Cute lil Peruvian (i think) grill with potent, inventive cocktails, charming front of house staff & tasty food. Cute bar to grab drinks & small plates.

While trying to get into this restaurant is annoying, the flavors are incredible and the ambience is very chic. The service was pretty good, nothing to really write about, which consisted of over-the-top Brooklyn hipster types which you can interpret any way you'd like. The space is very cool but very tight. Felt very cramped but that's also what's to be expected. We really enjoyed the quinoa salad with banana. The flavors mingled in an exceptionally pleasant way. The branzino was also amazingly delicious. We had some other fishy things as apps that were good. Beef Tenderloin Stir was just okay. Too many fries, kinda soggy. We had cocktails at the bar first which were lovely and wine at the table. Overall, worth the wait.

Peruvian restaurant with heavy Asian influences done in a strange way. +scallop: fresh scallops in a very very spicy sauce and very spicy candied ginger. Hard dish to eat +pig tails: the soy flavored sauce felt really off. Like, the flavors were sweet but not a good kind. I also didn't enjoy the consistency of the sauce. Wish it had been stickier. +mackerel: nice fish with good sauce. I love corn flavored things. Strongly disliked the cheese on the side but I think that just might be me being unfamiliar with this type of flavor +pork collar: our favorite of the night. Pork was flavored and cooked perfectly. Very tender. Sauce was underwhelming though and I didn't love the onion with the sweet potato

Went for dinner and was immediately seated at their bar area where you are able to watch them prep the food. A great experience! Good ambiance and music and not too loud so conversation flowed great. The scallop ceviche is a must!
Be the first to ReplyIt's nice to see a restaurant back at the top of its game.
It's a gorgeous interior, the Lomo is maybe the most delectable thing in North Brooklyn, their apps are all good too. Don't skip those mushroom skewers. I really liked their new martini, and I thought even their service was more on point and focused than I've ever seen it. Five stars, so grateful it's here, still not quite interested in returning for brunch though.

Located in Williamsburg in Brooklyn. You enter the doors and are greeted by the moody low lighting, aromas of excellent food, and good vibing music. The hostess was friendly and accommodating. I recommend having a reservation when coming to this place as it is a smaller restaurant. The table ahead of us was taking a little longer to wrap up so we were offered bar seating until the table was ready. I ordered a cariรฑito and highly recommend. I came here with 3 friends. We ordered 2 dishes from the top section- the beef heart and trumpet. They came on 2 skewers each. That is enough to share a skewer with one another person. They were both flavored wonderfully. The beef heart was a bit salty but I like that. Then we got one dish from the ceviche. We got the tuna ceviche. The tuna was so tender and flavored to perfection. It is a small plate so enough for everyone to have a bite or so- but it is a lump piece of tuna. For the third section on the menu we got two items- Japanese eggplant and a fish and corn dish. Also amazing. The Japanese dish was a tad larger which was nice. Lastly and most importantly- the Lomo Saltado. This is a must get. It is $100 but it is worth it. It is a large portion of food. It comes with potato pancakes that are heavenly and piping hot on the plate still, guac, rice, sauce, jalapeรฑos, and the large dish of tender and juicy meat and fries and sauce. 10/10 recommend. The service was top notch. Make a rezzy here.

The place is beneath the flyover so expect noise when you are approaching the restaurant. Food is decent, a friend of mine and I ordered some of the appetizers and entree to share. I like that they simplify it down their menu just to a single paper and double sided. On one end you have the cocktails and beer menu and on the other end you have food menu.

Not sure why this place doesn't have 4+ stars!?!? I'm a total food snob and this place blew me away. Had a reservation with a dear friend, ordered the scallops, the king trumpet skewers, duck sausage, and the pork. Every bite was flavorful perfection, and the service was fantastic. This was a month ago and I'm still thinking about it. Highly recommend.

I'm very disappointed so many things changed since the last time I visited this place 5 years ago - the food was good and affordable not sure why they made this place not delicious and with crazy prices. I ordered the lomo saltado - it's $115 dollars when it was $40 dollars before. Let me tell you it's a joke - so little pieces of onions, crushed in French fries on top and so little steak and rice. The chicha morada is $12 dollars and it had so much ice that after few minutes I could barely taste it anymore and for $12 bucks like it's an alcoholic drink. The appetizers were the only good part
Be the first to ReplyTrendy spot for Peruvian food in Brooklyn.
I would highly recommend having a reservation here, especially for the weekends. The food was decent and definitely unique. We came here with a group of four and shared all the dishes. We started off with cocktails, 2 different ceviches, and beef heart skewers. Definitely some of the most unique ceviche flavors I have had - both were incredibly refreshing. We then split the lomo saltado - the most highly anticipated dish of the night. Unfortunately 3/4 of us found it incredibly salty and the steak to fry ratio was completely off considering the price (we probably each had 2 morsels of beef). We finished with the olive oil cake which was okay, nothing to write home about. Overall cool spot to check out but will probably not be returning any time soon.

9997.0003 off because of my companyFrom looking at the low star reviews, I'm pretttty sure this is a Michelin star restaurant. How are people confused that it's expensive? This is a $$$ place. I don't understand. One of my favorite places in the world is Peru (highly, highly recommend Machu Picchu). This is the best ceviche I've ever had in my life. I actually came to the terms I didn't like ceviche a few years ago. But man oh man, soo good. Get both. It's worth it.It was a little weird that they don't serve pisco sour on the menu. I think I had to request it to get a variation of it.I believe I went around 6 or 7 (pre-peak) and it was pretty quiet. I sat near the "bar/ kitchen" but I wish I chose a dining table. The decor is gorg (plants everywhere) & it literally feels like you're in another world than the hustle & bustle of Williamsburg. I'm obsessed. For the main, my date & I split the Crispy Pig Tails... it, was, interesting. I don't think I could get over the poor tails on the pigs ! Surprisingly a reasonable serving size, but not for me.I will definitely be coming back & still think about the ceviche.
Be the first to ReplyWe absolutely loved coming here.
The food is delicious and the service is even better. We had Rachel and John. They went above and beyond to make sure my 17 month old had everything he needed to stay happy at dinner. We were nervous that such a nice restaurant wouldn't be accommodating to little ones, but I saw plenty of other kids there. It helped that the music was loud enough to drown out baby noises, but not so loud you couldn't hear the people across from you. You can't go wrong with the drinks, especially the sangria cocktail. The mushroom rice plate is a must order!

First off, I rarely have this strong of a review for a restaurant. I reached out to management to voice my feedback directly to them before writing a review, but didn't hear back...so here it is:We came here for dinner with high expectations. The good: ceviche was fresh and tasty, the bok choy was delicious. Drinks were good. The bad:1. RIDICULOUSLY OVERPRICED meat dishes. the pork collar had 4 tiny pieces for $34 and the main steak dish, Lomo Saltado, was very disappointing for $82. The lomo saltado was a few small pieces of steak drenched in salty gravy sauce topped with fries, served with side of rice, bread, small amount of guacamole. For someone who eats out a lot in NYC, I'm used to high prices for certain dishes but this was just ridiculous and felt like robbery. The majority of this dish is low cost ingredients-fries and rice. I actually could not belief the price of this dish for what was served.2. The service. We had to constantly ask for more water and serving utensils for the dishes. We had an ice cream dessert that melted before a serving utensil was given to us. Our server never came to ask us how any of the dishes were.Overall, a very disappointing and overpriced meal. If you do come here, stick to drinks, ceviches and probably the vegetable dishes.
Be the first to ReplyBE WARNED.
Llama Inn was a huge disappointment, the only saving grace was our lovely server. I booked on Resy the outdoor "covered and heated" seating. Sounds so lovely, a warm cozy dinner. It was NOT covered and NOT heated. It was 20 degrees outside and the heaters DID NOT WORK. Asking the staff how this was insane they alluded to the fact that it is a known fact that the heating doesn't work outside. It's New York in February and the management of this restaurant somehow think its ok to lie to their guests and sit them outside with no heat. Not only that but there is 0 ambience outside, the music was glitching and the wind blew the curtains open. I wouldn't know if the food was good because by the time it gets outside it's no longer warm. No they did not comp anything either.
Be the first to ReplyAmazing food and great ambiance.
Service is a bit slow. But the food made up for the wait.
Be the first to ReplyIt was good but not typical puervian food.
Lomo saltado was great just took a very long time to come out, we were almost the last ones to leave the restaurant. Drinks were good as well. Just waited forever for our main course to come out.
Be the first to ReplyReally disappointed with my experience.
They seated me and my girlfriend at an eight person communal table on Valentine's Day without any advance notice. The host refused to move us to one of the open two person tables or bar seats that were available at the time. This place is too expensive to be cramming people in like that.
Be the first to ReplyWas excited to try this place.
It has a nice open kitchen / bar layout. However, the prices are outrageous here. 2 baked oysters for $12. The Lomo Saltado is $82 but has so few cubes of sub-par steak. It's all fries and comes with two sides of carbs. I've had full strips of high quality steak that cost about the same. Don't be fooled by the pictures!
Be the first to ReplyOverall the Llama Inn really gets 2.
5 stars. The dishes we had were too sour. The overbearing taste of lime in the fluke ceviche and arroz con mariscos leave no room for the seafood flavor to come out. The seafood is fresh but hard to distinguish due to the strong lime flavor. The dishes are mainly for sharing but are too small. You and a friend can really get 4-5 bites with each dish, no more. The thigh on skewers were good but for two people you only get three. You have to pay another $8 to add an extra skewer. Note that three small dishes and one drink will cost you an average of $115. The decor is nice but the tables are packed in too close which doesn't provide you with quiet conversations. The service was friendly and comparable to other restaurants. With many good restaurant establishments in Williamsburg, there are better alternatives. There are also better Peruvian restaurants in Brooklyn that are comparable and better without the higher price tag.

I've been going to Llama Inn for years now and have always had good experiences and I don't write too many reviews. I had the pleasure of meeting the manager Dan and holy crap this guy has no idea what hospitality is. How this guy is in this industry is beyond me . My friends and I will never come here again .

I didn't get any pics- it was too dark- but the food was good and so was my cocktail. The only issue was that the menu was not vegetarian friendly at all! We had the quinoa (without bacon) and I had the beets. Very tasty! I'm sure if they did a vegetarian protein dish it would be excellent!

Delicious food and wonderful appetizers! We tried almost everything on the menu. The breakfast burrito was very yummy and I also enjoyed the quinoa. definitely recommend!
Be the first to ReplyFantastic ambience inside makes for a perfect date night
Fantastic ambience inside makes for a perfect date night out.We got here at 7:30PM and got seated immediately since reservations were made. We went with the quinoa, pork chops, crispy pigtails and the lomo saltado.First was the quinoa. Came cold with quinoa, cashew, bacon and avocado. Great appetizer choice as it was a gif mixture of salt and sweet to whet your appetite.Crispy pigtails came next. I've never eaten pigtails before and didn't know what to expect but was pleasantly surprised. Was indeed crispy with some meat on the tail. A bit on the saltier side and would've paired well with a bowl of rice.Pork chops came with 2 meaty pieces. The pork was incredibly tender and whatever the sauce was, gave it a slight kick. The star of the show, the lomo saltado. Giant dish of beef and fries in a sauce that definitely kicked. The fries were good but eventually got drenched in the sauce that had me dripping sweat. The beef was extremely tender but for a dish that was $52, only 4 pieces of beef was present. This comes with scallions, guac and rice. You're suppose to place some guac, rice, beef and fries onto the pancake for a DIY tortilla essentially. This place is worth a visit but as other reviews have stated, some things are overpriced and overly salty.

No hype here, just the good stuff. Total gem

The llama Inn is one of those brunch places that is on every top brunches list you will find on Google. We came here for brunch today and walked away content vowing to ย check out their dinner menu one day. Not a huge fan of the location, it's right under the BQE but the ambiance more than makes up for it. It has a tropical vibe with a bar in the middle of the restaurant surrounded by booths and tables. It has an open and airy atmosphere, filled with natural light and this was on an overcast day. I'd imagine it looks even better at night. The brunch menu was short and pricey. We didn't get any apps, went straight for the kill. We got the breakfast burrito with chips, fried rice with omelette and a steak dish with pasta. We had a toddler with us and were disappointed they had nothing for kids on the menu. We ended up getting an order of fries and a non alcoholic juice of sorts. Everything was great, the fried rice with omelette was sweet and spicy and it all came together beautifully. The breakfast burrito came highly recommended, it had eggs, poblano pepper and rice on the inside and was topped off with an aji verde sauce. The sweet potato chips on the side were delish. The steak and pasta was amazing too. The food has its roots in Peruvian cuisine and you see it in their decor too, but it's fusion rather than traditional. We got a drink which was their take on a sangria. I forget the name but it was delicious! We also got a dessert which was a deconstructed apple pie but eaten like you would eat nachos. It was delicate and decadent. The service is just lovely, the wait staff went out of their way to take care of us. Bring your date for a drink here or come here with friends, I know I'll come back for their dinner service here.
