First impression was great- very authentic French bistro restaurant but very disappointing.
Place looks great but unfortunately we left unimpressed. The wine list was so big and the tables so small it was impossible to read without elbowing the people on the next table. This in itself would be fine but then the food was so overpriced it left us feeling underwhelmed. The wine we chose was like vinegar and the Ribeye steak for 2 was fine but at 140 euros should have been amazing. Wonโt go back and would not recommend. P. S I rarely write reviews but felt compelled to save other tourists !!

Best meal of our trip! The food was wonderful and service was attentive and friendly. We need the recipe for the warm lentil salad to try to make it at home. But there is no way it will be a good. The tarte lโorange was wonderful along with the sorbet.
Be the first to ReplyMost Disappointing Experience in Paris
The most disappointing experience in Paris. My wife and I had good dinner, then asked Benoit, the owner, for a digestive recommendation, which he suggested Benedictine, without telling us the cost and we unfortunately did not ask. When we got the check, he charged us 164 euros for the two digestives on a 295 dinner, which included two glasses of Pol Roger champagne and a bottle of Domaine Charvin Chateauneuf-du-Pape. He is not trustworthy person, he is a thief. Do not support his business. This has been the most disappointing experience in France and we have visited a lot, four time in the last year.

One of the best restaurants in Paris without doubt. We have been many times to enjoy the wonderful food, wines and service and owner Benoit always gives us a warm welcome.

I visit this traditional restaurant in all states. I am a business traveler. I have arrived with jet lag, with friends, with my partner. Usually during Fashion week. The wine list is extensive, and aims to please all budgets. Traditional french fare. Exceptional service. In warmer months, the outside terrasse is romantic, with the sunset at the end of the street. 5/5 for the food, service and ambiance. Don't forget to order a green salad!

At the recommendation of our concierge, we dined here during a recent 8-day stay in Paris. We were the only tourists which speaks well of the authenticity of this corner restaurant. The wait staff are very professional yet friendly, engaged and eager to make your visit pleasant. The wine list is a BOOK, so if you're a wine connoisseur, bring your Platinum AMEX card. We had the daily special (deer fillet) which was an outstanding meal, beautifully prepared and presented. The meal was 5-star, but I'm holding back 1 star because of the higher-than-usual prices. Dinner for two with a modest bottle of wine was over 200 euro. Would I dine here again? Absolutely!

What a quaint place. It was so cozy and the service was outstanding. Their food is top quality. Our daughter had steak tartare and she said it was absolutely amazing. My husband had veal and I had Steak Hache. The appetizers were wonderful. The scallops with Foie gras was wonderful. The cheese dish and poached pear was so good. Try Ratafia Henri Giraud drink with your cheese. They pairs so beautiful. Canโt wait to go back.
Be the first to Replyexcellent service but food is disappointing
we read generally good reviews about Le Bon Georges and were excited to have dinner there. this is my sixth trip to paris over many years. We really liked the staff which is very courteous and eager with not a hint of condescension; just a professional, helpful approach to service. the food however is far below the many 4 star and higher ratings. haricots blanc salad - none of that typical fresh french salad flavor. pork filet was 40% fat and did not have the expected delicious pork flavor. special beef dish - a hamburger which was properly described before we ordered so no criticism there - was also not really tasty. wines by the glass are nothing to be excited about either. fries were delicious. bread was excellent. prices were toward the high end of where they should be for food of this quality. the crowd was 80% english speaking; apparently lots of tourists. didnt hear much french spoken by our fellow diners. I prefer to write positive reviews to support the entrepreneurs who work hard to run restaurants but unfortunately, this is not a restaurant i cannot recommend.

Having reserved an outdoor table for 7:30 PM over a month ahead, I was taken back to have the host say it wasn't available. I whipped out the email confirmation and he offered us an indoor table. When I told him I'd booked ahead as we were avoiding that for health reasons, he had a hissy fit, prancing around and yelling that I'd raised my voice. He then did a surprising reversal and sat us outside. Perhaps half the tables were empty and remained so for most of the time we were there. The the food didn't compare to what we'd had at other bistros we'd enjoyed during our frequent trips to Paris. I emailed the owner to make him aware of what happened. He called, telling me in summer outdoor tables are reserved well in advance, failing to apologize or address waiving the cost of our meal, as I'd suggested. As for the empty tables, he claimed the customers came later than expected (all 10 tables?). After reflecting on what he'd said, I wrote to ask why he'd confirmed the reservation if they were already booked and to tell him it didn't seem credible that ten tables would arrive over an hour late. I invited him to give me more convincing explanations, but got no response. He routinely lashes out at anyone who writes a negative review, demonstrating that the host isn't the only one at this place who can't control his anger. To be fair, the setting, waitress and website were lovely.

Went here after a recommendation from a friend and everything was amazing. We had the tuna- delicious. The hericots verts also delicious - the tartare was the best I ever had - extremely fresh and amazing quality meat. The chocolate tart was on of the best deserts I ever had (if you are a chocolate lover this is a must!) The Chapitre wine was also a favorite - if you are a fan of a good pinot noir, try this! Service was great, I see there are some negative reviews on that but that was not our experience.
Be the first to ReplyGood food and atmosphere. Poor service. Waiter also overcharged us
We had a fun lunch. Food was good, charcuterie and the boeuf legit. Atmosphere very nice. Shame about the service which was sub-par for a top restaurant and also the waiter tried to overcharge us adding extra items to the bill - beware!
Be the first to ReplyBad-mannered waiter and attempt to cheat us with the bill
We had great expectations before visiting this restaurant, but ended up very disappointed. After being laughed at by the waiter when we chose the least expensive main course he spilled some wine without doing anything about it. When we payed they tried to charge us for two bottles of wine instead of one. The meal was just like an ordinary burger you can get at McDonalds, Burger King etc. I have to admit that the french fries were quite tasty. :)

We thoroughly enjoyed our dinner at Le Bon Georges. The dinner was expertly prepared. The wine list was very extensive. The deserts were wonderful and the staff was fun and engaging. This is a very cute French bistrot that is worth the visit.
Be the first to ReplyGreat service and setting
My second time at this restaurant and really enjoyed it. The service and restaurant itself are both wonderful. The menu is nice but can be expensive, and their wine list which is very extensive and impressive, is also very expensive. We ordered by the glass. I do not know that I will return again but it is worth a visit at least one.

A great meal in an authentic bistro experience. Lovely flavors and textures in carefully prepared food. Enormous wine list. The gnocchi with snails and mushrooms was amazing and the trout was fabulous! Great meal.

Great atmosphere, cheerful staff, fabulous food. Had the trout which was perfect. The chef arranged a vegetarian platter for one of our party which was great.
Be the first to ReplyDefinitely the highlight of our weekend
Great atmosphere, delicious food, and lovely staff. The monkfish which can be quite rubbery was so soft and served in a tasty valle d'auge sauce which was the best I have ever eaten. The highlight was ordering baba au rhum for dessert when a 5 litre (approximately) container of rum arrived with the waiter drawing a giant pipetteful to pour over my baba. Oh, so good! The pate en croute and calves liver were pretty good too. This place is quite pricey but definitely worth it.
Be the first to ReplyWonderful lunch!
We had lunch at Le Bon Georges yesterday and it was everything we'd hoped for and more. Warm welcoming staff, delicious, delicately flavored, nuanced food and great atmosphere. We started with a tartelette with truffles whiich was superb, and dare I say it, sexy. I'll remember that dish and how it made feel forever. Our main course was the veal to share and it was also superb. Perfectly balanced, the sauce delicate and earthy and it was served with a light salad and a plate of some crispy fries. Our only regret was that we were pressed for time and we couldn't have desert. But the meal was so good we've made another reservation to go back on Thursday so we can really take our time and appreciate it every moment. A perfect meal. Cannot wait to go back.

Loved everything about this place; the food is amazing but the service is just as good as well. Just go you wonโt be disappointed.
