Locanda Verde New York Reviews from The Last Year
On par for a hotel restaurant.
Food was meh...nothing I would ever come back for. Ravioli was too salty, but the sauce was good. Who ever made the sauce should have seasoned the ravioli as well. The squid ink pasta had way too much going on...was it a pasta dish, was it a salad, was it the kitchen sink? Who knows. Drinks were good. Service was decent. Not the most attentive service I've had but definitely not the worst. Really overpriced for slightly less than mediocre food and forgettable ambiance. Good place if you want to spot celebrities and dine with transients that have subpar palates and overwhelming need to impress. Suggest you get a drink and apps here if you want to indulge in a bit of pretentiousness, but go elsewhere for a better tasting meal.
Ok one last review for the day.
What can I say about this place. I had the prime rib. Absolutely cooked to perfection.. seared and seasoned perfectly. My girlfriend had the pasta with calamari also cooked to perfection. For appetizer we had the crab crostini... listen it's worth the money you spend, it's very reasonable. Drinks were perfect. Staff was great and attentive, the ambiance is nice as well.
I'd give it 6 stars if I could, I am now obsessed with this
I'd give it 6 stars if I could, I am now obsessed with this place. The service was top tier and was unique in that it did not at ALL feel like I was being rushed out of there (like many other NYC restaurants). It was nice to just enjoy every detail. The tortellini was incredible obviously but the halibut was something so amazing that writing about it doesn't even do it justice - you just have to go try it. I'll go back here 1,000 more times. Great atmosphere for any occasion that is worth celebrating in style.

Exceptional services and amazing food! Love the warm and inviting ambience and the attention to making sure your dining experience is wonderfully memorable!
Nice trendy spot always crowded always noisy.
Food is overpriced but good not great halibut was OK. The duck was OK. Steak tartar was very good. The tortellini was average. So was the tuna carpaccio. The best treat is showing the pool downstairs on the hotel side. Most people have never seen it. It's worth a visit.
Best ravioli and pasta sauce I have ever had.
So good! My husband raved about the tiramisu. Nice ambience. Clean bathrooms. Would definitely recommend!
2 stars because the whipped ricotta was good, not great but
2 stars because the whipped ricotta was good, not great but good. The service was ok. Went to dinner with friends & we ordered 4 different entrees, none were anything to rave about. Everything needed more seasoning, I ordered the duck with the farro & it was way too smoky. The vegetarian entree option were very limited & they were out of one, so the waiter offered an off menu option, which was not good, the pasta was over cooked, that it was like one giant clump, & there was big chunks of garlic in the tomato sauce, but no flavor. Over all the place had a cool vibe, but I wouldn't go back.

We had a wonderful evening with outstanding food and excellent service. All of the staff were so kind and attentive from the moment we walked in the door. An all around great dining experience!
Outstanding service, great ambiance.
Did was very good. A bit pricey but I think every where is coping with inflation.
The beau and I accompanied my mom for a Mother's Day dinner
The beau and I accompanied my mom for a Mother's Day dinner and we had a lovely time. It was quite busy for a Sunday evening and the service sputtered to a start but once they caught up it was fine. At least our server gave us an immediate heads up that the kitchen was running behind which I did appreciate. The food is top notch. Our salad was fresh and pleasantly acidic. The crab crostini and lamb meatball sliders were excellent. Mom splurged on the scallops and we all agreed they were the best dish on the table. The beau and I split the tortelloni Verdi and while enjoyable, I thought the smoked ricotta was overwhelming to the dish. We finished up with the panna cotta and their version of tiramisu. Both were nice but the tiramisu was a bit heavy on the cream for us. Love the vibe here. A great bar and open kitchen make it feel lively and hip.
Excellent early weekend brunch
Meeting friends for 10AM weekend brunch in NYC isn’t easy as most places aren’t open that early. But Locanda Verde is! Lovely space, excellent service, and really good food. I had the brown butter waffle (so good), others had the oatmeal and the frittata. Portions are reasonable so you don’t feel all heavy and bloated when you are done. Easily accessed from Tribeca, SoHo or the FiDi
Great ambience, delicious!
Great find on our recent trip to NY. Made a reservation on a busy Saturday night. Met friends for a drink at the bar prior to being seated. Excellent and friendly service from hostess, bartender and wait staff. Good ambience and modest noise level (easy to converse) despite being busy. Highly recommend the salad, scallops, ravioli, tortellini. The gelato with hard chocolate covering and the tart were delicious!
Never coming back. Angelo the manager is the worst!
After coming many times to Locanda Verde, I can now say I will never be back. I had one of the worst meals out in New York in a long time. We arrived at 8pm, and found ourselves waiting 30 min to finally track down a waiter to put our order in. After we ordered, we received our appetizers 40 min later. However, when we received them, we were told they were out of half of them. Then 45 minutes went by before we were told our pastas would be out shortly. Another ten minutes later, we finally tracked down the manager, Anthony, who said they’d be out shortly and that he was bringing a bottle of wine for us and comping the pastas. Another 15 minutes later, we received the pasta which was cold, and then waited another 45 minutes for our entrees. The chicken had no flavor and the lamb was cold. Then when we left, Anthony, the manager, brought the bill and added the bottle of wine, which was $150! He refused to remove it from the bill. The service was terrible and the food was so average. The manager was absolutely terrible, and resisted at every turn. Never coming back here.
Poor service and food was subpar for the price.
Very disappointed as we had a dinner celebration for my brothers wedding there. 5 adults and a child. I heard it was not as good as it used to be and unfortunately this held true.
Francisco was great and the Sommelier Gunner is my hero.
By far the BEST restaurant in NYC bar none. Can't wait to return. BTW, the ribeye was AMAZING
This is a must visit restaurant for a memorable experience.
The food is as amazing as the decor. Any Noho Group restaurant will exceed your expectations.
Thank the Heavens I have finally found my new go-to Italian
Thank the Heavens I have finally found my new go-to Italian restaurant! It's about time TriBeCa, tks =) WE'LL BE BACK SOON opened up a place like this- perfect cocktails for after work drinks or dinner with friends when you're craving the oh-so-delectable carne pizza.
Amazing food, service, and wine.
Ambiance is great you can get a drink at the bar before you get seated and enjoy the vibes.
Great food, amazing service
This is a classy restaurant without being at all fancy or pretentious. The menu offers truly beautiful food, from the salads (the radicchio with speck and hazelnuts!) to the pastas and entrees.
Fun ambience with a great menu! Staff is very friendly.
I've sat at the bar a few times and service/bartenders are great

We came here for girls dinner, had a reservation - which was necessary cause it was poppin! We got the steak tartare, 2 of the pastas, brussel sprouts, and the chocolate tart dessert. 10/10 on everything. Will certainly be back, think it would make a great date spot. Our waitress was lovely and so fun. Vibes were immaculate.
Beautiful restaurant with solid food! Everything we ordered
Beautiful restaurant with solid food! Everything we ordered was pretty good. It does get very very loud though.
The food here was phenomenal.
So much so, we didn't snap many pics. Cocktails were great and the dark chocolate tortino was rich and velvety. Service was pleasant, ambiance was cozy rustic. The insalata di rucola has me wishing to import vacche rosse at an exorbitant shipping rate.
An update a mere 13.
5 years in the making, this time for BRUNCH which was EXCELLENT and UNDERRATED. Bacon and Sausage were fabulous. The wife said it was the best scrambled egg of 2023. We were there on NYE day and it was a big year for scrambled eggs. I couldn't leave without having a pasta and the lamb bolognese rigatoni was also delicious.
Great Italian Food For The Masses.
Nestled within the Greenwich Hotel is the casual and lively neighborhood tavern, the Locanda Verde serving 'spirit uplifting' takes on Italian cooking. The restaurant space is divided by radius wood-rimmed banquettes into petit intimate dining sections, sports a granite-topped tavern-like bar and rows of chockablock cafe tables......all in all... a pleasant eating environment. The kitchen is armed by chef Andrew Carmellini & crew providing breakfast, lunch & dinner as well as 24 hour room service for guests. The menu's are served up family style and you are likely to find star food-fare like Sheep Milk Ricotta and my Grandmothers Ravioli. I'm a sucker for lamb so I indulged in the Lamb Meatball Sliders but I couldn't pass on dessert in the form of Tiramisu and a paper plane cocktail (bourbon, aperol and lemon) to wash things down .......... great Italian food fit for the masses.

I have a notice stating that my bid has been accepted and is awaiting transfer. The reservation is for the 18th, but the “moderator” said he will confirm booking by the 28th. Is this an indicator that I may not have a reservation?

Hey @EvocativeFold67, welcome to appointmenttrader! Once the reservation is in your portfolio, you definitely own the timeslot, the review team would not have approved the trade if the reservation wasn't confirmed - so you are going :-) Judging from your post you bid today and are going tomorrow - don't worry as long as you initiated the name transfer, you are good - the transfer service has to work with the opening hours of the reservation team of the respective venue. You will likely see the transfer confirmation a couple hours before your reservation time.
