I eat primarily certified organic food, and could tell that
I eat primarily certified organic food, and could tell that what I ordered wasn't organic, therefore the tastes were way off for me. Great atmosphere, though, and very nice service. I recommend going all organic and advertising as such. People will be willing to pay the extra $5 to$7 a plate for delicious, invigorating food.

Waited 10 minutes (inside was empty) at an outdoor table for anyone to acknowledge us. Finally got menus from server, he didn't ask for drink order, and he never came back. Once he started taking orders of people who came in after us, we left.

We had been looking forward to coming here since we arrived at the beach but ended up disappointed. The food was good and the daily special we selected was a great deal but the service ruined the experience. The waitress was just plain rude. If your customers leave feeling bad, it's not a good experience.

Wait time for a cup of coffee 30 minutes, 20 minutes for cutlery , no refills on coffee, food is awful !! Over cooked all the way . They also allow dogs to sit on tables !!
Be the first to ReplyNice spot to eat with a dog.
Our service was a bit slow but supper friendly. Definitely a beachside cafe..low key atmosphere. Lots of meal options from breakfast to dinner.
Be the first to ReplyWaited for 35 minutes before being acknowledged.
Several tables were looking around for service. We finally left. Maybe it's good, but they are totally disorganized. Go only if the place is empty.
Be the first to ReplyFood is good.
People who work there and some locals who go there are terrible. Rude and disrespectful to tourists. Owner is never there.....no one to complain to
Be the first to ReplySmall, local owned place.
We used to come here all the time when it was just FA Cafe. The current owner has kept the charm of the location while updating to a fresh beach vibe. The menu includes the traditional beach hut food with some fun additions in the Philippine category (the owner's heritage). We had an amazing breakfast that was SO good and fresh. Don't come if you are in a hurry. This is island time. Sit back, relax, and enjoy the company around you.

Do take out. Service was horrible. Too many tables and not enough staff but when they did come they were NOT happy bout it. Mimosa are $4.50 and coffee 2.50. Most breakfasts weee $13 and super good. We got drinks, hobo skillet and gravy was to die for. Kids got pancakes and wow. Super good! Just that service. Not even worth it.

I don't get here often, but over the years I have consistently had great food & service. I love the small beachy dive bar atmosphere and the genuinely friendly service. All my meals have been great. Today was the first day kids returned to school so I was hoping it wouldn't be too crowded (it is SMALL & currently too HOT to sit outside) & I really craved the Thursday special of blueberry pancakes & bacon. There were SO MANY blueberries, bacon was perfectly crisp & coffee was strong. The best part about not being crowded is all 3 servers waited on me -- coffee refills & extra syrup for the win! About 11am the Moms newly-free-from-kids gathered for wine. A special testament to the friendly atmosphere is that FA is under new ownership with the same decor, and was purchased by one of the servers. This time I'll get my card fully punched before I forget where I put it!!

The only reason the service was bad when I went was it was 1 person doing table service and bartender. The place is small but lively. I'm extending mercy on service, it's hard for 1 person to play the drums and serve drinks at the same time. The shrimp and grits had its own unique taste. It was so good, the extra crab meat was full of flavor. Don't let the look discourage you, it is definitely setting itself apart from others in the area. That's a good thing. It is a small intimate place, i will say definitely "dive bar" atmosphere. Definitely a great place for watching sporting events and conversation with new and old friends.

Went here for lunch one day after going to the beach and the service was very good. Beer was nice and traditional Filipino dishes hit the spot. Went back with my wife for dinner on a Tuesday night and the beer I wanted was no longer available took almost 30 minutes just to get a drink And the crowd there likes to stand outside the restaurant and smoke cigarettes constantly. So if you're sitting outside, enjoying the beach, you're just breathing, cigarette smoke the whole time from all the drunk old man who like to smoke cigarettes right outside the door not only that, but they want to come over and engage in conversation when they can barely stand up, it's just annoying and rude. Most restaurants have laws where you cannot smoke within a certain amount of feet of the restaurant. I wouldn't expect the employees here to force this as there is only one cook and one waitress who is also the bartender, and the place was very busy. I was excited to go back, but very disappointed in the lack of service and crowd who apparently thinks they own the place just because they go there and get drunk every day and nothing wrong with getting drunk but you don't get to go around to every table and start up random conversations with people just cause you're lonely
Be the first to ReplyWe pulled off the highway to check out St.
Augustine and the beach while on a road trip. We thought we'd have lunch and then just take the long way back to the highway. The first place we picked was very close to this place but had crowds waiting outside. We didn't have that much time. So we checked the reviews for Margie's and stepped inside. Honestly we all wish we'd waited and just gone to Mellow Mushroom, which we saw on the way out.... The food was barely warm, small, and didn't taste that great. I ordered a fish sandwich which provided what seemed to be a selection from a box of frozen fish sticks, slapped on a thick, bready bun. The fries are not cut fresh - more frozen box fries is what it tasted like to me. For $15. Skip this place and just dig deeper in your freezer - you'll come out ahead. We were very confused given all the positive reviews...our 2 stars is being generous.

Loved this place! We stayed right by it and had a couple of breakfasts and lunches there. Did a combination of carry out and dine in. Great breakfast. Biscuits were excellent. Loved the fried plantains! Coconut Shrimp was a family favorite and well as the Chicken Nachos. Great service!
Be the first to ReplyDefinitely try this place when staying in St Augustine.
HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! We stayed in an Airbnb nearby Little Margie's, and accidentally found that they offered beer and wine with good price during happy hour (even the original price is reasonable comparing to other bars). We ordered wings, nachos, oysters, and 3+ rounds of drinks. Foods are all fresh and delicious with a range of draft beers. They surprisingly matched the number of wings with the number of people in our group. It was 8 on the menu but we got 10 in total so each of us got 2 wings. There are many lovely surprises like this so how can you not love this place.

What a great place ! I went and not expecting much, and I was pleasantly surprised. The service was fast, courteous, and just fun. I sat at the bar and spoke to a local, who obviously comes him all the time and ordered what he had. Banana, pancake, eggs, and sausage. Absolutely great thank you very much for the awesome service and food.
Be the first to ReplySuper slow.
Just waited for 1 hour with a toddler for our food, still never came so we left. 1 hour wait for food. Kid was crying he was so hungry after 1 hour of waiting. There were only like 4 other people in the restaurant. Wanted to support this place, but what takes them so long to cook breakfast food??

We searched out a place just like this- cute little locally owned and operated hole in the wall by the beach. That part did not disappoint! Service was friendly, atmosphere was relaxed and very laid back- perfect for the beach. The food though was a disappointment. Not a single grain of salt or pepper on either dish. Very bland and flavorless. The shrimp and grits consisted of large, cold shrimp with red seasoning sprinkled on top, and a bowl of grits with raw onions and peppers on the side. Deconstructed? Not sure. Very weird. Eggs bennie with potatoes was okay; again, no salt or pepper and very bland. Potatoes were undercooked. Atmosphere: 5/5Food: 2/5

Awesome Breakfast!!! (and not homeless people like the Old City)We eat here just about EVERY Saturday After we go to the Farmers Market at the Amphitheater. Basically ANY pancake or Egg based breakfast item you choose is "da-bomb" PLUS don't miss the "buckets".
Be the first to ReplyGreat service.
Cute place. Tasty food. A cute beachy vibe Will be back. Had the sea shore scramble. Yum.
Be the first to ReplySo today's my birthday and instead of going somewhere
So today's my birthday and instead of going somewhere fancy, we left it to fate. We got in the car and took a leisurely ride down A1A towards St Augustine and gawked at the beachside three-story mansions. We passed through the touristy areas and ended up at a dive spot called Little Margie's FA Cafe. It serves a fairly standard menu of breakfast items, tacos, sandwiches, salads, etc. However, Margie is Filipino, so there's a little corner of the menu with Filipino staples; lumpia, pancit, and adobo.I got an order of lumpia and chicken adobo. The lumpia was filled seasoned ground pork wrapped and deep-fried. Crispy and delicious. In classical music, there's something called a "theme and variation." Variation is a formal technique where material is repeated in an altered form. The changes may involve melody, rhythm, harmony, counterpoint, timbre, orchestration or any combination of these.Filipino adobo is like classical music. The basic ingredient "themes" is chicken (or pork), soy sauce, garlic, pepper, vinegar, and bay leaves. Beyond that, you can create "variations." Some add honey for a bit of sweetness. Some use coconut vinegar instead of white. Margie's variation is very ginger forward. And it was great! Something I would copy in my own cooking. It was a great start to a birthday foodie weekend!
