Great food, seafood from the Belgian coast.
Vismet is a West Flemish colloquial way of saying fish market, which St Catherine obviously was. The owner and chef is from the West Flemish coast.

Try royale dorade tartar, great if you like coriander which is the main spice. next was a bare de ligne (seebass), really great. perfectly cooked and without any bones. bread was really great. vine okay but quite high priced for the quality. service very attentive and friendly.

When we first started coming to Europe regularly I though people who ordered the plat du jour were idiots - why would you get the one thing when you could choose from the menu?I have since learned ... these guys do a lunch that's a little on the spendy side, 22 EUR, with a set starter and main. Ours was:- House-cured gravlax, with a dill sauce- Dorade, crispy on top, with orange and grapefruitZinnebier on draft.Sidewalk seating is on a really cool square just off the Place Ste Catherine. Service is friendly and fast for Belgium.

Very attentive and helpful service. Strongly recommend ......

Try the royal dorade tartare! We liked it better than the famous salmon tartare. We got an assiette of seafood, of which the highlight was the 1/2 crab. It was meaty, fresh, and delicious! Service is a bit spotty but within the norm of Belgium.

I went for lunch and they were having lunch specials, but I chose to stick with the original menu items. Service was friendly and attentive. My Flemish/French is limited, so they were nice and translated some of the daily specials for me. Menus are both in English and in French/Flemish. Fish was fresh. I had the seafood soup (skip, it's just tomato sauce, broth and tiny pieces of crab meat) and the salmon tartare - it was deliciously buttery and would strongly recommend it. Wasn't too sure on how to use the side of mayonnaise, pickles and herbs, but I figured it out somehow. They did mess up my bill and charged me EUR71 instead of EUR50, luckily I caught it as I was leaving. Overall, a pleasant experience.

Has an elegant atmosphere and stylish waiters. The menu is limited but every item is well chosen and delicately prepared. Everything is very tasty. Strongly recommend this place for those seeking for extraordinary seafood.
Be the first to ReplyOne of my all time favourite restos is Brussels.
Excellent service every time. My favourite is the crab/avocado/grapefruit salad - to die for!!! I have never been disappointed here - quite the contrary I leave the Resto each time having eaten fantastic food & such a pleasant experience. It isn't cheap, but honestly it's worth every euro! Here the balance is perfect great food & great staff - nothing to fault 10 out of 10! Please don't change
Be the first to ReplyService: typical European "service" which is not great.
They forgot our order which is typically okay for a cheaper restaurant but not for this. Food: Their free appetizers were good. The main dishes were lacking.

Randomly walked into this locally owned restaurant and decided to have lunch. Service's good, food's fresh and delicious- specializing in seafood. I believe this place mainly caters to locals, I believe my table was the only foreigners having lunch. The mussels were sweet and fresh- the tartare salmon with caviar was perfection- both of our fish entrees were perfectly prepared and delicious. The dining room's very basic but has a rustic charm- with exposed kitchen.
