Quite a wonderful experience
I have been to many Michelin star restaurants around the world and this one is among the top. From an understated entrance to a friendly welcome to nicely appointed decor this place sets high expectations which are quickly met. Because it was lunch, we chose the 6 course tasting menu with no alcohol, selecting a fruit juice instead. Each plate was an experience. Food was beautifully presented and described with lots of details by our server who was available to our beck and call. Black gloved hands served and picked up our dishes and silverware (changed for every course). We really enjoyed the use of local products and explanations of their source. Compliments to owner chef and daughter for an exquisitely run restaurant.

I will spare the details; but my wife and I had dinner at Leo’s a few nights ago. After dinner, while waiting for our Uber, we were set up to be robbed. At least one restaurant employee put us in a vehicle that was not our Uber. Leo’s has apologized, and called our experience “terrible” and “horrific”. But they also promised an investigation days ago. They should have video and I provided information as well. The lack of response has us suspicious. When Leo’s satisfactorily responds to our request for an outcome, I will delete this review. Until then, I have posted the screenshots

Wow is all I can say. My experience here started a little rocky, and I’m not normally a person to complain at restaurants, but I happened to say something to someone who I thought was one of the bar tenders, who from that point on took such great care of me, giving me more food and drink than I could have imagined. Turns out she was the daughter of the chef, and all I can say is this: the class and grace with which they treated me is unparalleled to any experience I have ever had, not to mention the food and the drinks were absolutely superb. I ate nearly every bite and drank every drop of everything they put in front of me. What an awesome way to end my last night in Bogota, when I return in September I will be bringing with me a large group of friends. Run, don’t walk to the best restaurant in all of Bogota!

So, having just seen The Menu, I was a bit taken aback walking into this dining room - vast, far spaced tables, minimal decoration! However this evening was a delight, an exploration and above all delicious. Staff is exceedingly formal as is the presentation of everything, but they are engaging when you open the door for them to be so. You will eat things you never imagined in ways you never imagined. The highlight of the meal for me was the salted caramel dessert made from the gelatin of a cow's hoof - wonderfully sweet and salty but with a definite beef undertone - blew my mind! Accompanying drinks were well conceived - from wine to in-house infused vermouth to chicha. Astronomically expensive from a Bogota standard but not more than a good night out in Toronto. Just WOW!

5 of us having special meal for our last night in Columbia after 5 weeks touring Sth America. The building inside is really nice, trendy as expected. main waiter was very good, lots of explaining of the truly minuscule taster plate coming one at a time, 3 waiters to the table being very theatrical, down to black gloves and tweezers! But the worse degustation meal I have ever had, and the bill!! $3,243,834 COP. Just didn’t want to spoil our last night complaining. But if you know food and when it is complex, stay well away

Excellent tasty food and non alcoholic beverages and excellent service in English language. My only complaint during the evening was that you can hear the live music from upstairs mixed with the music in the main floor dining room. I asked for them to turn off the dining room music as it was a cacophony of chaos. Sometimes it seemed as though the servers might forget to explain the new beverage for the new course of food but they would eventually come by and explain. So you may need to have a little patience as the food and beverage pairings do not arrive simultaneously but that is a small thing to quibble about.

My partner and I enjoyed the 8-course tasting menu to wrap-up our 2.5 week tour of Colombia, by far one of the best meals we've had anywhere. The fusion of Colombian elements in an intensely elevated fusion of flavour that was equally beautiful to look at as on the palate. 12/10

From start to finish this experience was amazing! From being seated promptly, to the service staff being super organized, friendly and attentive to the amazing food & the beautiful space - this is definitely an experience and restaurant I would highly recommend. Our server, Jay, was amazing and very informative about all of the dishes that were served. We got the 13 course with the alcohol pairing & they do not cheat you out of the the drinks. We also got a special visit from Laura to explain one of our drinks!! 😍 Yes, this is going to be one of the more expensive meals that you’ll have, but it’s worth it. 10/10 would come back and recommend to anyone. Thanks for an amazing evening!!

There is plenty of restaurants in the top50 list that are not necessarily overpriced. The service is great, beautiful setting, but for my own personal taste the menu was too exotic and the flavors sometimes overwhelming. Highly suggest you check the menu options before making a reservation. I am sure I would have had a much better experience at Laura’s room than I did at Leo’s.
Be the first to ReplyA superb culinary adventure into Colombian cuisine!
I was attracted to this restaurant due to their deep commitment to showcase the best ingredients of every region in Colombia. They do not disappoint at all. I’m typically underwhelmed by the wine pairings at any restaurant but in this case I followed their advice and I was positively surprised. Every drink complimented each dish perfectly. I suggest that you trust their advice on this. The food is superbly executed all around, in favors, textures and presentation. The first two set of dishes will blow your mind. The service is impeccable and knowledgeable, they explain every dish in detail from the cooking process to the origin of the ingredients. It felt like taking a culinary class. As you can imagine this is the top restaurant in Bogota and is appraised by locals and visitors so plan ahead and make a reservation.

After reading the web reviews, we decided to try this restaurant. Booked a 10 course experience with non-alcoholic drinks. Very diverse dishes, all with local ingredients spanning the country. Service was excellent, food was just as amazing in taste as it was in presentation. Nothing disappoints if you are open to new experience. A must try. Very cozy and simply amazing!!!

We flew in from New York City to visit Leo. We were very excited and had booked our reservation weeks in advance. Once we arrived we were told we couldn’t go inside because we didn’t match the dress code. We read the dress code throughly it states no sandals or shorts. My partner and I both had jeans, nice shirts, and he had an arc’teryx rain jacket on (it was forecasted to rain), and a hat on (which he obviously would take off if asked). They gave us 30 min to go and change (their suggestion for my partner was to wear “tighter” jeans and get rid of the jacket) but unfortunately our hotel was 20 min away in a taxi and we wouldn’t make it back in time. The staffs tone was also sadly very condescending (not a language barrier assumption as I spoke to them in Spanish). We then saw a man enter the restaurant with his wife he was wearing a track jacket, jeans, and running shoes yet was allowed inside. We have visited 5+ restaurants from the worlds top 50 and have never experienced such disappointment.

Having read about Leo as it made the Top 50 restaurants on the planet list, we wanted to make it a highlight of our Colombia trip and celebrate our anniversary at this staple.
The host was gracious in seating us at one of the 12 or so tables in front of the chef; this made us even more excited. We got the 8 course tasting menu with non-alcoholic pairing and were ready to go!
The staff was incredibly hospitable and the interior was impressive, but then, the first course came in. I had the misfortune of throwing up in my mouth after having the first taste of the first course; it was bad. However, I planned to go on the second course with more of an adventurous mind. Then, in the second course, we got ANTS on cheese (call me ignorant but I refused to touch it).
The third course was edible and then I was told we would have duck coming next; it was beyond raw. I enjoy my fair share of duck but this duck was breathing (bad joke). We continued having a sip of the drinks that came with every course but a sip was all one could have.
At this point, I wanted to leave but the occasion did not call for that so we continued. The next course which had lamb was a game changer as I began eating in course 6, course 7 was dessert which we thoroughly enjoyed and 8 was a coffee experience which was pretty neat.
In conclusion, I have eaten at quite a few Michelin star places and loved them; this was the opposite. Since mid-evil torture is banned, I would send your worst enemy here for the food; that should suffice as torture. At $100 per person in Colombia where $20 buys you incredible food, this was incredibly overpriced.
Lastly, and once again, the staff, service and presentation was possibly the best I have seen ever but the food (which is what we intended to eat was inedible). Tread carefully.
