First time here, and definitely the last
Overpriced with a sorely lacking standard of quality. Pizza with a harden dry crust definitely does not warrant $60, 3 mozzarella sticks for $18 and a straight serve run-of-the-mill gin&tonic for a whooping $25. Sommelier was standoffish. Volume of music was ridiculously loud to the extent it’s deafening. Just a disappointing experience overall.

Great place to come with friends.
Food selections were perfect, not too big menu.
Food taste amazing, especially spicy chicken and the pizza. Omg pizza yes!
Shout to Nabil who took care of us. Friendly team
Calzone, pepper pasta, caesar salad - all amazing
Saturday night dinner with the unbelievable burrata salad, the caesar salad, the Calzone - to die for, and the pepper pasta... outstanding, perfectly executed food. The wine - crazy expensive! Wonderful evening.
Be the first to ReplyGreat place!
We go out occasionally to try out different places and I decided on here with my kids. I think they enjoyed the freedom to walk over to choose their drink! Yes, they were excited about that! Next came our guy, Irfan who was sooo nice explaining the dishes to us whilst noting our dietary restrictions! He even told us that we ordered enough as it's all sharing size. The food, yes the food is comforting and tasty! Kids loved everything! The wings and bleu cheese dip is the favourite starter and the Calzone.. The Calzone was divine! When we talked about it, all of us just started drooling again! Everything was lapped up with just crumbs left on the table! Thank you so much to the team for making our family dinner memorable!!! This is a go-to place for family dinners. Definitely our go-to place now!
Be the first to ReplyExcellent food, outstanding service. TAHA was our guy!
One of those places that really doesn’t need to try hard to be cool - like the coolest kid in school, this place is effortlessly cool. It also retains more than a dash of sophistication with its ornate finishing touches amid an overall industrial vibe - think exposed fittings and cement floors with candles and chandeliers. With a wall of wine fridges where you can choose your own bottle, a small but excellent curated menu and the kind of service you’d normally get a Michelin restaurant - what’s not to like? Pro tip - order the calzone and Winston Churchill’s favourite champagne, Pol Roger, and ask for Taha who will ensure you have an awesome experience… what a gent!

Bait and switch
overpriced wine and bait and switch promotions.
We responded enthusiastically to an oyster promo which explicitly offered $1 oysters all night - only to be told after we had ordered our drinks (see next section) that there was a limit of six oysters per table!
My dry July was well supported by completely outrageous wine prices that are so ridiculous even by Singapore standards that they also served to undermine my appetite for the paltry 3 oysters permitted.
Enjoy a wine at home and order a pizza instead.
Arrogant, smug service, against covid rules
Arrogant, expensive, so so food
Made go wait 15min even with reservation. Rude.
Made to wait at lift stuffy lift lobby as result. Not even in restaurant!
Sat next to kitchen which was hot.
Noisy as hell with loud music playing / don’t think it’s allowed during covid.
Super rowdy and noisy table but staff seems ok
Just a smug attitude among the waiters and sommelier
Hit and Miss
Get a new set of sommelier. Waiters are ok. We felt like we're from Kampong heading to a "swanky" resto. That's how the sommelier made me feel. I was trying to to inform him I really like my wine chilled. If he studied WSET L2 hard enough, he knows customers/your guest have the right to want how chilled/warm their wine. Is not about following the books. Is like some love spice some just can't have any. Respect and have compassion. Anyway, I was "informed" their amazing porcelain jar can contain wine at "well Chilled" temperature under the hot sun glaze.
We wanted 2 champagne glasses to start but no we all sold by the bottle. Mmmm...so Mr. Sommelier said he can do something for us and we said sure start 2 glasses of their champagne. I didn't ask the price. But the pour per glass was so pathetic, I asked him how much is per glass?? He said SGD 28++ per glass for that??? lol he did try to make up and pour another 50ml per glass more after.
Main course hardly much to choose. Restroom only 1 unisex very small. If you're above 60kg female, I don't think you fit in easily.
Overall, our bill come to ~ SGD 400 for 2 pax. I can't bring any guest here. I think is great for young couples who want to impress their date thinking the pricier the wine the better or maybe is CoVid, everyone has no where too spend. We won't be back again. We wish you all the best.
There’s no place like Lucali!
This was absolutely my best dining experience in Singapore! The service was supreme - warm, attentive, smiley, informative and accommodating! I felt like we’d been friends for years. Give those folks an award (or bonus!) The food was simple, cooked exceptionally. Yes, the pizza seems expensive, but it’s HUGE! 18 inches. This was more than enough for two people, in fact we took most of it home. I especially appreciated the fresh basil. The pasta was divine! *Chef’s kiss* Best cooked pasta in Singapore. Hands down. The wine is by the bottle and prices start at $100, but it’s all fantastic wine, stored at correct temperatures and the staff are very knowledgeable in wine flavours and recommendations. (Again, round of applause for the staff!) The candlelit ambience, the beautiful old tiles, the artwork, the windows overlooking the river... Lucali has it all and more!
Be the first to ReplyWine so expensive it'll ruin your evening!
The space is lovely, and the candlelit ambience creates a wonderful mood.
The food is extremely limited but good.
The wine offering, however, is over priced, unavailable by the glass, and screams of 'we can't make too much money off a pizza, so we're going to rip off customers by insulting them with our wine prices.' No wonder you can't find their drinks menu online!
It's a crazy policy, because it ruined what was a fun evening.
4 of us had one pizza, one salad, one pasta and two bottles of wine. Bill = $520!!!
Everyone understands that a restaurant needs to boost their profits from drinks, especially in a water drinking culture like Singapore. But, when those profits reach these sorts of levels it becomes prohibitive and an insult to the customer.
I'm not saying they shouldn't offer some expensive wines, but balance those with some more reasonable offerings. And certainly have a couple by the glass.
Until they change their terribly misguided policy I wouldn't recommend this restaurant to anyone! Which is a shame, because so much else is excellent.
