Excellent restaurant with delicious food, good service and decent value
Had lunch at The Little Social for my friend's Birthday. On a Friday lunchtime most of the local office people whousually frequent the restaurant now work from home now so surprisingly it was only half full. However, the food was fantastic. We loved the crab salad starter and the dover sole and mussells main courses we chose were both perfect. The bread is a must, crusty sourdough straight from the oven. I am a big fan of the Pollen Street Social opposite but since their lunch set menu is now ยฃ75 excluding drinks, the Little Social will now become my lunch destination of choice... not cheap but more reasonable. The service was friendly & informative. Special commendation to Liam who was particularly delightful.

Definitely must try you wonโt be disappointed! Food 100% delivers on the flavour! The pate was delicious and burrata was creamy and scrumptious. Sourdough bread was warm and crispy. Steak -cote de boeuf for 2 - was full of flavour and the crispy onions were amazing! Service was attentive and accommodating- definitely will be going back for more 5*.
Be the first to ReplyThe bar is the best seat in the house!
We dined at Little Social on NYE. We booked the night before and knew we would be sat at the bar as it was the only table available. We booked the NYE meal which was 4 courses for ยฃ75. The best value in town! The food was delicious and included confit duck and foie gras terrine, Cornish crab salad and Cumbrian beef fillet โTourndos Rossiniโ with the sauce served by the chef himself. For dessert we had 70% dark chocolate & coffee moelleux followed by Petit Fours. Aside from the food, the barman Nikolai made our night. He was chatty, attentive and ensured we had everything we needed. It was a pleasure to spend the meal in his company. We paired our meal with glasses by the wine which were all of high quality and well priced. Weโll be back again soon!!
Be the first to ReplyExcellent Christmas supper with friends
This was our second visit to Little Social in December. The first time we had their pre-theatre menu, and this time their set Christmas menu. The food has always been excellent and their Christmas menu was of a very high standard. Well thought out dishes, prepared with precision. Good flavours and generous portions. Liam and Giovanni are great hosts, nothing is too much trouble and every effort is made to make oneโs stay as enjoyable as possible. Three of our table had to leave promptly to catch their train; despite a busy restaurant their desserts were served very quickly. Very professional and a warm welcome. Thank you.

Recent reviews should have sounded the alarm but we booked anyway. On entry we received a welcome best described as lukewarm. We asked to order drinks and after 15 minutes they arrived. Rather surprising as the place was barely half full. On the plus side the ambience is fantastic. That is the best i can offer. The starters were well received after a long wait and were very tasty. The crab was especially praised. When the main arrived, the steak was tasteless. The sausage OK, If anyone had asked how it should be cooked that wouldn't have made a difference. Medium bland is presumably similar to rare bland. I note when the plates were cleared with plenty left on them, the staff didnt ask why. Desert was OK - but no better than a Beefeater. So what is going on here? Dont know and its not my problem. I recall Atherton saying he may have to close a restaurant due to a shortage of good staff. Well, i would suggest closing this one. Shame really give the past reputation.
Be the first to ReplyDisappointing
Was really looking forward to eating dinner at Little Social, but it was really disappointing, largely due to the service. Waited ages for all three courses to arrive and for plates to be cleared in between. Wasnโt offered drinks until we asked for wine and water when the starters had arrived. No sides with the mains. Overall really poor and detracted from my amazing crab salad starter and peach sorbet.
Be the first to ReplyEmbarrassing!
I took a friend here for dinner this weekโฆwow what an experience the waitresses are falling over each other no one knows what to do. It appears all orders run through an older rude gentleman. The salmon starter was ridiculously thick and the chicken main salty and drowned in rocket. When I tried to share my feedback they couldnโt even get the salutation right. For a ยฃ200 meal AVOID tepid wine, low quality food and poor service.
Be the first to ReplyGreat spot to quality food and service
Second time visiting Little Social when in London. Fantastic service. Superb quality food. A hidden gem just off the bustling Oxford Rd / Soho area. Big thank you to chef and all staff.
Be the first to ReplyGreat Save
Had a reservation made way in advance and specifically requested for a particular table. Got there, we were shown another table. Small for 6 person. The gentleman who looks like the manager did a quick check after initially saying it was not available. And I told him about my reservation and specific request. And he was able to give us the table. Ended up having a great dinner as was entertaining friends living in London. Food is amazing. Service great. Thank you for the save with the table.

Do not spend your money in this restaurant! Little Social have such disregard for their customers that they have cancelled our booking for my husbandโs 50th birthday celebration, a booking for 16 people and despite us having paid a sizeable deposit. Their excuse was that they have decided to take a private booking for the evening. Given the past couple of years, we were looking forward to having friends and family from all over the country celebrating together. Iโm afraid that an offer to move it to another date simply doesnโt cut it when people already have plans made and travel booked. We did not even receive the courtesy of a call but instead a bland and insincere email demonstrating how little they understood. Given this is part of Jason Athertonโs group of restaurants I am even more surprised about the terrible way in which we have been dealt with here. We will never set foot in another one of his restaurants.
Be the first to ReplyClose but far. A little antisocial.
This could easily be a five star. Itโs a lovely ambience, nicely furnished and has cool little booths. The food, to me, was delicious. It was on the salty side as some others have said, but that suits me and I really enjoyed it. We had a small Caesar, bruschetta then lobster salad main and Dover sole. Each dish was a treat. So whereโs that fifth star? The downsides were: it was a bit hot and stuffy in there. The atmosphere should be better controlled. The food was slow, with about 20 minutes for each course. It was good when it arrived though. however, by far the most disappointing aspect was the service. The waitress barely cracked a smile all the time and really did not appear to want to be there. I donโt know how sheโs treated or who is to blame for this but it spoiled our meal to a degree. It felt like we were trying to coax a smile out of a petulant teenager. And then somehow paying nearly ยฃ20 service charge for the privilege. Why has no manager spotted this? More than anything, this last issue would stop me going back. It was ยฃ170 for two people. Sadly thereโs better for that price, even in Mayfair.
Be the first to ReplyNice food but poor value all in
Good food but experience tarnished by up selling by waiting staff. 5 for lunch and served four 1 litre bottles of water at ยฃ10 each. Was quite annoying that opened at the same time so we needed to pay. Delivered more bread than ordered as well. I wonโt bother going back out of principle
Be the first to ReplyWay too salty
It is my fourth time at this restaurant and on previous occasions I always enjoyed it thoroughly. This time however, the food was salty, making the dishes barely edible. Reading other reviews, it seems I am not the only one to think this.
Be the first to ReplyTo take with a pinch of salt
Been there with my wife following the recommendation of one of my friend. What a disappointment. On the good side, the staff and service was flawless but the food was definitely wait too salty. It tasted as if the chef had decided to double or triple the amount of salt needed. Even the green salad was full of salt. Would the bill been on the low side, that could have been acceptable but for a +170ยฃ bill for a monkfish plus a steak. No way. Maybe it was a bad day for the chef but we will definitely not be back
Be the first to ReplyAwful. No redeeming qualities
Awful. No redeeming qualities for food or service. Worst meal we had in London and it was 250 pounds to boot.
Be the first to ReplyLittle sister to Pollen Street but just as amazing
Great vibe, lovely setting. Food was really good and great value for the quality
Relaxed atmosphere and staff really courteous and accommodating
Very Disappointing
We went on a Friday evening for my friend's birthday. We were excited for a special experience. The restaurant had been informed beforehand about the birthday and the waitress did say 'happy birthday' on arrival but there was nothing else. There was only 4 of us but they got my friend's (who's birthday it was) order wrong so she sent it back and the correct item then took 5-10 minutes longer to arrive by which point everyone else had finished.
We were seated at the window table right next to the main front door. All evening long, drunk people came in from the street and were allowed to use the toilets. Staff came and went from this restaurant to the main one across the street around 20+ times constantly walking past, cold air blowing at us from outside and general disturbance - not relaxing!
The menu - selection was good apart from there only being one vegetarian option - pretty poor in 2022 London. Also, who serves mushroom risotto on a plate? Yet my friend's steak came in a pasta bowl!
I thought it was very overpriced for what it was. Wine was incredibly expensive ยฃ20 for a 175ml wine and soda? Out of the 3 staff we had, 1 was lovely but the other 2 were utterly miserable! No smiles, no help, clearly hated every second there.
Drinks and food took longer than expected. No one came to check everything was OK not at any of the 3 courses. Empty plates left there in front of us.
They did not take our coats.
Overall, very disappointing. Our bill came to the best part of ยฃ400. Nothing was knocked off for the mistake with the food or delays. High service charged added on too automatically. Wish we had gone elsewhere.
Overpriced restaurant for the food they serve. Nothing special.
Cosy restaurant, very noisy. Service could be better. They did not take our coats. The forgot to bring drinks. You are obliged to take two courses. Even my daughter, while there was no children menu. The prices of the wine where very high. The food disappointing, not special for the price you pay. The starters where good. But the main courses simple.
Be the first to ReplyFabulous lunch spot
I came here for a business lunch with two colleagues and left planning future visits with friends. It's not a big place but well laid out with booths as well as tables and a pretty bar along one side. The food was excellent, with lots to choose from menu wise. A particular highlight for me was the cured salmon starter, light and fresh with plenty of zing. The service was unhurried but attentive and I am sure had we been in a rush the team would have speeded things up but as it was, we had plenty of time to think about desserts after the main course, which worked really well for us. I have already booked a return trip.
Be the first to ReplyTop eve great staff
Excellent service food and staff at this little gem of a spot! Best burger in london. And exceptional cocktails at the flagship pollen st for desert if you fancy a drink after. Def worth a visit!

Totally faultless - food, service and atmosphere. Really enjoyable lunch, high quality stylish cooking with great menu choices.

The food here is of the highest quality. It is constantly busy and I am grateful for the advice to reserve a table. It was a memorable lunch. It's not cheap but the experience and the food were first class. The only thing that perhaps lets it down is the cramped nature of the seating when you have a table along the wall.

We had a reservation for 1730 as we needed an early meal and although for about the first 45 minutes we were the only diners there the staff could not have made us feel more welcome. This is a first class restaurant with first class food. The service was spot on, extremely friendly whilst still professional. We would certainly recommend Little Social and look forward to another visit here very soon.
Be the first to ReplyA Shame
We have eaten here previously and had a perfectly pleasant meal good service and subsequently have bought vouchers for our nephews and their wives to enjoy the experience. Weโve never faulted the good service but this evening was a totally different experience.
We arrived and we knew that we were seated at the bar which due to the last minute reservation we were happy with. But from there the service just felt totally below par, our coats werenโt taken from us into the cloakroom, we ordered which was fine but we werenโt given napkins and we had to ask for the wine weโd ordered which arrived 40 minutes afterward.
The food was delicious and canโt be faulted, but we had to again ask for cutlery for the dessert.
Itโs a sum of small things that created a larger disappointment to the whole evening, I expected better and have received better from this establishment and Iโm just sad to say that it had a negative effect on the whole evening.
Iโm not sure weโll be back or recommend to family or friends.
Fantastic food and equally great service to boot
Went for my birthday with my partner and from the moment I arrived to when we left the service was fantastic. The food was equally impressive. Overall, a thoroughly enjoyable experience. I will definitely be back.
