Our Favorite Bar in the World
This has been our favorite bar since we first went years ago. A strong art deco meets Cuba vibe. Great drinks. The bartenders are always the best - well trained mixologists who take time to talk to you. We hadn't been there in a couple years, yet Larry recognized us and made great drinks while showing us how to make a proper garnish. Then he even let me try (mine is obvious compared to his if you look at the pics). Thanks again!
Be the first to ReplyCharming spot for a crafted cocktail.
The Champagne Bar is located at the Four Seasons Hotel. The entry of the hotel is subtle, the public spaces are wonderful art deco and this portion of the hotel has been preserved. It appeared that the hotel was expended with a more modern aesthetic. The Surf Club is also an art deco decore. We elected to be served on the deck overlooking the garden and the water. It was a beautiful place to take some time and enjoy. The cocktails were all crafted and unique to the Surf Club. Sorry can't remember the name of the cocktail I choose but it was presented in a cigar box which when opened had smoke and a silver flask so the liquid would be poured into a glass with a large square ice cube. Inside the box were also dominos. So not only a great presentation, but a well crafted cocktail that I doubt I will see on another menu.

On our last night in Miami , my business colleagues and I wanted to finish off the night here but unfortunately a lady bartender gave us a very nasty attitude and completely ruined the night.

The Lido restaurant served decent food, but didn't leave much of an impression on us. We ordered the pasta with fresh black truffles, but the execution was poor: the pasta was too salty so we had to return the two orders. Overall, while the food was satisfactory, there wasn't anything remarkable about the dining experience.
Be the first to ReplyHigh quality food with mediocre flavor.
Only several months ago, Lido/Surf Club/the Champagne Bar at The Four Seasons in Surfside used to be one of our three favorite restaurants in the Miami area. The food used to be of high quality, delicious, and special. We always said that if Michelin stars were given in Florida, Lido would have one star. That was under chef Antonio Mermolia.
Unfortunately, under the new chef, Michael White, the food is now mediocre. Although of high quality, all dishes lack spark, creativity, and are simply not special. No “wow” factor whatsoever. What is funny is that the bland waitress who served the seven of us our bland appetizers, main courses, and desserts said to us, “we are trying to clean up the menu because Michelin inspectors will be in Florida. We are hoping for a Michelin star.” I laughed inside of me! This restaurant is FAR AWAY FROM MICHELIN STAR LEVEL. As I said before, the food is of high quality but a Michelin star I see impossible, and if it were given, it would be a slap in the face for true great restaurants in the Miami area like Uchi, NAOE, and TUR Kitchen to name some that do deserve a star.
Not impressed
The location and historical feel of this place is GREAT but the service and overall experience was not up to par at all. We were excited to visit this beautiful property to enjoy a yummy drink one afternoon before our dinner reservations but our server was dismissive and got our order wrong. We never saw her again. Mixed reviews on the drinks too - one was great but the others were watery and flavorless. Too bad because it's a beautiful location! (Oh and they validate for a small portion, but parking still cost us $25 just for drinks which seemed excessive.)

Since the hotel’s opening we’ve enjoyed several meals here from breakfast while we were hotel guests to driving roughly 1 hour to have lunch here even when we were not hotel guests. There is a gentleman from France who Recognize us and always gives us above and beyond excellent service. We love the Italian leaning menu and their pizza and linguine with clam’s are to die for. I used to ask for them for lunch even though they are only on the dinner menu and when possible they would accommodate me, thank you so much for the kitchen! Always a treat to come here for lunch or any meal while we’re staying at the hotel. Highly recommend it, even considering the commute, to enjoy the beautiful space overlooking the pool and Ocean further out in the distance.

We came in and got seated immediately. Unfortunately the waiters did not seem to care about our table. It took them over 15 min to just bring the water, once we tried to flag down the waiter multiple times, they blew us off and did not even come to our table.
We had enough and just stood up and left, It was not worth the wait to have bad attitude.
Thank you but that place has really gone down, I used to go there a lot when it was La Sirenuese.
I am also local and its sad that such a beautiful place has gone down.
It should also stand to the same principles that the Four Seasons Brand carry's as a Hotel (Costumer Service).
Beautiful
Beautiful cocktails served in a spectacular atmosphere by the most friendly, sincere staff. Try the Negroni.

This is the place to be...gorgeous terrace where we took all our meals. Service was impeccable. Food delicious. Yep its not cheap, but the view, the calm and the food quality make it worth it.

On a recent trip to Miami, my wife and I stopped by the Four Seasons Surfside to have drinks and snacks at the Champagne Bar, and it was a lovely experience. We’ve been wanting to visit this Four Seasons, so it was a nice chance to have a relaxed evening in a pretty, art deco setting in a historic portion of the hotel.
The Champagne Bar is adjacent to the Lido Restaurant, and prior to our visit, I saw that reservations were available on OpenTable for the “Lido Restaurant and Champagne Bar at the Surf Club”. Not knowing how busy it would be on a Saturday night, I figured I’d make a reservation in advance. When booking a table, it didn’t allow me to select where I’d want our table to be (bar, restaurant, or the restaurant’s outdoor terrace), but I made a note on the reservation that we wanted a table in the Champagne Bar. However, that day, just before our visit, I got a voicemail from the restaurant explaining that seating for the bar is actually first-come, first-served, and that we couldn’t actually reserve a table at the Champagne Bar. This was no big deal, although the listing on OpenTable implied the opposite.
When we arrived that evening, there were people in the bar, but it wasn’t full, so we were able to get a table with no problem. However, when we checked in with the hostess, I mentioned that we had made a reservation, and asked if she could cancel it for us without having to pay the no-show fee (which she was happy to do). She again went over the whole thing about the bar being first-come, first-served. It felt like it would have simply been easier to honor the reservation and seat us where we wanted without the phone call and explanation when we arrived. Either way, the table we wanted was available! I did see that the restaurant’s name on OpenTable has been changed since then to just read “Lido Restaurant at the Surf Club”, which will alleviate the confusion I had.
The Champagne Bar itself is absolutely lovely, harkening back to a bygone era of the Surf Club, with an art deco décor, large palm trees, and cozy seating areas for guests. It’s quiet, but classy, with a beautiful ambiance we loved. Service was also excellent throughout the evening. The various servers were attentive and stopped by frequently to check on us. It was certainly at the level of service we’ve come to expect at Four Seasons hotels.
Regarding drinks, I think the venue’s name is a bit of a misnomer, since there were very few champagnes offered, at least by the glass. There were only two actual champagnes by the glass, along with one prosecco and one cava. I believe they advertise themselves as having the largest collection of champagnes by the bottle in Miami, but I would prefer to see a lot more options by the glass, including champagne flights, since that would be a fun way to try new champagnes without having to commit to an entire bottle. Instead of having champagne, we tried some cocktails, and I thought their negroni and the Air Mail from Italy cocktail were both excellent, well-made drinks.
We also tried a few of the food items, including the oysters, the caprese salad, and the pomodoro pasta. All of the food was really good and just tasted fresh and well prepared. The upside-down peanut butter cheese dessert was also a highlight.
Our experience at the Champagne Bar was excellent, and we would definitely return in the future. It’s a more refined place to get drinks than most other options in Miami Beach, which we appreciated. It also helped that the service, drinks, and food were all excellent.
Best of the best!
This is possibly the most beautiful restaurant I’ve ever eaten in. And the food, omg. So you think pizza is just pizza? Try their pizza. I have no idea what it is but it’s the most incredible thing I’ve tasted this year. It’s AMAZING! And the peanut butter cheesecake is mind blowing. It’s all very very good! The service is spectacular too. I can’t wait to eat here again.
