A wonderful, wonderful restaurant
Other restaurant owners should come here to see a masterclass in service, food and ambience. The best restaurant experience I've had in a long time. The food was truly delicious. The service was wonderful - polite, efficient, friendly and totally professional. The restaurant itself has a lovely atmosphere.

We chose Lasan as it came in the top three in every search for "best indian resturant in Birmingham". We weren't disapointed. From the warmth of the welcome at the door, the attentive staff and of course the phenomenal food. We were spoilt for choice and could easily have chosen 3 or 4 extra complete meals - and that was just the vegetarians! From begining to end this was a delight. Our number ONE choice when next in Brum.

Came here to celebrate our son’s 18th birthday,nice place,shame about the food,ordered the scallops to start,omg what a joke!!,tiny little pieces of scallop with some horrible squirt of sauce & it was stone cold,for main had chicken on the bone & that was just average Indian food you’d get at your local restaurant,I wanted to complain but my son begged me not to because paying £183 for 3 of us for average takeaway food grieved me,don’t mind paying that price when the food is special but not when it’s below average

Great dinner celebrating my partner's birthday. Food was delicious, good service, and brought a birthday plate as we were finishing up. Thank you, we will be back!
Be the first to ReplyExcellent service & amazing food
My partner and I had a lovely meal at Lasan. The hospitality was undeniably one of the best we’ve experienced. Our waiter Vikyath was fantastic & so were the rest of the staff. Food was served in good time and not too rushed, and the flavours were incredible! (cocktails were equally as amazing) Highly recommend
Be the first to ReplyVALENTINES HELL
We enjoyed a birthday meal here in November for 7 guests, we returned on Valentines to celebrate our 20th anniversary. Without a doubt we experienced the worst dining experience of our lives, and we eat out a lot. Restaurants of this calibre should know when they have booked too many guests above their catering capacity. Lasans was clearly overbooked with significant operational challenges in the kitchen. We were seated 45 minutes after our table was booked and observed other couples wating up to an hour to be seated even though they had pre-booked. It was late and guests were hungry and we had pre-booked the set valentines menu. The drinks included in the valentines meal took ages to come out as did the starter, they had to be reminded to bring water. The “complimentary” pani puri was soggy, like it had been defrosted. A server informed that it was taking at least half an hour for the guests to be served each course. By now it was 10 pm and we hadn’t even had our starter. The other couples all looked agitated and fed up. I asked to speak to the manager who said there were some issues due to “traffic”. I suggested they had over booked. All of the other customers said they were unhappy, and we did get some free drinks. The food remained extremely slow to come out and was distinctly average. Then a second manager with dark hair and a red tie came up and tried to agrue with and intimidate a young Asian couple. He was very mean and then he turned on me and tried to intimidate me. The women on either side of me both defended me and spoke back to him as he was being so vile. I have NEVER witnessed this appalling behaviour where a manager tries to bully customers for voicing very legitimate complaints. My husband had to tell him to stop. He needs retraining or a different career. The meal was ruined for eight different couples, some left before all of the courses were served. Later on the first manager was honest enough to admit that it was indeed a S*** show of an evening. I can’t believe I paid money for the worst dining experience of my entire life. EXTREMELY DISSAPOINTED!!

One of the best dining experiences I have ever had. The service was exceptional and the food was even better. Worth the money.

Came here for my mum's birthday. Considering our background, we're always apprehensive about trying new Indians because we're comfy with what we know we like, but this restaurant was a new level. We actually went with options we wouldn't usually due to the brilliant service from Nabil (apologies if the name is misspelled) - the sharing starter platter was delectable and it only got better with the main. They even brought a dessert out for my mum to mark her birthday.

Very nice restaurant. Tables are spaced out so you are not cramped together. Food was beautiful. Service very good. Especially Aishakae who makes a very good last night in Bombay cocktail.
Be the first to ReplyIt gives me great pleasure...
I wanted to give it 10☆☆☆☆ From the minute we walked through the doors on a VERY cold night, we were given the warmest of welcomes. Enfolded immediately by the atmosphere and the understated music we were taken to our table. Nabil, (I hope I got that right), looked after us like old friends. He's so very knowledgeable about all the dishes and has just the right amount of humour to add to our enjoyment. No rush, just a thoroughly relaxed array of beautiful food and we, of course, sampled each other's dishes. When we left, I struggled to find the ends of my coat zip and hubby, without his glasses also failed! Fortunately one of the managers was there - and he was able to help! We often choose where to eat, guided by Trip Advisor and quite often don't agree. This time I can say in all honesty, it was absolutely wonderful. Thank you to everyone we met and everyone behind the scenes. Your pride in Lasan shines on every plate!

This was our second visit to Lasan and we were again treated to a fabulous evening. The staff were helpful throughout and had excellent knowledge and understanding of the menu and wines. The food was superb, with the beetroot halva sensational.
We will be back in the area for a week in the summer and will return for sure.
Wonderful!
Dinner for two
If yo only go to one restaurant in Birmingham , it HAS to be this one. Such a warm welcome on arrival and the friendly service was maintained throughout the evening. We had a lovely waitress and were served complimentary amuse-bouche of tiny parcels of spicy chickpeas, popadoms with yogurt and chutney.
For starters, we shared a mouth-watering tandoori salmon, as I had a lovely glass of Champagne. For mains, I had a monkfish dish, which was just glorious, and we drank a very good Viognier.
It was one of the best meals out we have had and I would rush back there if only we lived in Birmingham. Thank you to all staff!
A Perfect 30 🙏
THE ATMOSPHERE
Is warm, colourful and quietly buzzy.
We liked the way where ever you sat you could see the whole restaurant. Beautifully decorated, fresh and relaxing although the dining area was full it wasn’t unbearably noisy.
THE SERVICE
Is outstanding! From the moment we walked in we were greeted warmly as if we were retuning customer’s but we had not been before.
The team were warm, pleasant and knowledgable. Our server guided us through the menu so that we got the most out of it and catered towards our taste.
Such a treat when the service is matched with the food and expectations.
THE FOOD
Is wonderful. The menu is so well laid out and written that your taste buds are tingling just reading it. It was very hard to chose. When our food arrived, WOW in the mouth. Subtle spicing with surprising freshness. Every dish was delightful including the breads which were so tasty.
ATMOSPHERE = 10/10
SERVICE = 10/10
FOOD = 10/10
Total = 30
Very rare for us to give a perfect score of 30 but Lason definitely deserves it 🙏
Highly recommend ❤️

Myself and my family had a brilliant meal. We had the Taster Menu, which was beautiful and our service from Stacey was great, thank you!

We had the taster menu which is 7 courses very delicious would highly recommend and will definitely be back.
Thank you for the great service
Consistently good
Always lovely at Lasan - one of Birmingham’s best and most consistent - restaurants. On arrival (early), we had a relaxing spell at the bar, with a glass of Prosecco for £6 apiece. It’s a relaxed ambience, staff always pleasant, and friendly . We sat down for dinner in the basement-level seating section (cosy, nice lighting) - which is one of three distinct seating areas. We had the complimentary single mouthful appetiser of chickpea, in sweet mango sauce, in a crispy shell, and accompanying poppadoms with dips. Then, to start, we had Cochin scallops (tender, flavourful) and Dhal Makhani ( ordered off the sides section). Mains; I had the creamy Makhan chicken in cashew and tomato sauce, while my wife made her own vegetarian tapas from several side dishes; potato varuval (deliciously spiced baby potatos), cauliflower angara, nilgiri paneer, accompanied by mushroom pilau and garlic and coriander naan, both to share. A single portion of rice was enough for us both. A bottle of Prosecco at £30, and some water for the table, to wash it down. We finished with the Bombay Mess - not too heavy, not too tart - and we’re waited on through the 2.5 hours by our warm and friendly server, Stacey. Excellent, as ever. We shall return.

The atmosphere in Lasan is very relaxing. The style and decor are perfect and it's just a fun place to have a meal. The food was excellent and the service from Stacey our waiter and general information provider was super friendly and efficient.
Be the first to ReplyGreat Curry?
Hello. For people who have read my previous reviews - welcome back.
Now let's face it most of us Brits love a Ruby Murry, am I right?
Me I love my lamb. Indian restaurants just do it in a way I love.
So, you know I know my food, if you've read me before (and not just Indian).
So to continue.
Lamb Tikka starter, Lamb Rogan Josh, Jalfrezi or Bhuna depending on my mood. Usually with Chapati or Tandoori Roti.
Sometimes followed, to the surprise of the waiter, by Lamb Tikka for Pud!
Now then enter 'Lasan' and we discover next level cuisine.
Visiting for the first time (and certainly not the last time - I hope I'm welcome back?) you immediately feel you are in the presence of a quality establishment.
The decor is bright, well planned in its layout and extremely welcoming.
Meeting Shoaib you know you are in for a treat. Him and his team are well groomed, attentive and nothing is too much trouble...
Being there for a friend's birthday there was an air of expectation. Needless to say we were not disappointed.
The menu choice is wide and boasts some wonderful sounding dishes.
We ordered a variety of amazing looking and tasting dishes to start (see pics for my dishes)
I had Scollops to start with some delicious additional 'amuse bouche' plates ordered by my fellow dinner's.
Next and of course I had Lamb, but this was braised, spiced and flavour packed Lamb. I'd try to describe it but words won't do it justice!
Along with my 'Chefs Suggestion' Lamb (the one in a box on the menu) I had a share of Okra, Paneer with spinach, Southern Indian spice rice and Tandoor Roti.
They have a well stocked bar with both alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks.
During our time there we were looked after and felt they appreciated serving us dishes they were proud to deliver.
Prior to our arrival we were called and asked if we would like to pre-order anything so that it could be prepared for us on arrival.
All in all a wonderful experience and somewhere I recommend you try for that 'Extra Special' Curry.
Enjoy!
Again thank you to Shoaib and all the team...
Fabulous banquet menu
We took my mother in law for her birthday and had a great time. The banquet menu offered excellent variety of dishes and flavours and we left feeling very full!
