Lucky Cat by Gordon Ramsay London Reviews from The Last Year
Kitchen Table Experience excels in disappointment
We booked the Kitchen Table Experience for my wife's 60th birthday. The food was bang average, the service surly, the wine waiter rude and unacquainted with the wine list and there was absolutely no effort made to make this a special. Please do not waste what will be a considerable amount of money.
Everything is lucky in the cat
I had excellent experience here. Chef Ken is my favourite chef. The rest of the staff were amazing too. Excellent food (prepared by chef Ken). I love the cocktail. Excellent service and ambience. Highly recommend.
Differing opinions
We had been at this restaurant 4 years ago and though some of our party of 4 enjoyed their sushi, fried rice, glass noodles, and miso salmon, others who had been here before thought the quality was not as good as at previous visit. I really thought that most of the sushi and glass noodles were not flavorable and disappointing but others in my party disagreed with my assessment.
Poor
Horrendously over priced with really poor portion sizes. Wouldn’t go again, far better within London. Ambience is the only saving grace .
BT you are the best
Riquísima la comida pero mejor la atención!! BT you are the best!!! Thanks for everything!! The pictures are priceless
Wonderful Birthday Celebration!
Our son had previously said he wanted Sushi for his birthday. As he was turning a teenager, and we were up in London for the Soccer Aid at Stamford Bridge, I set about finding somewhere fancy in the West of London. Lucky Cat came up as an option, so I booked it. We were there on the Sunday, so we had the brunch, but they allowed us to add other dishes (the boy really wanted the short rib, and was not disappointed! The brunch in itself is a generous size, mix of snacks, mains and desserts. Bao Buns and GFC were super tasty, and the sommelier guided us well to an appropriate sake. We were going to football so we weren't dressed overly smartly, and they were not stuffy about this which was nice. They recognised our boys birthday with an extra dessert on a birthday plate which is always a lovely touch. There was a bit of drama at the end as the machine rejected my card, but the bank held the money! So ended up having to put it on a credit card instead, but the staff were friendly and gave me contact details if the money was not returned to my bank. Overall, the food was also visually stunning, which makes it a lovely place for a special occasion for the sushi lover in your life!
G is for Great !
What a great experience, food was superb, service amazing and we had a super relaxed afternoon meal. Well done to Granite, our waiter, very helpful and knowledgable, thanks to him and the team.

Wonderful service and amazing food! I Highly recommend the Chef's Table experience. A great experience when visiting London.
Poor. Go somewhere else
Poor quality food. Lighting is terrible and we felt like we were eating in a pub environment. There are so many wonderful places to eat in London but this is not one of them. If you enjoy good quality food don’t eat here. Ambience was average. The drinks were good and the service too, but that’s it.
2 stars review!!
Tonight we ate at the Lucky Cat in Mayfair. We are from New Zealand but travel extensively. My 21 year old daughter absolutely loves Gordon Ramsey so was very excited to eat there. Unfortunately it didn’t meet our expectations at all. She was soooo looking forward to Bao Buns only to be told they were unavailable after being told that strictly ballroom had been in the night before and they had eaten them all. Next they forgot to order all of our main courses and we had to wait for our pork to be cooked. In the bathroom the sink was filled with wet napkins. If Gordon knew all of this I’m sure he would be all over it. On the bright side the flavours of the food that we did have were amazing it is such a shame the service wasn’t of the same standard. Our wine waiter from Latvia was amazing. I do hope Gordon gets to read this !!!
Amazing night out with friends.
Its an amazing place to eat with friends and get drinks. The service was amazing and my party was very much satisfied and had a lovely night out!
Fantastic experience at Lucky Cat
This is set in a lovely location of Mayfair and when you step inside wonderfully set out. The ambience was great and the service spot on. There was plenty of choice on the menu but I went for the brunch which included 6 courses which were Sushi, wafu, tomato and strawberry tofu cream, GFC chicken, duck leg bao, and a choice of main dish, followed by lucky lollipops, blue willow and mochi and fruits desert. The food was fantastic and had a lovely bottle of wine to accompany it. The staff are very attentive and made the experience all that much better
WHAT A PLACE!!
Lovely place and friendly/professional staff that makes your time worth it every penny! Will definitely come back! Thanks!!
Lucky Cat Mayfair
It's not cheap - you're in Mayfair, big name on the door. Having said that, we enjoyed it, a lot. Despite arriving early, they were welcoming and helpful. We never felt rushed. A very good bar and a superb (if pricey) wine list, with an excellent sommelier. We really liked the food - I don't think we had a dish we didn't enjoy, and we ordered seconds of several. Sashimi the equal of Ebi Sushi which is our benchmark. The GFC is as good as people have said. The Anthropologist and his mates, who eat a lot of fried chicken, say it's the best they've ever had. My heart sank when I saw there was a DJ, but the music was not intrusively loud (and we're quite old). We actually enjoyed classics from when we were young, remixed. A couple of notes - a coffee was slow in arriving; noticeable only because the rest of the service was so good. And they made a mistake on the bil which they corrected quickly and without fuss.
Love this place.
Visited The Lucky Cat with my daughter. The lovely waitress talked us through the menu and advised on how much to order. The food was excellent and we were able to order just the right amount. Lovely atmosphere. All the staff so nice and very professional. Would return.
Stunning Dinner Experience!
We enjoyed a wonderful dinner last night for my wife’s birthday, and it was a very special experience. A HUGE thank you to our amazing host Luca, who looked after us incredibly well with a huge smile, impeccable service and great knowledge! He recommended dishes, perfect cocktails and guided us through a really amazing experience flawlessly. Grazie mille Luca! The Asian fusion food was delicious - the flavours and textures delivered on every course, ranging from fresh, light and citrusy Sushi starters to rich and sumptuous meat dishes. Gordon’s ‘GFC’ fried chicken was incredible! The menu has something for everyone. The bar and dining room is classy and contemporary with nice lighting. There is a DJ playing an up-beat vibe that creates a great atmosphere that’s welcoming and relaxed. The whole experience was executed in typical GR style and without any gimmicks that’s other restaurants try in order to be ‘fancy’. Lucky Cat doesn’t need any of that - it’s just delivers utilising a great team, great food, great setting and great atmosphere. Add this to your shortlist for a special memorable dinner out!
Great place
Great atmosphere and service. Great new cocktails menu by Alberto. Luca always smiley and very attentive service. Best service
Excellent
Just a wonderful vibe, food, drinks and most of all service! Tom Hughes we will always ask for you! Excellent from start to finish
Amazing experience!
My friend and I came to Lucky Cat on Saturday and the atmosphere was buzzing. They had a DJ, all the tables were filled and the staff were amazing. Also can’t fault the food, everything we had was a 10/10. Thank you so much! We will be back again!
Not the normal Gordon Ramsay experience by any means.
We've been to every Ramsay spot in Vegas and another in London, but this one is totally different. And not in a good way. The vibe seems great and you suddenly expect an Asian-tailored Ramsay experience immediately upon entering. The place seems elevated and the staff act so, but the food is just not worth it. It's priced like Ramsay but falls to a level just above decent takeout. Drinks were skimpy and sushi was totally not worth the cost. Extremely underwhelmed by the menu and food. I'd recommend a avoiding this place altogether, plenty of good Asian restaurants in the area with similar cuisine and a much better price point.
If Gordon Ramsey had dinner last night at the Lucky Cat, he
If Gordon Ramsey had dinner last night at the Lucky Cat, he would have been screaming and yelling at the horrible food (maybe Gordon needs to visit his own London based restaurant). The sushi was very fishy and old; everything was dumped (tons) with sauce (to the point you could not even taste any of the food); and all the dishes tasted exactly the same (again dumped in sauce). If you want good local food, this is not the place to go in London.
The food was decent and the waiter was not friendly.
The ambience of the restaurant was nice.
Came in because 1.
I love Gordon Ramsey and 2. Asian fusion food is always perfection! The overall vibe/ambiance of the Lucky Cat is very dark and romantic. Great sport for a small group dinner or even a date night. Service wise the staff was very sweet and our waitress was attentive and made some nice recommendation on the more popular items. They defiantly do not rush you so you can have a very relaxed dining experience which is nice. In terms of food; the duck boa was good and the egg fried rice stole the show for us. I did think the sushi options were a bit on the boring side and very limited overall. The nigiri was good, but I would expect great quality for this caliber of a restaurant. Overall would say this is a good spot, but when I think of a Gordon Ramsey restaurant I just expect a little more. Food was good, but I wasn't overwhelmed by it overall. As a whole Lucky Cat is good.

A hip place I think great for drinking and having fun with friends; not really the best environment for enjoying the food. The ambiance was loud music, dark and loud conversation. I think it's great for celebrations. We went there because we loved Hell's Kitchen and wanted to try Gordon Ramsay's Asian cuisine. The food was good and presentation was beautiful. We had baby squid, nigiri selection, grilled broccolini, Thai stone bass, baby chicken and egg fried rice. Baby squid was fried like fried calamari but using the babies. The coating was perfect but lack of salt. Nigiri selection was the best dish of the night! Perfect rice temperature, great fish and on point torched. Grilled broccolini was well seasoned and presented but a bit on the greasy side. Still a very tasty dish though. Thai fish was delicious with a little kick from the green curry. I wish this dish comes with some rice to finishing up the yummy sauce. Baby chicken was super tender but carful with the tiny bone. Very flavorful dish. Egg fried rice was the only dish that was disappointed. It was a bit too salty and with the soft egg blended in at the end, the fried rice became too soggy. It's more like the Korean bibimbap than fried rice. Service was not my favorite part here. Our first server ditched us because we studied the menu for too long for him. We were first time there and tried to study the menu since we were suggested to share our dishes, we need to talk about what each other like. But he didn't want to wait so we were given to a very nice girl who was a bit more patient. It's a fast paced place but we shouldn't be feeling rushed.
We ordered Uber eats from this restaurant.
The dumplings were ok but the Perkins duck was awful! Dry and tough. Totally inedible. Do not recommend.

Whose name will my reservation be under when I arrive at the venue? |
It can be under your name or a name you choose! Some reservation offers already include the AppointmentTrader Transfer Service which will transfer the reservation in to your name. If its not included you can add it on after buying the reservation for a small fee. One thing on that though: As many reservations become available at last minute, taking a reservation in someone else name is quick and great for privacy. Most reservations on AT are listed with a virtual phone number, so all you need to do is present the phone number at the hostess stand and you are good to go!
