We called late that evening to get a reservation and we were given the option of high tables and stools vs a regular table. We took the offer and were promptly seated after we 'found' the entrance which was relatively obscure....The service was attentive and the area we were seated,although not ideal, still allowed us to enjoy the restaurant and have a conversation. The tasting menu was selected by all and was the right choice although there is always a lot more food than one thinks despite the smaller portions. An appetizer from the chef to start (an additional item not on the menu) included quail egg on a bed of mustard style mash. Exceptional. Slow cooked egg over mushrooms. Root vegetables steamed with French olive oil. Venison fillet with vegetables. Soufflé. Cheeses. And other desserts....over the top great!Must come back.

This is why it grinds my gears when Yelp'ers hand out five star reviews like candy on Halloween. How do you separate the cream from the crop if you give everyone a top tier review? Le 39V is just as good as you would expect from an establishment run by an Alain Ducasse disciple. The food and service is refined while still exhibiting a perfect touch of creativity. The restaurant is futuristic and stunning. We were the only English speaking customers in the place... Just the way I like it. On second thought, maybe I shouldn't have put this spot on the radar of fellow Americans, lol. If you can find it, you'll be in for a fantastic treat. Enjoy!

Beautiful plates. Intimate. Attentive Staff. Fabulous wine and cognac. You must enjoy a cognac tasting and walk by the working kitchen. My big disappointment was smelling the rancid smokers on the patio (eiffel tower in the background) while enjoying my delicious EXPENSIVE meal. This restaurant needs to stop tolerating smokers who linger there too long! It ruined my experience. Why do the French tolerate and accomodate such a fithy habit?
