Music a bit too loud and some food servings too oily.
Still a nice experience with some interesting dishes, but shouldn't rely only on their brand. Price not justified. Great service though.
Didnt taste the food the wait was long i left at 10
Waited for one hour, had a reservation and they said they were too busy and i had to wait longer. Hated everything , the vibe and attitude .
Ridiculous and waste of time.
Very good and very expensive dinner
Food: I enjoyed the food during a dinner with a friend. Many dishes to choose from, all delicious albeit very very pricey (which we knew when we booked). Everything was delicious but desserts were a bit disappointing (tart assortment and Oreo mousse).
Atmosphere: We weren’t at the bar but in one of the dining rooms which felt extremely cramped. A large group of 12 people dined there as well as two separate tables of 6. At times the other tables were so loud I struggled to hear my friend. This was a big deal for me, as I expected a nicer quieter atmosphere to enjoy the food in. I don’t think it’s a wise choice to mix three large groups with a table for two.
Service: excellent service, our waitress Aïcha was very helpful in choosing from the long list of available options
Overwhelmingly Disappointed
My hotel's concierge made our dinner reservation here on my first trip to Paris, and having always heard how great a chef the late Joel Robuchon was, I was excited to dine here. However, this was likely the most disappointing dining experiences I have ever had.
I proposed to my now fiancée on the way to our dinner here, but that is where the good news ends. Our first course was a soulless foam that was tasteless and contributed nothing to our experience. It came out before our wine was even poured, and this inexplicable pacing continued throughout the meal. The wine list (while expensive) was the best part of the meal, and the bottle we selected is the only good thing we experienced. Our foie gras was over-seared and was permeated with the taste of oil brought past it's smoking point, and each new dish continued to let us down. The menu appeared as if it had been designed in 2005 and had not been changed since; it was dated, unexciting, and unworthy of a Michelin star.
This same 2005 vibe held true for the high top bar, the concept of the kitchen as theatre, and the obnoxious red color throughout the restaurant. The ventilation system was insufficient and we left our meal feeling greasy and unclean, a distinct feeling I attribute to my days working in the kitchen at a burger joint during summers in high school.
If we both were not as excited for having been freshly engaged, we would likely have expressed our distaste for the entire experience that evening. We live in Manhattan and are used to paying up for impeccable service and quality, but this restaurant provided neither. For almost 200 euros a person, this meal was likely the worst quality to value we have ever had. L'Altelier De Joel Robuchon is resting on the laurels of its late chef and must evolve or close.
