My husband had the loup (sea bass) and it was excellent. I had the octopus risotto and the octopus was so tough I had to ask for a steak knife and still could not cut or eat the two pieces on top the “risotto”, which I’m not sure it was risotto it was so dried out. It was like the rice you get at the bottom of a good paella dish, a little crunchy. It was like it had been left u see a warmer for 30 minutes. Anyway, I thought this was the way octopus was supposed to taste - and my husband said maybe it was supposed to be more of a paella then risotto (list in translation) until I had a wonderful octopus dish at a nearby bistro (Volney) later and it was tender and wonderful. Price to value was high for the quality of my meal. My husband’s meal was great.
Delicious dinner with the best vibe
The food was delicious and vibe was so good!!! Loved our dinner here. Definitely recommend the Vodka Pasta and Saint-Germain Spritz!
Just 'okay'.
We booked LouLou for a birthday celebration for my sister and we're disappointed. When we arrived the front-of-house staff were rude and looked as though we were inconveniencing them, one member of the team in particular. A second host, much friendlier than the team member that met us at the door, the first showed us to our table, upstairs with a great view of the Eiffel Tower. The waiters were very helpful, welcoming and knowledgeable about allergens making me feel comfortable about the gluten-free and celiac-friendly options. I was pleased to know that the salads, lots of the starters and that all of the pasta dishes could be made with GF pasta. Service was really slow and the restaurant wasn't full so I was surprised. The food was, ok. Starters were nice but nothing special and I've had much better Italian food elsewhere. For the price, I had expected this to be great but the pasta was CRUNCHY and hard (not Al Dente, just not cooked) and we had to send it back. When we left I received a second notification on my banking app, I had been charged my full deposit as well as our bill. Luckily I was just outside and turned back to ask the team about this, the same host was at the front, looked us up and down, and said 'whoops mistake' with no apology. I was told that this would be refunded and that i'd receive an email to confirm this and I am still waiting for this.
We had a great experience here.
The restaurant is nice and cozy. The Truffle Pizza was Fantastic. Best white sauce pizza I've ever had. But it comes at the steep price of €50! But honestly.. when in... Paris.. I suppose it's not the time to pinch Pennies. The wine we had was great. The service was great and we had a beautiful view of the Eiffel Tower. Oh! The Pesto Pasta was fantastic. And the Pasta with Vodka was Sauce was nice and spicy. Definitely recommend coming here!!
Please don't fall for this trap! This restaurant is only
Please don't fall for this trap! This restaurant is only nice in the sense of convenience to the Lourve. I can see the potential in the cute location and graphics, but they know exactly what they are doing in terms of manipulation. My boyfriend and I made a reservation over a week ago to come after our Lourve visit. We were seated by the hot window literally squished next to two other ladies. We didn't want to gorge, so we told our waiter that we would like to order a pizza to the share (the truffle pizza, which already is a pricier food option). He stopped us right there and said every guest has to order an entree. We tacked on a pesto pasta on top of our specialty cocktails. We truly knew it would be impossible to finish two whole dishes, so we asked for a takeaway--which we understand isn't ideal in Europe because they don't like when there's an abundance of your meal left. But what else are you going to do when you have 2 huge entrees that you're paying for and sharing on top of drinks and even dessert? When we asked for the check and a takeaway box, our waiter took away our food THEN brought back our pizza without the pasta. When he came back, he asked if it were okay that he threw away our pasta. First of all, LOL. Second of all, I asked him why was that necessary when he did not mention that when he left with our plates AND forced us to order another plate. He tried to tell me "oh, it's fresh pasta, and it doesn't stay good over time, etc." --then why serve something that can't last an extra hour...not to forget, he only came by 3-4 times total. Trés mal. Pas bien. Il est épouvantable. He, then, insisted that we add tip because "gratuity isn't included". Beware if Ludovic is serving you near the window. He doesn't mean well.
Ok I'm giving it a 4 but it could be a 3.
Wife read about this spot and off we went. Weird entrance through the museum but there's another nicer way in. Free fall all when the doors open and we were second in line so I thought this was going to be easy. 5 or 6 table were seated before us because the other entrance is closer to the hostess desk. Get our table and waited........ for the waiter. He took our drinks and then took an order from the table next to us who sat a few minutes after us. They ate and left 30 minutes before we did. Dinner was over 2 hours. I'm assuming it's from the kitchen getting slammed by the instant opening. I ordered some mezcal special cocktail and my wife ordered a special margarita Both were delicious. Mine was excellent. We ordered the sea bass carpaccio and while we were waiting the waiter offered us the Vitello Tonnato that was a wrong order. Was absolutely delicious. Highly recommend. (Plus 1 for the waiter.)The sea bass came 20 minutes later (minus 1) and was good not as good as the veal. Mains were Fettuccini Alfredo with Truffles. Delicious. Wife had the Veal Piccata came with creamy mashed potatoes. Both delicious and recommend. So the problem was we waited 30 minutes to get the check ( minus 1) Floor manager was a little aggressive clearing our table and should smile a little. So the food was great and the atmosphere was nice, staff was meh. Oh and the crowd was all over the place , people in sweats and some decked out and some good people watching.
While visiting our daughter in Paris, who has lived there 6
While visiting our daughter in Paris, who has lived there 6 years. We were treated so poorly, she booked out a week in advance. We arrived and were seated to the left of the entrance. In the sun. We asked to be seated on the right. We were told two different things. Our regular customers are seated on the right, which does have the better view and then, oh you didn't book soon enough. Basically, if you don't have copious amounts of botox, or you aren't wearing high end clothing you won't be seated to the right. We left, we have never been treated so poorly in france. I guess we all need that one rude france experience. Went off and had the best lunch somewhere else at Racines. Don't bother with this place.
Food was very good.
Waiter was a douche. The food came out rapid fire causing three courses to go cold, he ran up the bill by giving us a market price piece of fish that could have served a family of 6 for a table of 2. He was inattentive and arrogant. There are better places to go where you will not be treated like you are a tourist and made to feel like one.

Food was amazing, service was incredible and view & ambiance were top notch! We had the zucchini flower, pistachio pasta, risotto and a delicious puff pastry desert. Everything was fantastic!
Very delicious food and such a nice atmosphere.
Staff was pleasant considering my party and I are American. The bathrooms were very clean and the attendant was very kind. Would most definitely come back again.

We had an amazing dinner with a stunning view! Our green bean salad, ceviche and the whole fish were divine. The service was impeccable!
