Lofoten Fiskerestaurant Oslo Reviews from The Last Year
Veryy good adress on the fjord mall
Back to Lofoten and always satisfied. The oytsers are very good and also the Fisksoup. Langoustine tempura was excellent. Salmons perfect but The Kingscrab Schniztler could have more...kingcrab!!! Cheese platers and Passion fruit cream excellent. An excellent austrian wine and the cocktails were also on top.
Decent food, poor service
Six in our group. Food was decent, not extraordinary. Seems like a place for undiscerning tourists. The waiter was snotty and sneered at us when we wanted to order carafes of wine. They do not have bottles. So we ordered by the glass which was a lot more expensive. Then he got one order wrong when three people ordered the crab schnitzel but brought out 2 schnitzels and one salmon entree. He tried to convince us we ordered the salmon and would not take it back, so my husband ate it. Pleasant atmosphere, decent food but service was not great.
Delicious food, Good service and great location, but a bit
Delicious food, Good service and great location, but a bit overpriced. You are paying more for the location and view.
Excellent lunch and great seafood!
We had today's three-course menu for lunch. The food was delicious, well-presented and OK value for money. The service was friendly and we would come back and we recommend it.
Great restaurant
Perfectly located in Oslo. This restaurant was wonderful and the view by the water was great. Thanks to the chef for accommodating the menu! The food was very good and the service was friendly! Definitely recommend!
A good place for seafood in Oslo
The restaurant offers a solid seafood dining experience. The menu has a good variety, and the dishes are well prepared. Service is efficient and professional. The atmosphere is comfortable and makes for a pleasant dining experience. The restaurant's prime location adds to its appeal. Despite a minor mix-up due to our late arrival, which was promptly addressed with complimentary drinks, the overall experience was satisfactory. It is a recommended choice for quality seafood in Oslo.
Visiting Oslo
Good meal, good fish No oysters because they come from France !!! Very Nice service by Jeevana. Nice place to walk after dinner. We enjoyed
Classic Norwegian fish restaurant
We last visited here some 20 years ago or so. It had a good reputation then and it’s heartening to see that it’s living up to its heritage. We came for lunch. It wasn’t busy, although we had made a reservation anyway. Very easily done on their webpage. The lunch menu is quite simple. There are old standards like prawns, or lobster, but we both chose the 2 course set menu, which was salmon tartare and the fish of the day - halibut in our case. Both were delicious. Paired with a lovely Italian white wine, it was a perfect, simple but tasty lunch. Service was impeccable and the location was fantastic. Well done everyone.
Great classic Norwegian fish dishes - had the pollock and

Fresh ingredients prepared well.
Excellent service as well. Location vibrant and accessible.
A memorable meal
Beautiful food, excellent service and a sommelier who knew his trade! We asked to be moved from a noisy table and this was achieved without fuss or embarrassment. Lovely atmosphere.
Do NOT Go !
This restaurant is a typical tourist trap !! The waiter is quite pushy and tries to sell you expensive drinks prior to even have sat down properly. When he presented the menu, he promoted the fish soup as being their "flagship" dish together with a recommendation dish which was the Skrei. Let's start with the fish soup : it lacked taste and was watered down. It hardly had any seafood inside (1 cube of white fish and 2 very small shrimps next to a more generous amount of shredded carrots). It was like if you added 1 liter of water into a cup of soup, it did not taste of anything. The skrei came with its roe, liver, a spoonful of melted butter, some sliced carrots and small potatoes on the side. This dish also lacked seasoning and was bland. The skrei was poached or steamed without seasoning, just like the thinly slices carrots. Everything was bland and lacked taste. I wonder when the chefs learned to taste food before serving it ??? When the waiter asked for feedback, we told him what we thought in a constructive manner. Later another person came to ask what went wrong but the feedback received was nothing they cared about.
Long wait time for meal
We were looking for a restaurant with sea food of good quality. Lofoten was recommended to us by some friends and we were uber excited to try Norwegian oysters. We wanted to try as many dishes as possible, so we ordered a 2 and a 3 course meal, oysters, mussels, soup, sandwiches. The atmosphere was good, the food was good, drinks were on point, the staff was friendly but somehow inattentive. The most disappointing part of our experience was the time it took to get our food. We didn't get to eat the dessert that came with our 3-course meal, as we waited and waited and we didn't have more time to spend there. Unfortunately we had already paid the bill, so we just left without consuming part of a meal we already paid for. We were there for about 3 hours! Unfortunately, I would not recommend it..
We came here for a very late lunch since we woke up so late
We came here for a very late lunch since we woke up so late from being jet lagged, but I'm glad they were still serving lunch! I believe it's until 1530. They have a separate lunch menu. I ordered the pot of mussels which was massive!!! I mean, it was def a pot for 2 but I ate most of it by myself. They serve you bread and butter at the beginning so once I got past all the mussels, I took my bread and dipped it in the sauce. Hubby got the 2 course lunch meal which included a halibut carpaccio and the fish special of the day which was monkfish. My hubby said the halibut was one of the best he's ever had. I tried the monkfish and it was very good, local to the region, and is a good meaty white fish. Diced beets were garnished on top, along with roasted potatoes. Overall, an excellent dish. Highly recommend this seafood restaurant along the water!
A lovely meal, all in all.
I don't ordinarily post restaurant reviews but because I was shocked by what some others have written here, which was entirely contrary to my experience, I decided to speak out. In short, the food was marvelous. I started with the fish soup, which was unusual and very subtle in its flavor--highly recommended! I followed with the baked cod, accompanied by a fine glass of sancerre, and finally the sea buckthorn mousse. All delicious. Some commentators have complained about the service. I found it friendly and helpful--my only reservation is that, for a restaurant of this type and at this price point, there should have been more personnel on hand: they could not be as attentive as I think they might have liked to be, and often seemed to be rushing back and forth to attend to everything; the atmosphere would be more relaxing for customers if the staff could be more relaxed. But even with that, I would happily return here and recommend it to others.
