worth a visit
absolutely delightful dinner and service. delicious. especially loved the starters. i wasn't too sure about the pre dinner crispy fish skin and mayo thing. probably do something a little fresher.

If you want to feel unwelcome, sick to your stomach and cheated…I highly recommend this place. Don’t be fooled by the lovely view of the harbor, it’s not worth the headache.

The menú de degustación is a continuous flow of some of the worst wine I have ever tasted. S small glass of wine between each course, but very small (thank goodness). Each course just a rehash of tasteless, no mediocre, snippets of food, then an incredibly boring piece of cod, followed by some ground up pork layered into a small piece of . . . something. Desert was something my grandmother could have put together in five minutes, a kind of biscuit with caramel in the middle. The service terrible. Takes them forever to clear away all the wine glasses they left. Before you could finish one glass they were back pouring another! Getting a glass of water refilled was best impossible. The waiter would wait until your glass was empty and your mouth parched before he would swing by and toss water into your glass. Not a smile on anyone's face. To top it off, there is nowhere to hang your coat! In winter! You just have to drape it over the back of your chair. And the price ridiculously high. STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE. I can't imagine how they got a star from Michelin. Maybe they are for sale.
Be the first to ReplyExcellent service and atmosphere. Friendly staff.
The food at this restaurant is excellent. Try the lomo de ternera gallega or the codfish and the cheese platter as dessert.

I booked a table online, pre selecting the tasting menu with wine pairing. I arrived shortly before my expected time following a quick walk from the metro and received a warm greeting. I was shown to my quiet table in the corner and proceeded to enjoy a wonderful evening. The lady who served me spoke very good English as she described each of the wines and the food they accompanied. All staff were friendly and efficient throughout. The food was really good, worthy of its one star award, with a strong emphasis on Gallician cuisine and local ingredients. The wines also were stunning and largely from Spain. A wonderful evening that will stay with me for a long time.

Service was terrible - staff was literally talking about me whilst I was within earshot even though I clearly understood Spanish.
The waiter was rude, curt, described the food and the wine in 3-4 words and left as quickly as he could even though the restaurant was empty. Pretty sure he also at one point snorted at me when he offered bread.
I had to ask for the music to be put back on as the silence was deafening and joked with the only other people in the restaurant that it was like church.
Probably the worst Michelin experience I’ve ever had of the 16+ I’ve had so far. Unbelievably bad. Disgraceful experience of Madrid Michelin scene.
An enjoyable, relaxed evening
This was our second visit to Lua and we had a pleasant, relaxing dinner--staff is warm, local, more family-like and personal, than a polished one or two-star restaurant. We had the tasting menu with wine pairing, which consisted of several courses--so not over-the-top--and I would agree with other reviews that while it is lovely and food is good, it is not a one-star restaurant in our opinion. That was fine--we liked the mackerel, the mushroom cappuccino, the foie gras, and wines. The menu was a little hodgepodge of small and large dishes, two soup-type items in a row, etc. but not to nitpick--we had a very enjoyable time. If you want to relax and not go for a big dining experience, we highly recommend Lua as a more moderate option.
